Don’t know much about keyboards myself but ducky is a very respected brand and you can really just go brown or red for switches and you will more than likely enjoy your mechanical experience. Unless you’re a typist or have a PhD thesis to write, in which case, get blues instead.
The selling point of the GMMK is the hotswappability. That's what it has over Ducky. Ducky has better quality. Outside of mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, hotswappability is not what most people really care about. The GMMK is good for people who want to test out new switches in an actual keyboard, usually people well vested into the mechanical keyboard community, or people new to the mechanical keyboard community. The Ducky is good everyone else who doesn't care about the hotswappability.
I also think the GMMK looks way better. But that's subjective. The new all white Ducky One 2 Mini looks all right though. But yeah, I'm getting the GMMK just to be able to try out different switches for a while before I invest in a more permanent, high end board. And that sure wouldn't be a Ducky either. For quality, you want like Varmilo, Filco or Leopold - or like HHKB/Realforce...
I think I found a fix to this issue, if you look at the user manual you can see that you can change the debounce time which basically means how far you have to click it down for it to trigger, I found that if you put 25 ms which is Fn + Alt + O, it ALMOST fixes it, I have found that it occurs much less often so I hope this helps.
My only gripe about the aura keycaps is that they don't show you the ALT functions of some of the keys that you will need to know how to use on a 60% keyboard (the F keys and the nav cluster)
@@hypnoticlizard9693 i have tried box navies and they hurt my wrist to much from the spring weight and in jades the springs are too light for the thick click bar. Box pinks are imo the best.

I'd consider grabbing the Flaretech switches. I got the Wooting One and honestly, since switching to it after using a Cherry MX Brown Ducky, MX Blue DAS and Razer keyboard, Razer Oranges, and Cherry MX Blacks on a Steelseries 6Gv2, Flaretech switches feel and sound much better than anything I've tried on any other keyboard. I'm holding off until Wooting makes a 60%, because their keyboard implementation and their software is phenomenal and lightweight, plus analog keys.
@@fakenameforgoogle9168 what's the delineator for optomechanical switches working in a certain keyboard? Chris B the only hotswap boards I can think of with optomechanical is flaretech ones, GK61 optical and wooting one afaik Any board that doesn’t come with optomechanical can’t use optomechanical. Hotswap or not.
@@fakenameforgoogle9168 Yes you said that they can't use optomechanical--I'm asking WHY they can't use optomechanical? Why can't I just buy flaretech switches and throw them on the GMMK or the Tecware one?

Personally I own the jok3r Anne pro 2 and ducky, and my favorite out of the three is the Anne pro, it feels sturdy, really simple software, great rgb, and just Overall feels the most solid feels like it will take me a lot farther than the other two, but don’t get me wrong, all three keyboards are amazing and you won’t be disappointed with any of them
Yeah, however for just under max price too pay, you can get it prebuilt however they come with standard double shot black keycaps and Gateron Brown switches. I just picked up my board with Khail Pro Purple switches and Aura keycaps and if you are a fan of RGB then you need to get the aura keycaps, customizing it comes at the same price as buying it prebuilt so its worth it too pick your switches and keycaps. You get spare switches aswell and honestly setting it up is a walk in the park.
Why are there no holes for PCB mount switches? It's not any more complicated for the manufacturing and electronics, but it increases compatibility a lot.
@@Faigh_as you're probably trying to make some sort of joke here but the british wya of pronouncing solder is literally solder and the american way is sodder

U complained that there weren’t enough diff switches with the ducky by said “only 6 opinions” then got a keyboard with brown switches witch is the best switch for the ducky
Good thing you got a new keyboard one of my friends has the cynosa and it feels disgusting and anytime you push down a key it squeaks a little bit and it’s so annoying.
all i'll say is you're still better off with the Ducky. Glorious has THE worst software out of all custom mech board manufacturers I've seen. It's borderline unusable
PC Gaming ducky 60%s are perfects tbh, i have a blue switched one mini which i barely use for gaming and it’s extremely comfortable. If you want to buy a gaming keyboard you should buy an asus claymore or steelseries apex with black/red switches
I have the ducky and it's good, if someone was to care about the switch then yeah they can go with this but generally someone buys the keyboard in the switch they want in the first place so I wouldn't say this is a ducky killer if that is the main reason why....
@@michaellapot9988It's all up to preference, All I was saying is if there is a specific switch type you want it doesn't matter what keyboard you get as long as you like it and it has the switch you want.
Uh im not a 100% sure but im pretty sure the tweezer is meant for testing the pcb also its alittle confusing as you got browns which are mosy of the time a option thats there in keyboards
Too bad most hot swappable pcb’s completely lose their feel and rigidity after 4-5 swaps. Also the glorious has options but they’re cherry clones and not even the more desirable ones. None of the best box switches. I guess it’s a cheap option for people who aren’t experienced and don’t know about less common switches but its far from a long term or high quality option.
Too bad everything you said is the opposite of true. Kailh sockets are rated for 100 swaps and don’t affect switch or keyboard feel in any of that time. Gaterons are better than Cherry in almost every way, except for lubed linears which comes down to personal preference.
Oh nice dude I’m glad you can read. Too bad you’re the one who’s actually completely wrong. I had the Massdrop Ctrl and the glorious gmmk. Returned the gmmk. These are the most “popular” hot swaps on the market and I already noticed my gmmk |and ctrl switch swaps started to feel loose. “rated for 100 swaps” yeah before it fucking breaks and doesn’t work at all. And fuck are you talking about gatereon is better. Just because the producers of keyboards try to tell you gatereon clones are better than cherry because they’re “smoother” when they’re not. But I’ve felt gat blues, Browns and reds and they all felt cheaper than cherry barely smoother. So keep trying to tell me about how this keyboard that I’ve owned and these shit clone switches I’ve tried that you’ve never owned. Wanna know about some nice switches the kale box jades on my tofu 60% or the the vintage blacks I payed 5 a switch for on my 65%.
@@fheedpexx9267 yeah topre is nice but in my opinion not 200+ nice.
I love the GMMK pc master race keyboard but I have a Ducky One 2 TKL and it's soo nice

