What you can do in a case of nowhere to anchor, is to dig a hole, plant your spare wheel and attach the winch to that. Of course it will depend on how badly the vehicle is bogged down. In the Namib and Kalahari this is often done. Or you could cart a 4 foot tar pole along, for the same purpose.
that would get stuck to on this dune, not because of the raptor but it will just dig deep in the sand with the middle, just get that iveco lighter and give it a lower cabine and it´ll work briliantly or get an oberaigner 6x6 Sprinter if you want more space (or you give a shit about speed and buy a pinzgauer)
These Ivecos are notoriously under-braked.....IF you use them where long downhill sections are encountered. The clever bloke who runs the website "Tuckstruck" has added electro magnetic braking on his Daily 4x4 which has saved him constantly replacing brake shoes. He also has a very good understanding of electronics....necessary if you are operating such a vehicle in third world countries....which is where you would expect to be using them in an overland vehicle...... Unless you are a super clued up bloke like "Tuckstruck" these Dailys could prove a liability for overland use.
This is not a version which goes out in the dunes, this is version which cost 140.000$ so you can park it iin you garage and show it to your friends... ...version which can go round the world cost 30.000$ (1990 Unimog) + whatever you need on your trip (mattress, bucket, axe... max 10.000$)
