Its one of my favorites. I didn't absolutely love the artwork but the readings are incredible and clear. Over time i started to adore and love the art so much. I was thinking about getting the book so thats how i found this video. My favorite is the handsome bearded magician, love the Tower and the court cards
I am trying to learn the tarot using a Rider Waite deck and have been struggling connecting to the old standard images. I was not aware of this deck by Robin Wood and so I thank you for this. I ordered this deck and the book and I think the images are very lovely and is just what I need to learn and study.
Wonderful walk-through, thank you for doing my tag too… It doesn’t matter how much longer after the original, it’s still great to see. I loved how you did a side-by-side next to the RWS.
I watched this for nostalgia, but now you got me wanting to bring this deck out for pro readings again. Such a good deck! And the book really is a wealth of information for new readers and in such an accessible way. I learned tarot on 3 decks, they were the RWS, Thoth, and Robin Wood, and this was my working deck for years. This was a pleasure to watch 🙏🏼
Love the Robin Wood deck! It’s probably my soul deck, I always come back to it, no matter how many other decks I gush over and acquire. I’m just as loyal to Pixie’s deck as an old standby, but Robin’s is the one that thrills me whenever I see it. I forget what Rachel Pollack called these RWS cards, as I don’t have her book handy, but she comments in “78 Degrees of Wisdom”, that Pixie’s use of the lines across the lower part of some of her cards could be explained as a reference to Pixie’s real life career as a set designer for stage plays. So these cards (IV, IX & X Wands; II, X & Page of Cups; II, IV?, V & VII of Swords; II, IV, VI & VIII Pentacles) could be understood as scenes from plays rather than as “natural” ones, and the lines could indicate the bottom edges of background scenery curtains. So probably no “concrete”, but definitely a manmade walking surface for the actors, and a “play within a play” to tease readers! 😊
I really enjoyed hearing about your journey. I began with the Osho Zen, myself, but the Robin Wood was a deck I found so comforting when my friends would use it to read for me in my late teens and early twenties. I finally picked up a copy this year and have been really enjoying it.
Sadhana, Thanks for the review of this deck. I should be getting my deck today or tomorrow. I also ordered the book with it so I am excited to be able to read about the inspiration and Art work that she has put into the deck. My first deck was Miss Cleo's Power Tarot Deck and It reads very well for me. I purchased the deck and then didn't pick it up for several years. I have many decks and I have become a collector as I know many tarot readers have. I also have many Tarot books to include Benebell Wen's Holistic Tarot book. It's very thick and indepth. Thanks again for the review. -----Lisa
My first deck was a RWS deck. I use to make spot on predictions with that deck. Unfortunately, one of the predictions scared me so much that I thought if I threw the deck away, that I wouldn't go through that terrible experience. When I threw the deck in a dumpster, I heard a loud noise as if I threw it in a empty dumpster. Anyway, I did experience tragedy that year. Well, I wish I had a better understanding of tarot back then. Recently, my love for tarot has returned. Now, I have 5 tarot decks and 7 Oracle decks, however the RWS always tells it, like it is.
Sadhana, thank you! Is this deck as close to you as the Llewellyn or Legend the Arthurian Tarot? Your reviews are informative and like memoirs, very valuable!

This deck was also my first one. I got it in New Orleans so I feel a real connection to it and I’m excited to learn how to do tarot readings!
Well Nathan stick around. There's plenty of help on my channel. Welcome 🙏🏻😊

Thanks Simon. I'm really enjoying your Throwback Thursdays.

Yes, I have thought of the "all the world's a stage" metaphor. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. 😊

Thanks Lisa. Osho Zen is a very special deck for me, too. It has many layers and unique insights.

That's a story for the grandchildren! or your tarot class! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Beautiful art here!
It was my first too. I was 19 years old when it called me to take ir with me.
So sad that Robin is no longer with us. Her deck will live on in history!
Thank you for your video. What is the size of these deck please? I love to have bigger version of this deck ❤
It is a standard size tarot. I've never seen larger cards.
Sadhana, thank you! Is this deck as close to you as the Llewellyn or Legend the Arthurian Tarot? Your reviews are informative and like memoirs, very valuable!
The decks were a different time in my life. All hold special memories. Thank you for your kind feedback Lisbeth 😊
