Thank you Nissan for not trying to duplicate or imitate the Porsche 911. This car has finesse! A breath of fresh air. Nothing against Porsche but when the 240 stepped on the scene in 69 they were different cars on different paths. Good to see the continuation of the legacy.
A few years ago when things got tough they reduced their motorsports programs to just Formula E, Super GT and GT-R GT3 customer program. Nice to see them dipping their toes back into the GT4 pool.
Unfortunately won't be the same for consumers, that was a track variant so they can test it. Oura will have filters, cats and all that, hopefully it still sounds good
Sign me up. I love driving. I love the entire process of limited time, full assess, reset, test, tune, track time, full assess, race day. I seen they developed some new nomex lineup of safety gear with new fabrics and treatments. Love it all. GT4 is my fav! I'd race anything that I get to give some feedback on setup in. I like to extract every bit of whatever it is and showcase whatever key things that thing does well. Hopefully really well. :)
Glad to see this so much. Been saying it makes sense for Nissan to have the br engine when people kept telling me won't.. and Ive wanted Nissan to kind of follow the Porsche offerings...have a Nismo and or gt4 version... But keep it to where it can't be replicated by lower trims so easily. Man, I'm stoked!
@@Unxpekted yeah, I've been on the VR platforms and mettled with it, as well as seem AMS/nostrum performance, but I mean like how Porsche has its 911 Carrera, turbo, gt3/4 stuff. Just completely different platforms. I.e., like if the Nismo z had a variation of the vr38 or modified NA version of a 3.8/4.1 vhr as a street trim for the general public., Or both, as higher trimsl levels... There’s really nothing body work change on this thing that makes it look unique other than the canards and wing compared to the standard car I really wonder what the nismo Z will actually look like when they finally release one
Nissan is the last company that needs to spend all this money and time developing a GT4 race car. More focus on production of the Z and cars that people actually want to buy, and I don't know maybe make a CVT that doesn't mechanically total a car. For a car that is basically two old platforms put together they can't seem to make anywhere near enough of them since dealers and influencers are the only people driving them right now
Nissan needs to use closed deck block on the new Z for boost potential, even if the closed deck is made by machined in aluminum pieces. Also a hydraulic steering using electric pump. Z is not going to have auto steering anyways.
i owned loads of 370's, i flip them, thats the reason why i'd owned several ones, I stopped dealing with them at a certain point of time as i noticed that they fail in the market, there isn't much demand on them, this new Z is just the same car with a new front/rear, they didin't even bother changing or updating the interior door panels or seats! they're still the same, before the car becomes available in the market i can tell u about the seats, as they're the same, once you rest your head on the headrest you'd feel the headrest poles poke ur back :) luckily they're not too long to poke other areas XD the new one would 90% fail as its a 2 seater and people don't want that, I noticed that people would buy any car with 4 seats to avail the space to daily use! these manufacturers should've learned that by now! its 2022!! people started wearing suits to fly and some companies are still not able to figure out what would work and what wouldn't Moreover, Nissan is goin real fast down the hill after lozin Carl Ghosn, that lebanese dude picked them from a deep hole and they kicked him in it!! Is it just me or is this ugly af. I have a 350 and I stare at it like a super model but this bleh. So heavy 3100+lbs? The era is officially over. It sounds sweet tho and dig the fact it is a lot faster but you tell me none of their designers have NFS?
This car is 3100lbs which is lighter than a 350z. The base car is heavy though at 3500lbs. Turbos, plumbing and modern safety tech adds pounds. This GT4 car is fully stripped and is a track beast. But I am sure there will be tuners out there who will take 200lbs out of the car while keeping a full interior and upping the boost making it very capable.

vr38 sounding right?
