  • The Harley Street Glide Special has always been a good looking bike but this one here might be the best looking and feature rich Street Glide Special on the road.

Just bought a 2023 Street Glide Special Black on Black yesterday and excited as hell. This will be my first Harley Davidson as well.
What Handle Bars are those? This is exactly what I'm looking for. Great video too by the way. Appreciate your content

One thing I added to my bike that never gets talked about but made a significant difference to me was the reduced reach clutch lever. Look it up, they also have rear brake mods that are amazing, the little things make a difference. Especially when you think about how much you pull on your clutch lever and the reduced fatigue with the drop clutch.

This is exactly the bike that got me started looking at baggers. I was in getting parts for my Wide Glide, and saw one of these in White Sand Pearl with the Prodigy wheels and that chopped engine guard. It's been a rabbit hole ever since. While rooting around, I discovered Indian Chieftains. Now, I don't know. The last Chieftain in white was back in '20, so I'm waiting to see what the new models bring. Moneywise, it's close, but I'll be in a better spot come the end of winter and the prices should be more workable, too.
What's your thoughts comparing the Street Glide Special to the Indian Chieftain's current models?

The factory gas cap is the regular cap in black. I just bought a $20 jumper so I could have wireless Carplay on my 21’.

Bars may be Dominator 14" meat hooks. I have 12s. Very comfortable.

Nice video! I have a 2017 SGS. Those bars look like 16in Dominator Meathooks! I have the 12in on mine. The only issue with the new lower crash guards is a lot of people end up with lower fairings. And you can't do that with the low profile guards.
I love my Harley, but things that Harley doesn't do and makes you pay extra for (like Apple Car Play) or they ONLY have on the CVO or Specials, they have standard on Indians. You seem to get more bang for your buck with an Indian. Again, I love my Street Glide Special but seriously looking at an Indian Challenger. :)

Your reviews are full of opinions, most of which I don't agree with, but thanks for the effort. Your '19 Special is a much nicer looking bike than this white '22. You sound googly in love with the white bike, maybe should just trade then for a white one?? The new gas cap isn't "cleaner" looking, opposite of clean in my opinion. Adds clutter. Hidden under that cover was a lot cleaner looking, and I don't think this is even debatable. Agree with you on Colckwerks windshields, worst brand out there, prefer Clearview or even better, Freedom, little to no distortion and very thick / high quality. Clockwerks shields are just an ugly mess, ruin the looks of any bike they're on.
Street Glide has much LESS stretch to reach the infotainment system than Road Glide, you sound like a Road Glide salesman. You don't like the far reach to a Street Glide screen - have you ever sat on a Road Glide? You are still new to these touring bikes the way it sounds, recently off a Sportster, correct?
The new engine guard eliminates the ability to use the canvas lower wind protectors which are great in colder or rainy conditions. Halogens can be swapped out, not something to constantly nitpick over. This could make a good drinking game, take a drink everytime Hegshot complains about stock halogen bulbs in one of his videos, it wouldn't take long to be under the table. You could certainly give that a rest.
Heel shifter is about $70, they shouldn't have gotten rid of it (I wouldn't ride without one) but in the Harley scheme of things, 70 bucks is not an overwhelming burden. Not sure the cable clutch is better, again your opinion, many who are in the know much prefer the hydraulic clutch (which had to have cost Harley a lot more $ to include on the bike so going back to an old fashoned cable was no doubt primarily about saving money for Harley). I love my hydraulic clutches ('20 SG Special / '15 Ultra Lim.), better feel than the past cable clutches I've had, and no need for adjustment.
I think you have a better looking bike at home & the changes this '22 has are not good or bad, and that's being kind; more cheapening of the bike than anything. New ones come with 1 FOB instead of 2, another cheaping thing that happened somewhere between '19 and '22. I really don't think the changes between your '19 and that '22 are anything to get all gushy over for sure.
Just my opinions. Your bike is just as good if not better. Thanks again for the effort, good production.
