The guitarist on this track was the legendary Waddy Wachtel. One of the greatest studio and touring guitarists in the business. The Stones wanted Waddy to join their band and he worked on several albums with them. He later toured with Stevie Nicks. If you want some more prime Linda Ronstadt doing rock react to the 1977 Atlanta Fox Theatre video where she is with the same backing group and they do Tumbling Dice followed by You're No Good. Linda is at her very very best and blows the roof off the place. The band is extremely tight and on point and Waddy was absolutely shredding on lead so hard he tore his shoulder strap which Linda fixes without him missing a note while he's playing.

“The Sound of My Voice” is so enlightening about female singers coming up in that era. I loved the biographical production of Linda Ronstadt and the magic that was her voice until a neurological disorder stopped her from singing. She remains as active as she can in her limited capacity but she has brought inspiration to so many female solo artists in the last fifty years. Responsible for the group The Eagles by encouraging her backups to start their group that became the Eagles. She is forever in our hearts 🥰

My mom used to take me to see Linda in the small venues before she became really big, one night we were watching her on stage, there was a lady in front of me with a bandanna over her hair. Linda asked for her friend to join her, and she stood up….it was Dolly Parton! And yes, I heard this live ❤ it was always amazing. My mom passed a year ago next month, and I think of her every time I hear a LR song…

"Adios" from her "Cry Like A Rainstorm" album is absolutely gorgeous. It has beautiful sophisticated lyrics by Jimmy Web. Linda called Brian Wilson, retired from The Beach Boys to do back-up. Linda can do no wrong as far I’m concerned and you are 💯 correct in questioning just what the heck is going on that this song from Linda has not been viewed and liked so much more than it has. Here’s a couple of suggestions for more Linda, in a similar vein to this track is another cover by Linda called “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me”. This second suggestion is one of my favorite Linda tracks right up there with “Long Long Time” and the song is “Love Is A Rose”. Glad you love Linda because she is truly a national treasure.

This video is actually the studio recording of the song that has been synced up to a concert video. In the studio recording, most of the instruments are played by Andrew Gold, who you can see in this video as one of the guitarists who also does backing vocals. In the studio recording (which is what you are hearing here), the lead guitar is by Andrew Gold, but this video shows Waddy Wachtel playing lead. If you play guitar, you can see that the notes Wachtel plays are not the notes in the recording you're listening to. Likewise, the drummer in the video is not drumming exactly like the recording (which was played by Andrew Gold). And, of course, Linda walks off the stage at the end, yet still manages to hit that final note. It's fun to see her on stage, but it would have been nice to hear the live sound.

Those album pictures show you how HOT she was on top of being a great singer. She still looks great now.

The Rolling Stones sang Tumbling Dice you should play that and then play Linda right after it another great cover in my opinion the best cover she ever did is the waiting which Tom Petty originally did and that song also rocks

Do you have a separate channel for movies? I would like to see your reaction to “The Sound of My Voice”. I cannot find it on RUclips 🤔I just watched this for the second time and realized that the creator of this video, for some reason, has dubbed the studio version over a film of her live performance. I don’t know why because she sounded every bit as good live as in the studio. 🤷🏻‍♀️

He did. He reacted to The Sound of My Voice in its entirety, a few weeks ago. It’s on his Patreon.

Great song, with some good covers. I especially like the version by The Jam, on Setting Sons.

I didn't see any comment. Was this thing held up for a little while? And RUclips editing or whatever? I saw you saying you're going to go live this Friday but I thought the date said January 8th and it's February
