Jan you need a shirt with a built in sling for your arm ... that way you can work and rest your arm as needed and the sling stays close to your body ad wont choke you if it gets snagged .... when your arm is NOT needing a sling you can hang a mic from it
I don't know what it is, if he found his groove, he feels better about life, or y'all are just having fun together, but Joe seems so much more comfortable and confident. I love it!
So great to see all of the progress on the 401. Looking like Oshkosh '25 is a possibility. Still the best Saturday morning entertainment on the internet.
Have been watching this since you started to fix this and now seeing it putting toghether is fantastic! Waiting to saturday afternoon every week to watch a new video! Why is it so long between saturdays??!!! :D
GREAT video Jason, Joe and team! I am always eagerly awaiting EVERY episode of the 401, and they never disappoint. You are doing such a wonderful job with this project. Please be safe when flying!
You should look in to the small hydraulic assist cylinders they use for truck tailgates. They usually just bolt to the hardware for the cables. Just a thought.
Heres an Idead for the turnbuckles on the door. To prevent the buckle from scuffing up the paint on the door frame, Just put a piece of heat shrink. and now its scuff free!
A lot of big little jobs. Well done, thanks for the post. I get a lot of inspiration from these. Thank you, it’s just good to be able to witness something of a long term project done properly and completely. Yeah I get a lot of inspiration because even now being an older guy I am only now learning to exercise patience. My own project has nothing to do with aviation but it has a sum of parts and requires patience, and has got equipment which needs to be bought and sold. It’s with music production, original music. Yeah so just to say thanks and say it is really good to see what is emerging especially the 401.
I looked at the first couple of episodes the other day and it really put into perspective just how much has been done to the 401! Really enjoying the channel and everything you’re all doing!.
Great video as always, from someone who has used 1000s of ty=wraps in my career trim off the excess twisting with lineman pliers or flush cut side cutters. If not you leave a very sharp edge.
Maybe look at an extended leather sheath which covers the turn buckles as well as the cable to prevent metal on metal abrasion on the door frame? As you say, it's the little jobs that eat into the project but I know you'll get there, great job so far.
Wow! You guys made my Saturday evening epic! I love seeing the progress on the Phoenix. Sometimes it feels like a dream, but it's reality! I'm happy to see Jason healing up, and everyone having a Great time, which is what reality matters after all. As always, keep up the Great work, and have an Amazing weekend y'all! 🙌🏼❤️🔥
Damn!! Hold the iPhone steady and move it slowly when you record!! Your videos reminds me some old home movies that are difficult to watch for any length of time.
@@rebuildrescue Your work for Joe was inspiration to do the same for my Mom and it has made a huge difference in her health and mental well-being. Sometimes you make an impact on others unintentionally.
I think the technical name of those parts is probably tip tank fairings. "An aircraft fairing is a structure cover whose primary function is to produce a smooth outline and reduce drag." Those seem to fit that description.
Tedious work on those tip tanks. I'm not sure I have the patience for that. The 401 is looking good! Do something fun / stupid with the carcass of the 402. Take care of that arm Jason!
Should have done a collaboration with Wes Lee Music Repair. 90% of his videos are massaging dents out of metal. Of course, I imagine working with brass is much different than steel.
402Cs have pneumatic cylinders for the cabin upper doors. Those older ones are dangerous because they fall with the slightest bump. I still have a scar on my forehead from one of those sharp corners.
Hi fellas. As always great show. Have to comment today tho, Where did you get that rattle can spray nozzle?! (Joe used for primer on tip tanks) Not only a handle, but a fan (not a small circle!) pattern?! I really need one of those! Bought some small spray caps few years ago from home despots that adjust but they don't fit any can nozzles. So they pour out more than they spray.
On the tip tanks I hope you guys did the math for the compression of the metal as it can cause cracks later on. Just a reminder. On vehicles, you wouldn’t care about him right now to death but on aircraft, it can get a little bit tricky.
Keep at it! Nearly there! You guys should add a section to your website of RR alumni - all the planes you’ve restored and sent out into the world to keep flying
Tell Joe that he should NEVER do that shaking thing again. You never know when a camera will be on you at Rebuild Rescue and that wasn’t a very flattering look. Funny as hell though lol 😂
Always listen to what the medical staff say.....yet, I too drove a heavy truck with my busted up shoulder, A man has to do what a man has to do to get things done ! Get better soon.
Do you have to be concerned about work hardening the aluminum? I would think that as it hardens, you would have a greater potential for cracking over time. If this is, or could be and issue, what is your solution?
That top hatch “lever” is flat and thin. A pneumatic cylinder is not going to fit there without modification, which may require new window and a hole rabbit hole. But i agree would’ve been nice to think about in the design phase of the 401.
I hate to tell you my friend but you put the stair doors on too early. You're going to be in and out of that airplane a thousand times carrying items to be installed You're going to put a lot of abuse on that air stare when a bench / stand would work so much better.
You said that your arm will slow you down a bit. I don't know if it's your arm... Your'e a tall, big strong man. The difference between you and Joe is you mean Power, Joe means Performance. Both of you have a nice day. Take care 😂😂

Went to a therapist and immediately thought it was a waste of time but kept going and after a year it changed my life.
I don't know what it is, if he found his groove, he feels better about life, or y'all are just having fun together, but Joe seems so much more comfortable and confident. I love it!
Nothing like my Saturday coffee with Jason and Joe. Looking good and keep up the good work.
Awesome! Thank you for watching!
Keep plugging guys. Restorations can be tedious, but slowly it is really taking shape. Good work to all on the Rescue Team.
30s of you on the camera and I was feeling motion sick haha - kudos to Harry and his steady hand!
After a long week of work, I look forward to Rebuild Saturdays
90% done, 90% to go! I rebuilt a crashed 170B years ago, not near as complex, but tedious. Looking good with each small step!
So great to see all of the progress on the 401. Looking like Oshkosh '25 is a possibility.
Still the best Saturday morning entertainment on the internet.
Thank you! Enjoy the video!