Always pull regular sized (1.0u) keycaps HORIZONTALLY.
is there a specific reason? i always just do what’s most convenient
Is nobody gonna mention the $50 techware phantom that is literally the same thing except cheaper?
Nobody mentions it because it has thinner holes for the pins, which means that its only compatible with Outemu switches.
@@ImRoninMan ah, that is true. But outemu has pretty nice switches
@@ImRoninMan Outemu is really good as a frankenswitch part
My only gripe about the aura keycaps is that they don't show you the ALT functions of some of the keys that you will need to know how to use on a 60% keyboard (the F keys and the nav cluster)
I agree. I see myself missing those keys. Maybe in the future when a hotswap bluetooth with arrow keys exist. I'll cop that.
You can even try rarer switches like the stuff from novelkeys
Yeah I too wanna build with the box navys or box jades
@@hypnoticlizard9693 i have tried box navies and they hurt my wrist to much from the spring weight and in jades the springs are too light for the thick click bar. Box pinks are imo the best.

@@beanpork508 Did you get halo's from drop? I think drop got the patent for halo's. Also if you have halos you should really think about combining them with yok trash pandas to get Holy pandas
Chris B Flaretech switches are optical so they won’t work in this.
@@fakenameforgoogle9168 what's the delineator for optomechanical switches working in a certain keyboard? Almost every keyboard with hotswappable switches I've seen has optomechanicals to start, so I'm kinda surprised that they won't work in this, and I'd like to know what exactly is the limiting factor, if possible.
Chris B the only hotswap boards I can think of with optomechanical is flaretech ones, GK61 optical and wooting one afaik
Any board that doesn’t come with optomechanical can’t use optomechanical. Hotswap or not.
@@fakenameforgoogle9168 Yes you said that they can't use optomechanical--I'm asking WHY they can't use optomechanical?
Why can't I just buy flaretech switches and throw them on the GMMK or the Tecware one?
Chris B that would be because optomechanical use only 1 pin vs the 2 of standard mechanical, so the PCBs aren’t interchangeable
What about the Anne pro 2 though?
Lol good bu5 compared to ducky it's low-key garbage
im using it .. i think it perfect 0 mistake and there is many futures like Bluetooth and firmware update , color customize so many things and its looks so cool i recommend it
@@jennysung6139 wdym its garbage compared to ducky?
Personally I own the jok3r Anne pro 2 and ducky, and my favorite out of the three is the Anne pro, it feels sturdy, really simple software, great rgb, and just Overall feels the most solid feels like it will take me a lot farther than the other two, but don’t get me wrong, all three keyboards are amazing and you won’t be disappointed with any of them
Scott Russ I use the Anne pro 2
mic audio for the win...i think i might pick one of these up...

If i pick none for the keyboard caps and switches will i have to buy my own keycaps and switches
Im gonna get the geek gk61
The finalmouse didn't need to be killed lol there's literally no reason for anyone to buy it
Why are there no holes for PCB mount switches? It's not any more complicated for the manufacturing and electronics, but it increases compatibility a lot.
true, gk61 has it but have trash stabs, its not that bad, a review on it will happen in March.

the ducky only has 6 options from switches, but it has cherry mx switches, which are more quality than the gateron etc. i dont know how i feel about the keyboard, i mean, if you buy it with switches and keycaps it cost a little less than the ducky does, and there is no way that ME myself, will get bored of a mechanical keyboard sound, i dont really know about the others, its just my opinion.
There’s so many 60% boards that can hotswap lol
There are very few, there is just this one and mass drop.
U complained that there weren’t enough diff switches with the ducky by said “only 6 opinions” then got a keyboard with brown switches witch is the best switch for the ducky

Try using holy panda switches
They are a fuckin pain to get a hold of tho
damnit ofc youtube recommends me this AFTER i get the ducky
trust me its not better than a ducky. only thing that is better is its customizability
The build is above average, I recommend new versions of ducky or the metal version than the first generations.
Imo Ducky is still top notch!
all i'll say is you're still better off with the Ducky. Glorious has THE worst software out of all custom mech board manufacturers I've seen. It's borderline unusable
Ducky one too many because everyone bandwagons to buy them.
PC Gaming ducky 60%s are perfects tbh, i have a blue switched one mini which i barely use for gaming and it’s extremely comfortable. If you want to buy a gaming keyboard you should buy an asus claymore or steelseries apex with black/red switches

"Ducky one 2 mini killer" from a dude who had just his first mechanical keyboard.
I have the ducky and it's good, if someone was to care about the switch then yeah they can go with this but generally someone buys the keyboard in the switch they want in the first place so I wouldn't say this is a ducky killer if that is the main reason why....
doesn't ducky only use cherry mx ... which are scratchy compared to other high tier switches out there.
@@michaellapot9988It's all up to preference, All I was saying is if there is a specific switch type you want it doesn't matter what keyboard you get as long as you like it and it has the switch you want.
i use a meme brain keyboard
It’s clear one of us actually tries out multiple keyboards and the other one just watches RUclips reviews and regurgitates the bullshit keyboard sellers try to feed you.
