I was in a coma for 3 days and when i woke up. No family or friends were there and I was told that no one came. It hurts so much to be both physically and emotionally alone. This type of audio helps relieve the loneliness a little bit. 😢

I think to continue the story, the listener wakes up and have memory loss and the character fully takes advantage of that and take care of the listener for some time before finally remembering what had happened and what the character did to the listener.
This reminds me of a story my Psych professor once told me of a group of patients (and take this with a grain of salt cause I have a bad memory) who were in comas due to damage to their cerebellum (the part in the bottom back of the brain that basically acts as a control station) and they were essentially brain dead. Despite this, the patients would be asked yes/no questions and told to “imagine playing tennis” (yes) and “imagine the best or worst thing you’ve smelt” (no). With this, they were actually able to get brain activity!
It's actually part of the reason in nursing you are encouraged to talk to coma patients as if they are still awake and watching what you say. Not only does it show respect to the patient, not all coma's are the same and some have different levels of consciousness. Just because they may not be awake, it doesn't mean they can't hear you.

Alternatively: DA's character either learns necromancy to get the listener back fully intact and human or they go on a Bill and Ted adventure to beat death and achieve the same goal.
