    My one issue is the fact that it doesn't have PCB mounting slots, meaning a lot of high end switches that use 5 pins aren't compatible. Also I can very strongly recommend upgrading to halo clears, for 35$ they are a huge upgrade from any browns in terms of tactility, sound and overall feel.

    • @san..
      @san..  5 лет назад

      Iv'e heard clears, whites are really great switches. Do you recommend any other switches, or just those from massdrop? I keep hearing halos and clears a lot lately. Do you recommend a specific brand?

      @@san.. i would not waste my money for halo switches unless you making holy pandas out of them(very tactile switch with halo stem and panda housing) I mean they are slightly better then generic common switches but not that great. If you really start getting into this stuff try zealios, they are great. Also stabilizers swap is MUST on this keyboard, the stock ones are really bad, get some cherry or gmk stabs and google how to clip and lube them, it makes day and night difference.

    • @san..
      @san..  5 лет назад

    • @not_your_business666
      @not_your_business666 5 лет назад

      @@san.. As far as I know there only 3 good ones genuine cherry and gmk which are pretty much the same thing and should not feel any different, and EPBT ones which I did not try yet but people say they are good. You can find them at kbdfans.cn or novelkeys.xyz there are two kinds of them plate mounted and pcb mounted, make sure you get the plate mounted otherwise they will not fit into GMMK. Also kbdfans has very cool entry level custom keyboard kits like kbd67 and tofu. If you really want to jump into the rabbit hole check out top clack discord channel and geekhack forum there are so many extremely knowledgeable people people who helped me out a lot. This is very exciting hobby with very good positive community, once you build your first custom from the scratch there is no way back.

      @@Whyliam He's probably right-BUT! At the time of their comment Glorious was out of stock of GMMK compacts. So you had to back order one and wait a very long time for them to restock, which at time the alternative was to order the ducky one 2 mini and get it shipped out if you didn't want to wait. But between these two keyboards, there isn't much difference other than GMMK'S hot swappable switches and it's heft, which feels and delivers a quality built keyboard. Oh and the RGB on the one 2 mini is better if your into that. Ngl I did want the one 2 mini since I didn't want to wait for glorious to restock on their compacts- but I'm finally getting mine next week! Pick what suits you better, these keyboards are both fantastic in my honest opinion.

    • @rckd
      @rckd 4 года назад +3

      Nothing wrong with browns, it’s just funny because the one 2 mini already has them. It’s really mostly personal preference. I have a Mecha Mini with MX blues, which are the super clicky ones. I like how they sound and feel, but I know other people who hate them. The MX reds are smooth linear with no click or bump, which I don’t like, but some people love that. The MX browns are the best middle ground switch which appeal to most people. Quieter than blues, but still have a bump. This is just the cherry Mx switches, but your keyboard may have more options, I’d recommend searching up RandomFrankP’s switch guide video where he tests and explains a bunch of different switches. Sorry for the text wall, hope this helped lol

    The selling point of the GMMK is the hotswappability. That's what it has over Ducky. Ducky has better quality. Outside of mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, hotswappability is not what most people really care about. The GMMK is good for people who want to test out new switches in an actual keyboard, usually people well vested into the mechanical keyboard community, or people new to the mechanical keyboard community. The Ducky is good everyone else who doesn't care about the hotswappability.

    • @fheedpexx9267

      I also think the GMMK looks way better. But that's subjective. The new all white Ducky One 2 Mini looks all right though.
      But yeah, I'm getting the GMMK just to be able to try out different switches for a while before I invest in a more permanent, high end board. And that sure wouldn't be a Ducky either. For quality, you want like Varmilo, Filco or Leopold - or like HHKB/Realforce...
