As for Mr. West, are you on drugs? and the Viking, my friend has a Cad 500cu. in.with a mild cam and can just shred the tires right off the rims. How fast do you want to go?
This is so cool! I am rebuilding this same engine right now. Do you have any notes you could share on starting this on the engine stand? Anything I should be careful about?
These engines were not made for racing anyway, they were made for open road cruising and longevity because of high nickel content. They were produced for what they were intended for, Big 'ol Caddy luxury cars
They actually were tho. the high nickel content in them last longer than straight cast iron and also prevents detonation at hi comp (10.5:1). these things packed 550 lbft of torque out the box back in 68 69 and 70
I rebuilt one of those once. It was out of my Dad's 74 Eldorado and it was so heavy I thought it was going to break my engine stand. If I recall, that is almost exactly a square engine as in bore and stroke are the same at 4.3".
What piece of shit engine stand were you working with .. these are not much heavier than small block Chevy which questions your claim you ever rebuilt anything
d man...yep...these engines are about 50 lbs. heavier than a SBC..with more displacement, and more torque, and about 150 lbs. lighter than a BBC. Also, a 500 with aluminum heads and intake cuts their weight to just over 500 lbs.
why do some people believe that I need some rock and roll music behind an engine that work testing and sounding how stupid is that. I want to hear the engine not some near the well lousy musician.
the high comp engine from 68 -70 are 10.5:1 and pack more torque than any chevy boat anchor. 15 years pfffff!!! more like 15 min, dipshit. u obviously dont know caddys
Super super cool i love the sound of a engine from the dead!!!
I like how you can crank an old engine block right off the engine stand they dont make em like they used to
💙keep the spirit alive my friend

A great engine, I love this sound. What a song is it in your video
Dunno if you ever found it, I assume you did, but it's "Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood" by Volbeat.

I premixed my 69 472 though. it ran a long time.
Yea but the large amounts of nickle give it tons of strength for taking shots of nitrous.

@@lamontwhitehead1809 there's ways to get more power out of them. And you have allot of tourqe from the factory
@@lamontwhitehead1809 you need to get the 68-70 engines 380 hp 550 lb ft of torque out the box @ 10.5:1 cr
96TAWS6455 I learned after purchase but I will take time to get it right done a lot of research so far
96TAWS6455 Good thing I got 500 cubic stroker from Dick Miller to hold me over
I give thumbs up for engine sound and 2 thumbs down for the crappy music used in the video.
These engines are crap. I wasted 15 years trying to race them......they cost 3 times a bb chevy.
i have to agree complete shit but cool video showing it off
hehahah ur an IDIOT.

They weren't intended to be raced. They were intended to be ultra-quiet and ultra smooth - which they are.
That don't sound to good
That's what your English teacher said.
