How do you get the bracelet on without bending it?

    • @beadaholique

These are bangle style bracelets meaning they're designed to be over-sized so they slip on your wrist. There are also wire wrapped bangles that are designed with the ability to temporarily expand into a larger size while putting them on, those will sit a little smaller on your wrist. We have another video on how to make those here: ruclips.net/video/Fe840mmawa8/видео.html

Gave up disappointedly on using artistic wire, for it easily bends out of shape, and even used a heavier gauge. Am sad for artistic wire has so many pretty colors, and so workable. Feel leery of using artistic for other jewelry projects such as wrapping beads, etc, for concerns of same problem. In researching on google, many state that artistic wire will also not hold up, and should only be used for a quick fun project for wearing a night out. Need your thoughts. Thank you so much for creating this wonderful video, Am going to now try this project again using firmer wire.

Diane Vitale I understand your concern with Artistic Wire. It does make it easy to bend which actually helps when you are doing wire wrapping of this nature. If you are looking for something different try using half hard wire in Sterling Silver or other precious metal.

Thank you for the great video! I like to "work harden" my pieces after they are completed just to make sure that everything is even. One side of this bracelet looks like it is open a bit (12:26 - on the right hand side)...would it be difficult to place back on the mandrel for hammering those spots between the gems?

I think that would depend on what gemstones you are using and yes, you would have to be very careful if you did that. I see what you mean about the one side of the bracelet, you can always adjust that further. I hope this helps. Thanks Teresa!

If you used wire with the memory wire could you use memory wire for the base part of the bracelet.....hope I worded that right....love this design

Jacqueline Riley-Gorman Possibly. Just keep in mind that the memory wire may not be as flexible or adjustable. Memory wire when relaxed only measures for a 7 inch bangle. Most standard bangles are 8 inches. Also make sure that the ends of the memory will not poke you. You will need to cover them up somehow. If you use 20 gauge wire as shown in the video it is actually quite sturdy.
