Now this is what's great about going to many of these bicycle meets you do not see the same make and model bicycle you see quite a few individual bicycles this is what I love about the hobby everybody talks to one another everybody's friendly and usually you can find the parts you need for your particular bicycle or if not a complete bicycle that needs a good home that's just what I love about this Hobby.
great video, thank you, I wish we had collectors/antique bicycle meets like this here in England UK, i have a Schwinn Deluxe 7, and a Black Phantom, a Penny farthing which i ride on a daily basis, now ive just acquired a lovely original 1950s Murray costing me fortune, but i love it, i cant seem to find out what model and exact year it is, i was told 1950, i beg to differ, i think a bit later, its so kool, its in Red and White to match my 1956 Packard Clipper 2 Door coupe. Ive searched the internet hoping somone could help me with the model at least, its similar to the Colombia Cavalier, just wish i knew exactly what it is. It has two red lights bolted to rear hub, hard to explain really.
these are all very interesting. Just recently, I picked up what I presume to be a 1948(?) Schwinn Model D97X bicycle for $250. It's in really good shape but the tyres are flat and the chain is stuck. rolls really good though. I'm looking forward to getting the old girl to move under own pedal power for the first time since the 1950's. For context, the guy I bought it from, it was his wife's grandfather's iirc. said grandfather had to go to a home or something and so it was put in the rafters of a barn. Clearly it was nice and safe there because it's with me, in as good of shape as ever.
Quite a ride down memory lane, thank you for posting. And realistically, how much would a collector or enthusiast pay for that first bike, the green one from Chicago? I mean, surely there is value to these, but anywhere near a 150 grand for that one? I just can't see it.
Thanks for your reply and just this past week I noticed in front of a local auction house an early-model bicycle propped against the wall, evidently on its way to a new home, and it is fascinating to think that the hills of Central Pennsylvania are still alive with vintage vehicles of all sorts. But I would imagine the price bubble for antique bikes has popped a bit, much like that of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Still, to get one or more at a good price would be cool and cheers to you for having a collection. And maybe one of these days I'll have one or two, too.

The Allstate safety tread tires are practically white wall slicks with no traction and little use for any wet pavement.
150 grand, luckily being crazy doesn't hurt.
I wonder if he would take 149,999.99?
