For anyone interested, I've made a template to help you draw your grids! I've included some of my favorite grid sizes. If this is something you would find useful, please download it for free here: www.bbhenry.com/freebie-grid-journal-template
Even though I just found you a year after you created this video, I am so crazy happy to have found you. I am a grungy junk /art journaler and these grids are perfect for adding to my journals. Thank you!!!
This is the first video of yours I have seen. Thank you You Tube for recommending. I really enjoyted your lesson and I love the way you explained everything. I'll be watching this one again. And watching more of your videos. I subscibed to your channel within 1 minute of watching your video. I enjoy making 2 inch collages with my tiny scraps and as you said near the end of the video, each of these could stand on it's own, but I love how cohesive it is.
Wonderful!! I'm so happy you found my channel, thank you for subscribing it means a lot! I'll be posting process videos more consistently this upcoming year!
This is really awesome and I’m going to give it a try. I love Golden paints and other products and Quinacridone Nico Azo Gold is my absolute favorite color!!. I also enjoy using a wide variety of “home improvement” supplies like the compound tape for mixed media. ♥️🖌️🎨
Your instructions are great! I worked along with you and I am so pleased with the results 🎉 I added some plaster board tape (grid pattern) and some dried tea bag material, which worked well. Thanks for sharing your process ❤
Wonderful watching you create this spread. I’ve just begun with grids and am still at a huge learning curve. This has really helped me. Thanks so much. ❤
Hello. Watched without sound can you tell me what the two tapes you used at the beginning, the clear and the white with holes. Can’t wait to watch more of your videos. Thank you for sharing 😊
Hi! The links for all supplies are in the description (: but, here they are again 🤍 www.lowes.com/pd/Easy-Joint-Tape-2-in-x-100-ft-Solid-Self-Adhesive-Joint-Tape/4763889 (if this link doesn't work for some reason, it's been acting up, go to the Lowes website and search "easy joint tape") umwowstudio.com/product/vintage-tape/
Thank you! I actually used both. The first paint that is darker is burnt umber which is a heavy body. The second is Nickel Azo Gold which is a fluid acrylic. Here is the link for the nickel azo gold: amzn.to/43cgJou
Glad RUclips recommended you. Love this idea and look forward to trying it myself, thanks to. Thank you for sharing this with us. Where did you get your tape dispenser?
I am so glad we found each other! It came as a freebie with my scotch tape refills when I bought a pack at Costco. But I found it on Amazon, here's the link: amzn.to/3GzuzaS
This looks very fun, and I love how the spread turned out. I'm new to collage as opposed to mixed media in my art journal. I like the idea of this exercise. I'd like to ask, with such a large journal, what was your thinking to use such small squares?
Thank you so much! I was inspired by Kellee from Color Crush Creative. She has a free mini course about grid journaling. I love to combine mixed media along with collage. It's fun to change up the size of the squares. I can either use these as inspiration for projects down the road. Or let these pages stand on their own for a cohesive spread. www.colorcrushcourses.com/grid
I purchased the sketchbook from Michael’s today. Do you have trouble with the mediums going through to the other side? I tested fluid acrylics and acrylic ink and they leak through.
I have to be careful to not use too much ink/fluid or spray too much water. It's a sketchbook, not necessarily designed for mixed media so you will have to be careful.
Here is the link for this one: www.michaels.com/hardbound-sketchbook-by-artists-loft-8x11/10449298.html It is pretty good! The paper is medium weight, it holds up pretty well.

I might add Brooke was kind enough to make these templates at my request! Thanks again, Brooke!
Thanks so very much!
@@swl9270 Thanks!
Did you apply gesso on your page to start with. Or is your book a mixed media paper. 😊
I love this by the way….it’s beautiful and inspiring! I feel like you can use this to inspire larger works from your favorite ones. ❤

Love your color palette and textures. Your sketchbook seems to lay nice and flat and the pages don’t seem to warp. What brand is it?
Hey! This is the journal I use (an older version but similar to this one) www.michaels.com/hardbound-sketchbook-by-artists-loft-8x11/10449298.html
New subscriber here! I’m going to be working on a grid layout. I think this will be good for me, as I am intimidated by larger spaces.

Can you tell me what kind of drywall tape you used? I really like the circles and I can only find the kind that looks like a grid.
