Thank you Pastor David Guzik for sharing this great message from the scripture. It is time to awake. We all hate laziness as the word of God condemns a lazy person. We should be strong in understanding the word of God and in our prayers so that our eyes will be opened and we can understand and respond to the will of God.
I am benefiting from your serious of videos.
    God Bless You.🙏🙏🙏🙏

It feels like there's a parallel between Jonah sleeping through the storm and Jesus sleeping through the storm. Two men following similar but opposite paths.
Where Jonah ran from God, Jesus walked to the cross. When Jonah cursed those who God saved, Jesus was cursed by those He saved. Jonah slept through the storm and asked to die to stop it. Jesus spoke the storm calm and rubuked those thinning death was upon them.
Both men had 3 days in the depths.
Two men, with similar stories, but vastly different responses.
Jesus lives! ♥️ and is Yahweh God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑

Every man cried out to his god
Lord Jesus help those who are worshiping false gods
Who are trusting in the false gods of their ancestors

What if Jona trusted God and knew God had everthing in controle.

Pastor Lance replies - The reason Jonah took ship and headed in the opposite direction from where God sent him is because Jonah, DID know God. Jonah did not WANT the Ninevites to repent because they were Israel's enemy.

True - no excuses for the lazy careless inconsiderate Christian, and yes no where to be found when it comes to volunteering work or service. No need to hide, God sees. Wake up o sleeper, the Proverbs also speak about this.

ironic you bring up Jesus sleeping in the boat, I too was drawn to that thought, and I think there is a parallel typology missed here, in that Jonah albeit not like Jesus, tho Jesus does refer to him in NT Scriptures, knew that in the end, there was no reason to panic, for when it's God's plan in disaster, and He is in charge, for us to rest calmly knowing the outcome will be to His will being done.
I don't think the disciples did as well. Yes the men on board were "religious men" to the "wrong God" and did all they can to save a man who looked to be lazy and worthless to them, still not wanting him to die, they asked him if he knew the cause to the unusual trouble they were having. When Jonah confessed and told them what to do, much as they didn't want to, they did seek and it seems convert to Jonah's God while in the torment (more of God's will being done, just like in Nineveh) even if Jonah didn't like what looked like sure death, or any pagans repenting, he was a proud man of his nationality and religion.
It is an interesting story to say the least. The men converted, Nineveh repented, God relented, and Jonah wasn't happy, he was looking for an atomic Sodom and Gomorrah blow up day. God was very merciful as could be to all involved. Whether or not we see 2nd chance Jonah on the other side, is yet to be determined by us, but Jesus knows, and I have a hunch, He wouldn't had referred to Him, if he wasn't safely also in His hands. The love of the Father much like the love of the Son, is not to let those perish for those who love, believe and follow Him.
    Thoughts anyone?
