    I have the 2007 SX model and Im looking at replacing the standard six stacker with a Android Auto, Blue Tooth, touch screen type that are on sale at Repco and Super Cheep Auto, so Panasonic, JVC etc but I clueless about what ks required, ie. do I need new mounting frame, how about steering wheel countrol (hey, maybe I can put a near current Lancer steering wheel in the 380?). I'm clueless. Any advice. Thanks.

      Hi there 1969cmp changing the standard for a aftermarket 'double din' stereo/entertainment centre shouldn't be a problem (you may need to remove some small pieces to make it all fit inside), connecting the steering wheel controls I would say are near on impossible. You will need to look at the back of both steering wheels to make sure the centre splines are the same, and the electrical connection points.

    Is this the same for a 2005 VR TW magna? Mine has volume issues, not sure if wiring or the unit.. just bought car but don't have it in my hands just yet. Trying to get an idea before I get it.

      @RossPerryProductions  6 лет назад +1

      Hi there, it wont be too different thats for sure, if its volume I would say its the amplifier within the unit, replacement would be the best way, you should find a new unit on ebay or in a scrap yard, make sure you get the code with it though.

      @@RossPerryProductions seeing I know nothing about getting new headunits haha is there any with Bluetooth or Aux capabilities that you can refer to me? That fit in this dashboard and don't involve changing any wiring? Thankyou so much and thanks again for these videos!!

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  6 лет назад +1

      @@scenenuf no problem at all, normally these actually have the standard 16pin ISO connection which is pretty standard for 80% of car stereos, however if yours is not then there are adaptors available (just plug and play). If your car is the same as the 380/gallant then you would need a stereo that is 'double din' which is the size. There are plenty of after market units available out there which are bluetooth or Aux compatible. I hope that helps. Ross

    Im in the process to buying a sony xplode stereo have already brought the panels to replace current one would there be steering wheel function on a different head deck??? Is it common these days

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  7 лет назад

      Hi there, there isn't an easy fix i'm afraid, If the sony does have a remote input you could get the correct socket and try and wired the cables direct to the cars remote socket (sockets will 99% be different) the easiest button to connect would be mute as most aftermarket stereos have this as a separate cable labelled 'remote'. You will also loose the use of the telephone facility (if you have it) if you remove the blue parrot box behind the stereo, if you have the right wire harness this could stay and still work.

    I have a problem with mine, sames radio as the one you just showed being replaced, although the radio works, the volume control on my steering wheel won't go up or down when the steering wheel is in a straight line position, it does work when turning corners.
    Another problem is the light behind the clock on the dash is out, can i get to it with the radio out of the dash?

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  7 лет назад

      Hi Ditmar, it sounds like the contacts on the steering wheel need cleaning, I am changing my steering wheel in the next few weeks so I will make a video, Please remember to disconnect the battery for over an hour to discharge the airbag before taking it off. You should be able to get to the clock that way, however you may have to remove the vents also.

      Cheers Ross, i have my 380 in for a complete paint respray this week, the clear coat was breaking down, the roof and boot were turning white in patches and it's too good a car to just let go. I look forward to your next video.

    I have this car and exactly the same radio. Can you put an AUX cable into this radio?

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  2 года назад +1

      Hi Kerry, unfortunately not, and mine had Bluetooth for phone but you couldn't play music through it. The best you can do is buy one a bluetooth radio transmitter that you put into the 12v socket (you then programme the radio to the same frequency). they work ok but you do sometimes get interference and have to change frequency

      Hi there, unfortunately I no longer have the car, however I did change it and it was relatively easy other than you have to pry the filter box open, hopefully someone else has made a video for you. sorry I cannot be of more help. Ross

      Hi Roby, unfortunately I have done that in the past, the two options were to contact the dealer with the units serial number which you will need to take it out to get. Or you might be able to find someone online that has the software to crac it. Sorry for the bad news. Ross

    • @RossPerryProductions
      @RossPerryProductions  3 года назад +1

      Hi there Seyoon, there are a few websites you can get them from or ebay, you will need the cars VIN and the serial number from the back of the unit. If not then you will need to go to your local Mitsubishi dealer.
