Thanks for showing what a playthrough of the Arcade version of the game looks like on official hardware! I kinda took the Dreamcast version for granted. This version is also good, but the two versions have very noticeable differences.
Arcade version censors Ivy's default outfit by giving her a bodysuit while the Dreamcast version, no matter which region, keeps the skin shown.
Oh,really? I thought that it was due to the hardware limitations on the arcade version. Pretty cool fact! 😎
Imo she looks kinda cooler with the bodysuit ngl. Both versions are nice though
Transcending history and the world. A tale of souls and swords eternally retold.
Voldo! Xianghua! Hwang Seong Gyeong! Ivy! Sophitia! Yoshimitsu! Lizardman! Siegfried! Rock! Nightmare!
Ah, i remember this game. Remember how my dad helped to beat Inferno and get on the ending. I don't really know what the hell am i doing, just pressing button randomly. 💀
Thanks for the proper 60 FPS capture.
I hope u get big someday man I know how hard it is to get views, I make gaming videos myself and it's hard to get views keep grinding bro your going to blow🔥
Didn’t see this comment until now! Thanks for the kind words bro!
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade No problem, left a sub:)
Was Jeff Manning the announcer for this version? Some of his quotes sound different than in the DC version, some sound similar but down-pitched, and overall comparing him from both it's Smash 64 and DC SoulCalibur renditions, he sounds rather different.
Can any of you look up if this is going to be getting an official Arcade1Up version?
I wonder why they went with blue lifebars in the original arcade version? :s
Also Siegfried gameplay is this one
OH DAMN, Those huge eyes that SoulEdge has in this version. its kinda creepy on how it moves tho.🥶
I like the dreamcast SoulEdge.
Is it just me or did Namco remove that SoulEdge eye movement in Soulcalibur 2?
it blinks sometimes in Soul Calibur 2 but the eye doesn't move around to look at everything like it does in the original game which kinda sucks.
I'm not sure what I find more interesting:
The lack of dialogue/ speaking from characters (a la Tekken 3)
Or the fact Nightmare has a different ending theme here (I believe this theme is used by Astaroth and/ or Voldo on the Dreamcast) While it fits Nightmare as a character, it doesn't fit the tone of the ending as well as the theme he would get in the Dreamcast port imo.
From what I’ve seen, the Japanese version of the arcade has voice acting but the American/Export versions have none but grunts, which I find a bit weird. I haven’t played the Dreamcast/Xbox 360 versions of SC that much tbh.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade I see. I always assumed it was just Arthur whenever I saw gameplay of him given he is a censored Mitsurugi, so it kind of made sense.
Maybe it's just a case of the default language being Japanese and not wanting to alienate other regions? After all, Soul Edge/ Blade at least had character-specific languages akin to modern Tekken. Granted, I feel like the arcade version of that game may have been Japanese only too...
What version of the game is it and how did you unlock the characters? I've been desperately digging for Info and so far I've found nothing
I think my board is version B and has all characters unlocked by default. I didn’t need to unlock anything. The Namco games usually have a “Time release” feature which means that the game has to be on for a certain amount of weeks and have a certain amount of play hours for characters to start showing up.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcadeThank you so much! I've been using MAME and so far none of the version B roms have has the characters. I originally thought you had to beat the arcade mode with a certain amount of characters like the Dreamcast version. I'm glad I finally have the info I need!
Do you know if you have to be playing the game to unlock the characters? If not, I might leave it on
That’s what I don’t know unfortunately, I think that someone once told me that you can unlock the characters using cheats on MAME. I don’t remember how and frankly I never tried it.
@@FIGHTERSCHOICEArcade Definitely possible. I've done this the few times I did play the arcade port on MAME. However, I cannot remember where I got the cheats, but I'm fairly certain it was a large cheat file that included a number of games. If not, I may have found a RUclips video that included links to both the rom and cheat file. From there, you'd only have up open a menu while in hand to enable cheats.
Nightmare's voice is a deeper pitched Siegfried. Or at least it seems that way...
