Spinoza's Ethics, Part I

In this lecture, I give a bit of historical background on Spinoza, then discuss Part I of his Ethics. I concentrate on his monism and his definitions of substance, attribute, and mode. I have a lot to say about Spinoza's determinism as well, and about how he addresses the mind-body problem.
