I ñiked seeing those setups. I got the same Jerven in mountain camo. I was warm with a Helion Tek Swagman Roll (60gsm primaloft) as a quilt inside the jerven just below freezing. Got a bit too warm. Condensation less of a problem with air volume inside.
Totally agree they are pretty warm and you don’t need a heavy sleeping bag as it would get to warm and the condensation would build up, I am looking forward to testing the setup in the future and see how well It works most probably do a video. Thanks 👍
I lost my glasses on a long walk through the country side and two different Forrest's, I was lucky I re-traced my steps from the end of my walk and spotted them on a rock about two miles in, a bit scuffed but I got that sorted out.👍🏻
My glasses are the pain of my life lol I keep losing them, every time I go to the woods I am looking for them in hope I will find them one day maybe 🤔 👍
Love your camp set up. Where you live the planes might be a pain when filming, but honestly for the rest of us we love it !!, they sound like great old planes. I have the gransfors small forest axe but the one you use looks half the size and very capable ...
Hi I went for the insulated large version as I wanted to use it for many other tasks not just as a survival cover, so yes it was more money but for me the best option and I went for the large version as I am 6 foot 3 so I got the coverage.
Great video! What Jerven would you recommend? Most videos are about the original, I suspect because it is the cheapest, but it does not cover your body fully. However, I suspect this size is better for regular use, while original is for survival as it is smaller and lighter. Thanks
im really not sure why his is recommending a sleeping bag with this... kinda get rid of the point of why you wond want this. i just bought a hunter. and im kinda now kicking myself in the but because now i wish i bought the extreme. people want be be "comfortable" but totally forgets the point why this was created. its to survive in... so you dont die from the cold. depending your location. if you getting snow on the mountains and you dont want to start a fire in fears in being located. i think the extreme will be way better. but if your in the inner cities in urban setting . i would suggest you the hunter. liie Portland metro. if you want to just get away in areas and not get caught and sleep anywhere i would grab the hunter basic or the XL. if your not sure get the exclusive and have both of the liners... problem is that is going to cost you 1 thousand dollars. however... the selling point for the exclusive is that you could have both liners in your backpack for use as a jacket and one for base camp. and swap out to use in different configs. so i can see that price worth it. is it worth carrying 7lbs for a sleep/coat/tarp/bivy/tent setup is up to you. i know more tarps are better to have in a base camp. i even have a wilderness hammock poncho that i may just throw in the mix. so if i don't want to reflective tarp as rain gear in a humid weather. i could use use the regular poncho. and if i not using the poncho i can turn it to a hammock or a chair or just a leantoo to use to work under weather. but thats why im set of thinking in buying the extreme. because i rather be warmer. rather not being warm enough in my area in the mts. because when the sun sets... its bone chilly. and i was using reflective gear bivy and two swagman rolls.
I wish you had shown how to do a high tarp set up…I’m 5’3” and would like to be able to have a set up that my husband could fit under- yes he usually does the set up cause he’s taller and can reach - but I would like to be able to do it myself (without having to carry a stepladder)
How does the ground set up fare in driving rain without tarp coverage? The zipper on top and the arm zipper flaps (which look set to collect/funnel water to the inside) make it seem like a tarp is needed to stay dry with the ground configuration.
I don’t see the point of this jerben bag if you are going walking or / and camping . Why would you need it ? A bog standard poncho would do the job with your usual layering beneath.

I heard a lot of good reports on the Jerven bag, good result there Dave.
Hi Paul, they are a really good bag tough but they are expensive, I got mine a few years a go now and glad I did. 👍
@@davidfriars Yeah they are pricey bits of kit
Day well spent!
Definitely is a great way to spend the day I alway enjoy when I am in the woods 👍
Looks great Dave 👍
Thanks Lee 👍

Hi, have a look at some of my other videos as I have shown how to setup tarps or do a search on RUclips. It always good to know how to setup a tarp 👍
Hi nice Jerven video. What backpack and pouches do you have on? Looking to see of they might be for my setup
Regards

It’s irony of needing your glasses to find your glasses, been there. I have a spare pair to find the first pair
I am using the cheap glasses at the moment in hope I will find them lol 😂.
