- It was my husbands idea to do this video! I had to give it a fair trial. ASMR? Perhaps some will have an ASMR experience. I did for sure, during editing. It's different when someone else has to do it...the actual yard work, I mean. But honestly, it was so dreamy being out there in the cool of the morning playing in the dirt. We are not landscaping quite yet. Just trying to clean up the mess this yard was in and arrange just a bit. Although, my husband did plant that apple tree last year and it is growing so well. I will give you a peek at that, at the end.

I no longer burn that material. I toss it a huge bin with eggshells, coffee grounds, toilet paper/paper towel cardboard etc and make amazing dirt for the veggie garden!
This year I have peas, zucchini, Roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, jalapeños, arugula, sunflowers, potatoes, onions, and watermelon 😊
Oh wow! I didn't know you could turn paper towels and cardboard into mulch! What a wise woman you are! Not only that, but you must have quite a bit of stamina to do that much work. Good job, Catania. 😀❤️

A friend of mine would hang bird food under the bells, the bells would ring when the birds landed on the feeder. We enjoyed the sound. Bird ASMR, I'm not kidding. We ❤U Rebecca 🦌

I'm so glad you asked! I wanted to do a talking version of this video just to explain what's going on, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Anyway, those pebbles, are an old pathway that someone made in this yard. We are moving that pathway somewhere else as you saw by where I dumped the pebbles. And they went deep into the ground. I have to leave a lot there. Never-ending project. You hit the nail on the head.

Omg, I feel your pain we bought a house right before covid hit and the neighbors said until they listed it the weeds in the yard were 4ft tall. We raked a pile of dead leaves as tall as the fence. And every time I dig anywhere in the yard there are just random rocks all over. I will never get them all. In the bad spots we ended up just putting a bit of topsoil down so grass had something to root in. My chickens are super happy to have grass to peck around in so worth it. 😊

Just last August my husband and I moved to Susanville California. Lest you be confused, we are both originally Californians. He is from Lake Tahoe and I am from Calabasas. I spent many years in Paradise, California and spent a lot of time in Chico. I still have family living there. Where are you now?

@@BooboovilleASMR We drove through Live Oak and Yuba City all the time on the way to the airport in Sacramento. Somewhat familiar with that area. Northern California was my stomping grounds for years. So many beautiful places to explore.
You may have heard me mention living in Montana in one of my videos. Possibly. I have never lived out of the country. It was definitely a long road trip from Tennessee to California. We traveled in an RV. Approximately 3000 miles.

Imagine a fire in the back yard of a home in California! Considering so many homes and acres have been torched in California by wildfires. Thank goodness this is one you can control. I like the sounds but they are not ASMR. Just comforting though.
We were quite surprised as well to realize that we could actually have a fire in our backyard in California. Awesome!
I do need to say that it is rather presumptive to say that this video is not providing an ASMR experience. The ASMR experience is purely subjective. We cannot tell anybody what is ASMR and what is not. if you look up the definition officially, (the first word being autonomous: self-governing), you realize that there is actually no definition per individual. That's like trying to tell somebody what their favorite fragrance is. No one can decide that for you.
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction Perhaps I should have indicated that it did not provide an ASMR experience for "moi". With that said, most of the stuff I gravitate toward in search of that "ASMR" feeling so many talk about is elusive to me. Speaking for myself only here. I did find it comforting and relaxing, however.

My favorite sound in this video is the fire crackling. I love how there's such a long part! You know before you had the fireplace intro, it sounded very good because it was soft just like the one here. That's a very big yard! I want a yard 😢. Im such a homebody, a yard will push me to go outside.

It's post exam season for me now and i did pretty well this time. I'm happy because most days we don't have school! Yay! Just gotta wait for the holiday.

