truly sad for his family, but Eleanor makes a great point about how the townspeople were just /hoping/ it was a juicy story, so they could feel like they wouldn't be targeted if they kept to themselves

"If you had these OCD tendencies, you wouldn't bring it up" well... as a person with OCD.. I probably would?? As someone with diagnosed OCD the phrase 'OCD tendencies' just makes me uncomfortable tbh. Also I would most certainly bring it up. I have a thing with doors and if I knew I was shutting a door 50 times on camera in a crime scene I would most definitely mention it before hand

I love true crime and your videos are definitely my favourite. There's no effort to make it scary or ominous. The way you're just telling the story and you've clearly done a lot of research really makes your videos great. They're just done for the interest in the genre, not trying to make it all about monsters, just people. I really appreciate the authenticity of your content and just generally love it.
When she was talking about how odd it was that he had so many photos of him posing with his guns and how that looked suspicious, all I could think was how common that is in America. I know several people who take photos like that. I honestly wish it was uncommon here.
I'm American and I know zero people who have ever or would ever pose with a gun like that. (but several who have been photographed aiming/shooting one at a range). I'd say that's pretty odd even in the States.
@@nthgth Maybe it depends on where you live in the US. I have relatives and acquaintances who have pictures like that as their Facebook profile pictures. And not just one or two, but at least a dozen. I live in "gun country" where you see billboards for gun expos all the time and signs outside every pawn shop advertising their guns for sale.
@@ShayRenee fair enough, yeah that's nothing like here in NY. In that context I could see it, it's a more commonly accepted hobby so why not pose like you're proud of it? In NY though (as in the UK), that would largely just raise eyebrows. (Fairly or not)
@@nthgth New York sounds preferable to me. I'm not a fan of the gun culture here in the Bible belt/Midwest. Too many insecure people with easy access to guns here (ie the fact that guns purchased at those expos have no background checks or waiting periods) that are all too quick to use them.
Did you hear about an Uber driver that got killed by a 16 year old rider? This happened in Chicago in 2017. You should look it up, the whole story is insane! And it also shows the risks that these workers take everyday, it’s crazy!
Agreed! I remember been in a taxi once with my parents when I was like 10 and the driver was telling my dad about a time someone sat behind him and stabbed him through the back of the chair 😱 luckily he was alright but I’ve always thought of driving jobs as being dangerous since hearing that!
i dont think she will, if u remember, on one of her videos she got requests to do a crime from america and and she said shes only doing crimes from the uk...
That reminds me of the case that’s the exact opposite and equally terrifying…. It was a drunk girl who called for an Uber and some creep pulled up (he had been driving around to bars hoping for this) and she just assumed it was her Uber ride. Because she was intoxicated and complacent about it she just got right in without checking it and the guy had the childproof locks on the car. He drove off she realized rather soon that he was not an Uber driver and he attacked raped beat and murdered her. It was so sad. She was a really successful smart beautiful young woman who had what seemed would be a really promising future. People get so complacent about Uber and Lyft when it can be absolutely anyone. Just because you have no record doesn’t mean you aren’t an absolute creep and predator. Can medallions (licenses) in New York cost an average of a million dollars… those guys aren’t going to do that part time or last minute as a way to be a predator…. Uber and Lyft however makes it incredibly easy and gives people a very false sense of security.
Stewart seemed so very lovely- he's the kind of man I would trust in a heartbeat. Hearing about his family and how much he loved them actually made me tear up a little.
I honestly can’t imagine how it must feel hearing loads of sirens, thinking it’s nothing to do with you and then finding out they were attending to your own son. I feel so bad for him and his family.

I’ve been having a hard time with my bestfriend moving far away and she’s gotten a new friend. I am happy for her but she joked about her being her new “bestfriend” which is something i’ve been insecure about.. i don’t wanna lose her and have her replace me. You’ve been helping me a lot Eleanor, wherever you see this or not. Thank you. I miss her a lot and it pains me to know she’s probably gonna be gone soon.
Hey, I know best friends moving away is scary and not super fun but I just want you to know my best friend who moved away 4 years ago across state and I are still best friends and talk every day. My high school friend group and I still talk 2 years after graduation. A best friend from elementary of mine still messages me sometimes even tho she moved to Las Vegas. Don't give up hope that you can make a friendship work even if they don't live near you.
I went through the same thing when my best friend moved away when we were teens. Now we're adults with new people who could be called "best friends" more local to us, but that label doesn't matter, we still pick up where we left off whenever we get the chance to visit, and have the same bond as we used to. It's natural and okay to drift apart/move closer to other people. It doesn't mean your friendship is over. You'll meet lots of new people in the years to come, too, and still get to stay in touch with your friend. What matters most is that you guys still care about each other no matter the distance. :)
i'm so sorry sweetheart, i've been there. when i was younger i had two best friends, both at different times they were everything to me, the only people i trusted the most. one by one they both moved away, kerys moved to wales and paige moved to oldham. it hurt a lot and i blames myself even though it wasn't me at all. but eventually you find other people because soon you'll be much more open to finding new friends and spreading out a little bit more, rather than staying content with your one best friend, rather than holding on to someone that's moved away, still keep contact but realise that you're going to drift but it's okay, you'll find friends you never thought you'd find and they'll be friends for life

God...
You witnessed the head of year taking him away to inform him that his dad had been brutally murdered? Wow.
I’m so sorry

And this is why I panic every time my mum says "let's just get a taxi"

But the taxi driver was the one killed-

Hi Eleanor, I was wondering if you could do a video on Brian Shookman. He went missing in 2012 and he was a family friend. There isn’t much on the case but there was a cold justice episode made about him not too long ago. I know there’s probably not enough to make an actual video about it but if you could I know his sister and mom would appreciate it so much.
I’m glad you keep trying to get this recognition for him and his family. Hopefully she sees it one day

As someone with diagnosed OCD the phrase 'OCD tendencies' just makes me uncomfortable tbh. Also I would most certainly bring it up. I have a thing with doors and if I knew I was shutting a door 50 times on camera in a crime scene I would most definitely mention it before hand

When you’ve memorised Eleanor’s disclaimer as well as she has.
@@ShayRenee Show me someone that idolizes guns and I’ll show you a very insecure individual with low self-esteem
How exactly does one just get so bored one makes the decision to commit a murder? I wonder how that mental conversation went...
Saddo she has done crimes from America before though
"Loo-ored" "ugh" "lured" 🤣🤪 that word gets you everytime 🥰🥰
Stewart seemed so very lovely- he's the kind of man I would trust in a heartbeat. Hearing about his family and how much he loved them actually made me tear up a little.
I honestly can’t imagine how it must feel hearing loads of sirens, thinking it’s nothing to do with you and then finding out they were attending to your own son. I feel so bad for him and his family.
The way you describe the victims is so touching and really gives life to them. I always appreciated that about your videos! You tell more than just a scary true crime story- you help shed light in a really human way
Imagine killing someone just because you wanna know how it feels 🤦♀️
Imagine killing someone at all! What is that thought process?!
For the record I don’t think most of us wonder how it feels. I sure don’t.
