ALWAYS 'chock' the wheels that are to be left on the ground before lifting the car, even if you only use house bricks or pieces of 2x2, don't rely on just leaving it in gear or the parking brake to keep you safe.

For extra safety you should also use wheel chock blocks to stop the car from rolling ,if you lift the back end of the car it will roll 👍

Can you please elaborate on that for us, DIYers ? Is it due to the stability only or due to some other reasons too?

@NINJA THEORY I'm aware of the pinch welds, place where I'd lift a car with my widow-maker to change tires when needed. I'm also aware of the dedicated lifting points on my Seat Leon (VW Golf frame) which seems to divide internet into half - one says it's ok to lift on one side only, the other says it's only for 4-point lifting (which is what Seat docs (elsa) say).
My problem as noob who likes to poke around, learn and fix stuff around the car is: where else can I lift this car and actually use stands properly? Every YT video I see states something else. There are many videos and posts at various forums that say subframe is the strongest point and it's ok to lift there.
I bought stands for my car just to realize that the shape that should hold my car is useless for my use - I have no place to put it on. I could maybe lower it unto a subframe but if anything it doesn't seem safe because it can slide off there.
      It almost seems like if I don't have a proper 4-point lift I can't do much :|