Looking good guys. The Phoenix is really coming together. Can't wait to see the interior process unfold. Take care everyone.
Thank you for watching Shawn! Your support means a lot !

Nice seeing the man who won the Mustang looking so happy. You be careful with that arm. Be safe not sorry.

Brilliant
All you need to do is rotate the cable 180 degrees so the buckle is at the step connection
@@ryanjohnstone29 Damm why didn't I think of that?
Great video. It’s good to see the 401 getting some good work done.

great progress on the 401. great video and ill be watching them all. thanks
Loved the sight of the "wing walkers" at 30:00!
Joe is a beast . love ya joe

Jason, how is the progress going on getting the pilots license? I might have missed it but havent heard any mention of that in awhile.
It's good to see that you are on the mend. I've watched this build from day one, and I can never wait for the next episode to drop.
Nice work, guys. It is always a pleasure. Take care of yourselves and keep on going.
Thank you! Will do!
Those headlights on the Mustang bring back a lot of memories
Beautiful car and great job on the 401. Thank you guy's love your hard work
That means a lot, thank you for being apart of the channel Scott

Any idea when the next video will be for the free abandoned yacht
I think they are still waiting to have the title sorted before they spend money on it.
Thanks for another great episode to brighten up the weekend!
When cameraman Harry swaps roles with presenter Jason, we learn that they really were in the right jobs before the swap. :)
🤣😂👍🏼

Hard work with the one arm! big respect to keep pushing forward! You’re doing amazing! I hope everyone at the hanger is well!
The grind doesn't stops, even with one less limb! 😂😅Thank you for your positivity!
@@rebuildrescue positivity is the key 💪😊
I’ll be coming to Oshkosh from Australia in 2025 - it would be amazing to see the 401 there! 🤞
At this rate it'll be Oshkosh 2028 lol
I would like to thank Joe for his fearlessly getting his teeth fixed. June 24 I get my temps installed. Thanks Joe.
We love that ! Good luck with everything 👍🏼
People really underestimate how important dental health is, kudos to you for getting it taken care of!

Thumbs up for another 401 update 👍😎
Hey guys, it is looking great! Sorry about your wounded flipper.
Mike, what a guy...
Yes, landing gear on the 402. 😊

Such a Good Episode, I cannot wait to see the Phoenix up in the skies like it once was, Props to Joe 👊 and Jason, May God bless you all.
Using a body dolly and a body hammer would help take the dings out pretty quickly. Just a thought for next time.
good job on the aeroplane 👍👍
no pun intended but one step closer 😂👍🏆 Great job guys
Thank Jason had the camera,I was getting dizzy when you had it.
What no burn out really come on that's a must
Jason how far are you toward getting you pilots license.
?
Its nice seeing the old boy work, but don't let him hurt his back. Wrecking your spine / back can turn your life upside down.
Ooh, more 401. Gimme gimme gimme =)
My 235 was N9397W! Not much older than thos one!
If you really want a wild idea for that 402 fuselage, turn it into a sandrail with passenger seating

Awesome job guys🛫

getting closer

Motion sickness starts at 12:59. Never give Jason the camera again.
Just put a longer bolt with a teflon or alum spacer to keep it away from the doorway.
Could you use Dinema braided line for the door? It’s lighter , stronger , and causes no damage …. 🤷♂️
G,day from Sydney Australia.
How about self adhesive anti slip rubber Hi vis on the steps of the Phenix 401?

Got it. Not the tip tanks, but the tips of the tanks.

So you should challenge Elon musk to a challenge you can get that airplane ✈️ done before SpaceX gets to Mars! 😂

Not long now, about another 40 more episodes on the 401 project, LET GO.
🥊 🥊 🥊 👍 👍 👍
Good afternoon here in Europe
Thanks for stopping by !
How many times are you going to repair the tip tanks? They’ve been off and on many times now.
We are glad Jason is not in charge of the camera all the time... we are all getting seasick LOL
One more time what happened to the BOAT?
I just keep thinking about the emotions we will witness from you and the team when this plane leaves ground.
Just curios, did you need ground clearance to taxi the forklift and fuselage? 😂
Been almost a year... Did the motors get out of the yacht yet?
nah, joe is the most important part of this project 😊
I’m crazy, if I had the place and money I would absolutely put that 402 on a chassis! That would be cool as crap!
How much time and money has gone into the 'free' plane?
Use a dolly with the hammer and you can quickly shrink the stretches
I could see someone with rollerblades a forklift and a towrope lol
Now I have to wait a whole week to see more 😢 oh well I’ll be waiting impatiently, ok Joe do your best to keep everyone straight 😂
😂😂
