Wow very excited to try. Thank you very much for taking the time to make the videos. Have been watching them non stop, loving them. Can’t wait to try everything in your videos.
This is the same as what I do. Here in the UK people put all kind of things on their hooks to achieve the same result. Glue, putty, tubing, rings etc. I prefer to just spend a few extra mins using the line. I've also tried having the hair come off the bottom of the bend of the hook. Where it's U shapped if that makes sense. For things like pop ups.

Nice I use these little rubber rings that serve the same purpose and keep the hair inline with the hook shank. Cool video man. With mono i never had to do this cause it's stiffer and stays more inline but with braid you have to in order to get more hook ups.
Thanks for the reply! I wasn’t thinking of just the hair rig I created a leader which included your whole rig which I would attach to my main braid line.
@@OutsidewithTom I know it works, seen many video's , I just wish I can figure it out, doesn't look that hard, I would rather catch them on a single hook than the treble hooks that I been using.
Great video, I have one question do you strip the coating from your braided line to tie the hair and do the wrap or just tie the rig with the line as is?
I used to use mono for my hair rigs when I first started. You'll still catch fish, but probably less fish. The point of using braid is that it's less rigid than mono, allowing the bait to be sucked up off the bottom more easily by the fish. I noticed a significant improvement in my hook up rate after switching to braid. I only use braid on the hook link, my main line is mono.
I wanted to let you know I made a video about my rig I use (method cage, etc)... I put a link in the description to your channel because I said in the video I copied your idea for the hair rig and did not want to seem like It was my orignal idea. It will be released at 9:15AM 7-16-2021.. I do mention your name and give you credit and I am sending them your way on how to tie the rig. I also use your DIY spod with some modifications and people keep asking me to make that video, but I just send them to you. I know you are not on FB (smart man), but I post a lot of your links in there when people ask me where did you learn that..
@@OutsidewithTom gee, thanks for the explanation. I do mostly Striper & Halibut fishing. Catfish too here in Northern California. I was just asking a simple question there Bud. I thought maybe you would answer it.
Thank you Kindly. I always feared tying hair rigs until this video. After I got comfortable tying I ended up tying a couple dozen.
👍
Specifically watched this to see how to get the hair to sit farther down the shank. Thanks!
👍
You explained very fully and accurately, it was the best training video I have ever seen
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you fie for making this video!🙏🎣

Glad you are finding the videos useful!
Bro you just eliminated the need for a rig ring or doing a small strip of shrink tube to do the exact same thing! Great job.
My thoughts exactly, thanks!
Truly a great job, I have made some of my own knots that work well maybe I should make a video on it😂🎣

Most interesting. I've not seen this hair rig variant before. Will tie up a few and give them a try this weekend. Thanks or the information.
Glad you found it useful, thanks Bill!

Great idea, thanks from Italy🇮🇹👍💪
Thanks!
Can you find a Swiss cut number 4 jewlers file?
Your hook looks a little blunt and needs a touching up
Great tutorial Tom!
Thanks!
Great video man🎣🐡! Keep up the hard work and tight linz 🤙🎣
Thanks Jake!
thank you very nice video.
Thank you sir.
One more thing Tom, those single loop knots don't slip with the braided line? Thanks
Hasn't been a problem for me.
Really enjoy your videos! How do you store your extra rigs? I just haven’t figured that out yet? Would really appreciate some direction!
Thanks, Barry. I store my rigs on a Tackle Buddy.

@@barryblankenship5418 Ah, I see. Maybe look into a Rigrap for storing those. Good luck!
Just curious if your hair rig is your 30# what’s your main line. Where’s the breaking point when pulling free of snags?
Gear and tackle list is in the description.
I have yet to catch a carp with a hair rig. Will try your set up, I don't tie the hair to the hook maybe that is the problem.
Probably just coincidence that you haven't caught fish with it. It's a proven rig that works. Good luck!

@@davidgarcia9808 Yeah, single hook is much better than treble. Keep experimenting, you'll get it.

Thanks Johnny. I don't strip the line, I just use it as it is.
I hate braided line with a white hot passion. Have you ever tried these with mono?

Why don't you just put the corn directly on the hook?
Because then I would catch less fish.
