Aww man this is such an ideal gift to give to a child for his/ her bedroom, it'll help them sleep at night such a cute concept! We can even add some glow in the dark paint in the mix to make it more appealing and attractive especially to kids!! 💕💕 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I got 6 5x7 canvases and I'm looking through your miniature painting playlist for ideas. I see at least 6 of them I could do on these 5x7 canvases I have laying around. Going to give your tutorials a try. I've been watching your tutorials for a long time and need to just try some. Lol I'm an acrylic newbie with limited funds so I'm starting with some smaller ones first.
I have been really into night sky’s lately. I loved this tutorial !! Definitely gonna put this into my top ten must paints :) Thank you for sharing your talent with us !! Much love to you !! 😘
Awesome! This has been by far the best night time sky I have seen yet..I know what I will be watching over this up coming weekend and practicing from watching..Look forward to watching other of your videos..Thank you!
You know I'm an absolute fan Joni !!! And this one is really beautiful. I really need to give a try to clouds. I've been really touched by what you say about loving what you do and being an artist as a regular job. I wish I could be a full time artist (even if I only started to paint one year ago), but in France people think it's not a real job ! And at the same time I need to find a way to earn money to be able to financially participate to the family expenses and be able to pay for my children university fees ! I'm so torn and don't know which direction to go ! But I won't stop painting, that's for sure !
Such a small painting with beautiful details, I love how the moon shines on the clouds. This is a great painting with perfect night ambience! 💖💕😊Big like!👍
Aww, this is so incredible! I can just watch you paint daily 🥰 you make it look so easy!!! ❤️❤️ my favourite part is those fluffy clouds; I feel like I can fall into them! 😊
So gorgeous, you make it look so easy. Clouds are definitely hard for me. I'm a beginner though. Do you think the filbert brush would help me make them easier?
Joni Young Art Joni! I tried out your painting in a 3 inch wood round and I am IN LOVE!!! I love the way you’re has so much movement so I tried to emulate it as a quick exercise and I love the way it turned out! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Carey, I use acrylic Gesso from Daler & Rowney. What it does is helps the canvas take the paint better and not soak into the canvas, which ultimately causes fading and dullness over time...If that makes sense?? 😗 I apply one coat, let dry and sand lightly if needed. It should feel smooth
Makes perfect sense. My paints seem to dry so quickly, that blending becomes a problem. Maybe I'll try gesso and see if it helps any! Thank you for the help!
It may help some but I do know if y ur working in a really warm room it will dry the paint much more quickly.. have you tried a medium to slow the drying process down? You mix it into your acrylic paint and it works great!
Not sure if you ever watched Game of Thrones, but my goal painting is to do something close to this. There’s a scene in the last season that is like your painting in the sky, you should google it, so beautiful!
Gorgeous!!! Night skies are my favorite!💙🖤 Do you ever use anything to extend drying time? Just water? This has been a struggle for me...working & blending fast enough, before it starts drying!
I always use a paint extender when I do stuff like this cuz I am so not quick lol. Matte medium works really good for getting those soft air brushed clouds and if I am working on a larger canvas 16x20 or bigger I use a paint retarder to help get that back ground blended and what not :) You should really try out either one, you will be quite pleasantly surprised :))
The green paint she's using is not hunter green. It's sap green by Amsterdam. You can see the serial number on the tube of paint in the video when she shows it. Amsterdam doesn't make a hunter green. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone else who was confused by this and had trouble finding the right paint.
Have you ever had throw away some of your old canvases because they they were too messed up to paint over, even with gesso? I threw away some old canvases that I just couldn't save and fix. They had too much little chunks and build up from previous painting attempts that I gessoed over. I bought those canvases a long time ago when I didn't know how to use acrylic like I do now with all these RUclips tutorials. I didn't know better and realized that I had to make sure any chunks or unleveled paint need to be taken care of while the acrylic is still wet or else it just dries and is hard to gesso over without seeing little chunks and build up on the painting. I was just hoarding old canvases that couldn't be saved and I didn't want to waste paint to make a beautiful painting just to see unattractive chunks on my final result. Let's be honest, the canvases are at least cheaper than paint. I could buy packs of canvases cheap, but paint can be pretty expensive to buy if I'm just waisting it on old canvases and getting disappointed in the way my finished paintings look.
I’ve thrown out loads of paintings and regretted it. What I like to do is recycle by painting over old ones and turn those dried paint lumps into art by playing on them within my landscapes!! They can make the painting more 3D Sometimes I apply gold leaf over them as well, so much fun!! Give it a try and see what you can do with those old canvases 👍🎨☺️
i love this painting! im not sure where i went wrong, but it turned into an ugly blob of colors. i couldnt get the white to stand out for the peaks. im assuming its because i had a dirty paint brush, on wet dark paint. it looked really good when joni did it! but i dont think this tutorial is realistic for me. it could be my brushes. i was working with a larger canvas. i am left with a blob of blue hues and ugly swirls. maybe i will try it again tomorrow without the video.
Your grateful heart is as beautiful as this painting. Thank you for sharing your talent❤

So gorgeous, you make it look so easy. Clouds are definitely hard for me. I'm a beginner though. Do you think the filbert brush would help me make them easier?
Yes it definitely would! It has the perfect end and shape to help form cloud shapes much easier👌😊
@@joniyoungart awesome, thank you very much. I am going to get one asap 😁
Currently binge watching all your videos! You are so talented :) and I’m so happy you use acrylic and not oils coz I can actually afford it 😅 heh

Hi Joni! Beautiful painting!
Question: what brand gesso do you recommend? And do you think the gesso helps you to blend easier?
Thank you Carey,
I use acrylic Gesso from Daler & Rowney. What it does is helps the canvas take the paint better and not soak into the canvas, which ultimately causes fading and dullness over time...If that makes sense?? 😗

I’m going to try this one. What green would I use in place of hunter green?
Phthalo green and Hookers green are two that would work as well👌😁
Ok thank you 🙃
If Im Painting this on wood, can I still use water? This tutorial is amazing
Yes but just be sure to seal the wood first😘
❤️
Not sure if you ever watched Game of Thrones, but my goal painting is to do something close to this. There’s a scene in the last season that is like your painting in the sky, you should google it, so beautiful!
Ooh cool! I’ve never watched it, I’ve heard it’s great though so I’ll have to i think☺️ Happy Painting Sabrina🎨

Gorgeous!!! Night skies are my favorite!💙🖤 Do you ever use anything to extend drying time? Just water? This has been a struggle for me...working & blending fast enough, before it starts drying!
I am a fast painter so I don’t use an extender or much water at all, but I know there are some good ones out there for acrylics😊
I always use a paint extender when I do stuff like this cuz I am so not quick lol. Matte medium works really good for getting those soft air brushed clouds and if I am working on a larger canvas 16x20 or bigger I use a paint retarder to help get that back ground blended and what not :)

Thank you for your video :3, Can I have the name brand of the mop brush?
thank you !!

Hopefully this is helpful to anyone else who was confused by this and had trouble finding the right paint.
How do you keep your paint from drying out so you can blend?
Water and a slow drying medium
