Dude! Thank you! I am putting mine back together and was debating whether or not my direct drum was fully seated... It was not! I used your method of turning it with a screwdriver (much better than my hand) and click... and another click. So glad i took a break and watched this particular video! I appreciate the time you took to make sure we know what the fuck is actually happening.

I found this video useful for my th475 build. I pickup one good tip how to drill the 7th hole. I do have a eight hole that is not that hard to do. Thanks for your time and money spent on making videos.

If your pump surface is degraded couldn't you just place a machined washer in the pump cavity and shave a few thousandth's off the gears to save the pump?

I work on helicopters, turbine engines and of course classic cars. Long story short I always wanted to rebuild a TH400. I can definitely do this with your vids and a good manual. I never yet overhauled an automatic transmission, but after viewing this series, I feel confident enough to tackle this one on my 1985 M1009 CUCV. Absolutely great series, no BS straight to the point, love it! Thank you I just bought the truck and the oil smells burnt, although I can drive it as it is and I do not feel any problems. Not sure if this means that I should do a complete rebuild but I was told this is most advisable. Is there any way I can tell if rebuilding is recommended? Just to stay on the safe side, I already ordered the deluxe rebuild kit.

I watched most of your series on th400 and wanted to leave you a comment saying thank you. I run a th400 in a hot rod c10 and I couldn’t hold first gear past about 4700 which drove me nuts so I got a full manual valve body and a Trans Go shift kit. One night I just pulled my trans and started cause I had the parts. With the transmission in pieces I found your vids and that weekend you helped me rebuild my transmission which now has break neck shifts and holds the gears, I love it. I am mechanically inclined but my first trans and I was scared and you helped a lot. Thank you!
