Wow this is great. Track and field is the most under appreciated sport out there. It's great that red bull is giving it some attention. Track runners don't do it casually like people playing basketball or golf. Track is a passion that you must make part of your life to be successful in.
look at the red bull sign on the left that is lined up at 2:02, you can see that its about halfway between the 5.75 and 6m increments, meaning it was roughly a 5.85m jump. Insane.
Its crazy how training facilities have changed. I learned how to vault on a cinder runway! I wish I could have 2 weeks in the facility. Would be the time of my life!
For everyone saying it was a 7m jump, look closely. There are two sets of standards which have labels on the front and back. The pit he's jumping into is set at 5.95 but the standard is out of focus. If you look closely you can see that the left standard is the closer one in the pit he's jumping into, the right standard is for the one behind it.
Cool to see RedBull pumping money into a variety of sports. Personally I'm a big fan of the arguably more adrenaline-pumping stuff, but nice to see RedBull enhancing all sorts of sports and athlete's training.
Not trolling on the original comment but some people just dont get it man, you are running full sprint and then almost completely stopping all forward motion, its a different kind of adrenaline
agreed! - hence the "arguably more" bit of my comment. Some of Red Bull's videos include stuff which I'd personally say is MORE adrenaline-pumping. I couldn't come close to doing this but I'm sure it'd get my adrenaline flowing if I tried.
Not sure the height exactly, but it looked as if it was a 4left approach. And ive seen hooker go 5.61m from a 4left. So im sure it was close to that height, if not a few centimeters higher. (5.61 = about 18'5" btw)
Does anyone know the height of that final jump? I'm assuming the Red Bull signs on the side are showing the height in meters, but it obviously isn't lined up correctly from that camera angle.
i really dont think so because,7 meters are 21 feet and as you see the pole is close to the crossbar and there is no way a pole could be that long... good optical illusion though :)
are you saying that other than mabey big mountain or big air skiing/snowboarding and wingsuit or basejumping or big wave surfing there is much more adrenaline pumping stuff than vualting? You're clearly not a vualter
God forbid me to try Polevaulting, because he dont want me to disturb him every time i jump. Apparently its annoying when i fly up in heaven and then just fall down again... Sorry for me being awesome and Polevault up to heaven, jesus christ God... :(
Does no one else find it strange that it was pretty much as soon as he moved here (if not before) that he began to decline as a vaulter?
I was just thinking the same thing
@@Falconjt179 he declined it due to injuries, remember before this he won a World Championship taking only two jumps because of injuries!
THIS IS SO EPIC OMG!!!! I want to train there!!

No that's wrestling
This is an awesome initiative, Redbull!!!!! Supporting different sports and athletes all around the world.
Good to see you jumping well again Steve and hope to see you in the Green & Gold at London
Respect, I hope you will qualify for the olympics Steve !

It's cool that Red Bull sponsors track and field athletes!
This video is so cool! I wish there was one around where I live so I could train there too!
now red bull just needs to tell him to jump on carbons again so that beast facility will actually turn some results
REDBULL DOES GIVE YOU WINGS !!! WEEEEEEEE !!

Love Contour Shuttle Pro V2, oh and RedBull
2:02 you can kinda estimate better on the height of the final jump
I need to see a video of them using the ramp (1:15), and I need to learn how to build one. Help me out redbull.
its actually only 6 meters not seven. You can see that where it says 7 meters is the standards that are on the runway behind

If Steve Hooker doesn't win, Steve Hooker better win
try running full a speed with a 17 foot long pole, planting it into a little box and going 20 feet in the air. tell me if you feel any adrenaline.

You realize 7m is like 23 feet... lol. Theyre clearly showing the redbull symbol not the height.
This place is freakin legit!!!
Does anyone know the height of that final jump? I'm assuming the Red Bull signs on the side are showing the height in meters, but it obviously isn't lined up correctly from that camera angle.
I miss vaulting.
Its now apparent that redbull will sponsor anything. This guy rides poles for a living...
i guess redbull finally found a sport they cant make look rad
can anyone plz tell me how i can get one off thos redbull jacket or is it like ther helm u need to be sponsord?
when you stand there next to the beams he goes over it looks like he is gonna hit the roof.
i want to see him vault on that platform
Redbull is TOTALLY what you should drink while you're pole vaulting.........
No I think it was at 6 meters. Still an impressive jump!
not one camera angle that doesn't show the red bull logo.........
It was a 6 step approach and the height was 5.44
great!
YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
lolol he was happy.
it's the camera angle, still probably a six meter jump though
hahaha this is litterally five minutes from my house!
what does redbull NOT sponsor= dat shit cray
sponsors only, and when the contract is up all the gear goes back to redbull. Sucks for us couch athletes
i really dont think so because,7 meters are 21 feet and as you see the pole is close to the crossbar and there is no way a pole could be that long... good optical illusion though :)
impressive :)
what is he doing at 1:16?
want to switch places with me? come live in the states? haha!
Are last jump is 7meter
is there any sport which redbull don't cover?
my god.. he did...
5.44m - 6steps
Is there any sport Red Bull doesn't sponsors?
i work at the place where he trains the place is hell creep at night if you go in there
whoa whoa did he jump over 7 meters at 2:00 ? WTF?!
dude when you clear a bar that high, it is insane. imagine yourself flying 7 meters strait up
Can Red Bull move this facility to my back yard so my kids can train?
i want that jacket so bad
jumping and falling from 5m and over seems pretty adrenanline-pumping to me! :)
its not adrenaline pumping to watch I believe is what he meant
pause at 2:02 it was 7m
Looking good zoolander :)
So Steve wanna let me train with you (:
are you saying that other than mabey big mountain or big air skiing/snowboarding and wingsuit or basejumping or big wave surfing there is much more adrenaline pumping stuff than vualting? You're clearly not a vualter

0:46
Wow

Pause at 0:16 seconds and you'll see what i mean
Since when is chess a sport?
Um....no.
I dont do drugs.. Drugs do me.
Ps.You may want to see who I am,
And that's why women shouldn't pole-vault.
Chess
God forbid me to try Polevaulting, because he dont want me to disturb him every time i jump. Apparently its annoying when i fly up in heaven and then just fall down again... Sorry for me being awesome and Polevault up to heaven, jesus christ God... :(
