    Loved the music on this one… the way it built up. Great day out and really good to re-visit Peak Railway. If anyone is wondering the entrance is now completely tarmaced and no issues getting to the car park at all 😊

    The peek railway should replace hs2, now that its been scrapped - from Manchester to Derby to London.

    Nice video lads ,i remember in the late 70s early 80s when they proposed to re-open the whole line Matlock-Buxton , adverts in all the rail mags' etc' sadly never happened

      Thank you 👍
      What a great line that would have been.
      But what a project and upkeep for those tunnels and viaducts.

    Thanks for the video today. Back in the hospital again. Was going to have lunch, and the premier was coming.on. A great video as always, and I appreciate viewing them. Hopefully I'll be home soon. God bless you and your family, and of course the Boss also. This made my day. See you on the next. Cheers Paul!

    All that rolling stock and locos out in the weather! Such a crying shame that no consideration be given to overhead cover prior to purchasing stock. Such a pity and many will probably be lost to the elements before the volunteers get to actually turn a spanner on them. Thanks for the video Paul, a real insight into the heritage scene there. Cheers mate.

      Yeah it's a real shame. Some great locos there. Not a lot of money around at the moment I suppose but hopefully something will eventually progress with them.

      If a heritage railway/individual thought about undercover storage before purchasing an item of rolling stock then nothing would have been saved.

    14:27 You are indeed correct, that is us! The section of line into that station is newly-laid and very much Work in Progress, as is our fleet of locos. Although we aren’t running and passenger services at this point in time, our team of volunteers have been working hard behind the scenes to get us towards a position where we can do so. Despite the many setbacks, we are still here and are looking forward to welcoming visitors for train rides in the not too distant future.

      All the very best with the continued progress. It's great to hear things are progressing. I look forward to visit again and having a look around when you're up and running 👍

    Really nice video. Funnily enough, this is my next project. Ambergate to The end. And “Peak Rail” is where I’m going to be tomorrow (25/05/2024)…

    I see there are plans to extend to the original(very attractive) Rowsley station, so that's good to hear. Such a shame Darley Dale station is all boarded up. I'm sure there are any number of people who would love to renovate it and get it in to some kind of use. It looks like a lovely building with great potential. A shame to see so many things, including bridges rotting away in the open...maybe there are plans to use these somewhere? I do hope so. Thanks for showing us around.

      I since read that one of the footbridge arrived from the Midland Railway Centre to be erected at Darley Dale. I'm not sure which one though. I think Matlock could do with one too.
      Hopefully they start making progress to Rowsley, I assume to the site of the 2nd generation station there

    Oh thank you. Visited on 1 July, there was a 1940s day with fun stuff at Rowsley. NB line is due to be extended further into Rowsley. I want to renovate Darley Dale! Check out the lovely cafe at Hassops station. By the way a railway worker showed me the token exchange box, hidden in the yard at the front!

      😉👍 there's another video in the can about the next bit up to Rowsley village. Fantastic stuff. It really is a shame about darley dale building isn't it

      @@WobblyRunner ..is it for sale? It should have listed status as part of a preserved railway.

    • @WobblyRunner
      @WobblyRunner  Год назад

      I don't believe it's for sale. The whole darley site seemed to be closed last week. I remember years ago there was a little shop on the other platform. Even the toilets were locked up.

    have they finally fixed the road into peak rail at rowsley, last time i tried to go down i had to turn back as the road was so bad.

    • @WobblyRunner

    Hi Mr Wobbly, the peak outside is a class 44, one of only 10 ever made 👍

    • @WobblyRunner
      @WobblyRunner  Год назад +1

      I'd have never have guessed. Do they have 2 class 44s?

    • @stephenwilde3985
      @stephenwilde3985 Год назад +1

      I think the one inside is a 45, my friend is a driver and fireman there, 2 weeks ago I was allowed a cab ride on the 040 saddle tank they have, they even allowed me to shovel coal into the fire box, a very special day for me 😁😁😁👍

    • @julianlane8313
      @julianlane8313 Год назад +2

      Im sure the one you featured with the sheet over and head light is a 45, I believe there is a 44 there too.

    • @WobblyRunner
      @WobblyRunner  Год назад +1

      Yeah that's what I thought. I assumed the green 44 was in the shed. No number on the blue one, but I'm sure there is only one 44 at the railway and that's not the blue one

    • @WobblyRunner
      @WobblyRunner  Год назад +2

      Just had it confirmed. The blue one under the sheet is 46035 formerly Ixion. 👍