Yardwork is fun for some and not fun for others. When I was a child, we had a big giant yard and my dad made all of us children work hours and hours and hours in the yard, while the other kids played. But we still had a magical childhood. Absolutely. However, now I don't really like yardwork. Memories do you stay with you.
I'm guessing that if you got to have a yard, you would absolutely love to work in it. And you're right, it does encourage one to go outside.
I don't know if I told you this, but, I didn't go outside much at all in Tennessee because there was so much humidity and mosquitoes. I have missed summertime so much. Now I get to go out and hike and bike and swim, etc.
Don't be confused, though. Whenever I wanted to make a video, I just made myself go outside. I enjoyed it a little. But there was a lot of ickiness as well. Icky and sticky and bitten. 😂😂😂
My fire intro comes back in the winter time. 🔥
@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction Oh wow I haven't thought of the ickiness and humidity! It really doesn't feel good outside in humid weather 😢 I really hate mosquitoes!!!! They're so annoying and when I was little they bit all over my face once and my face had so many lumpssss 😭😭😭 the mosquitoes are appearing in HK now and they're so annoying luckily I don't have to go out much anymore!
Do you have a lot of mosquitoes in your house? I'm assuming there are because it's not really high up. In my apartment we seldom have mosquitoes, maybev 2-3 enter per year cuz we live pretty high up, floor 25.
If I had a yard my parents and I would probably be too lazy to manage it 😂 actually I haven't mowed grass before I wanna try it seems fun but so noisy. I've never started fires nor set up fire pits before. I wanna try doing that, but I think my hands are gonna bleed without gloves touching the branches 😂
The swimming pools in Hong Kong aren't my fav because they're so rusty 🤮 and I HATE rust they really peeve me. I rarely go swimming actually, and hiking and biking aren't also my thing because hiking is sooo tiring 😮💨 everytime I get forced to hike I just faint or nearly faint bc low blood sugar and idk how to ride a bike (lol may be weird for someone to say that in the US cuz I heard most ppl can ride bikes there, but it's not uncommon in HK actually)
My childhood is just RUclips and games LOL 😂😂 it's so funny how big of a contrast our childhoods are, yours is like books and yards and toys mines just RUclips and games lol

I appreciate how honest you are with me. The things that you tell me make me realize that I have had a very colorful and blessed life on so many levels. You are correct in saying that most people know how to ride bikes here. It's part of childhood. Rollerskating, hiking, playing in the lakes and the rivers and the creeks. That's only if you're lucky enough to live in the country. There are many people who live in the city that have not experienced a lot of what I have.
Anyway, here at my house, we don't have very many mosquitoes at all. That is why I am so glad I moved away from Tennessee and all that humidity. Here the air is dry and sweet and wonderful. Practically no humidity at all. We do get bees and flies. But not too many of those either. Very lucky. We have the wild deer that come all over the neighborhood and many birds. Wildlife is abundant. You would feel like it was a whole different world from where you live, if you could see it. And I wish you could. I would love to be the one to show you around. We'd get you in good physical shape in no time at all. Even teach you how to ride bikes. 🚲 🤗🤗🤗
@@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction WHAT LUCKY omg i wanna move to susanville 😭 If i were in susanville i would be so much more outgoing i suppose! In Hong Kong sometimes its humid sometimes its not. When it's humid in springtime, the floors and walls get all wet like after someone washes them, if i told you someone mopped the floors you would believe it. Everything was so wet even our desks weere soaked and if we put our textbooks on their they would also get a little wet 😧
And also about the deer I would love to have them around 😭 They're so cute! We have many birds here too but they're just sparrows, I actually think theyre cute but i wanna see more breeds.
I wish i could do more different outdoor activities like seeing wild animals, without having to go out far cuz in HK we dont even know where to see wild deer! I dont even think there are deer here. You can rarely see wild animals on the streets sometimes and I think you will stumble upon a deer whenever you go out. But there was one time a wild ostrich (IDK WHERE IT CAME FROM 😧 cuz there are no ostrich in HK) it roamed free on the streets for 5 hours and ran across the whole New Territories (which is basically like a state in the US) my friend witnessed it live and it nearly got crashed by a carrrrr but it didnt get crashed and later it was caught by idk what organization. I wonder what it's doing now!

But you are right about the aching back. 😂 I finally decided to sit right down on the ground to get more pebbles from the ground. 👍🏻😂 My husband set up a pool on the patio so now I have my haven. It's a little above ground thing but provides much cool in the summer. 💦 😍🤗❤️

Oh, that's funny! 😂😂 We knew there wasn't anything in that pile. We had already gathered up stuff from all over the yard and created that pile ourselves, so we were acquainted.

LOVE my new place! I don't miss anything about Tennessee. But I will have a soft spot for the sound of Cicadas and the beautiful fireflies. Coming back to California was the right thing as my husband was able to be with his brother for his battle with cancer and his recent passing.
Also, I adore going outdoors without humidity and being attacked by mosquitoes. We can have chickens here but I fear the skunks. Didn't get too many of those at my old house but they are plentiful here. 😂
Bottom line, Nina...it's always a trade-off as no place is perfect. What I value most is family and mountains.

@ninaschannel3218 I did a driving video in fall. But it just didn't do it justice. There is wonderful foliage around here. I doubt very many places could compare with the south and the east where fall is concerned, however. Winter is lovely. We get about four snows a year and yet not too much to overwhelm.
