Nice work as usual Gary! I was lucky to have a journeyman joiner very much like you teach me it's a shame a lot of the skills and knowledge are being lost!! Keep up the good work Gary always enjoy your videos!
Great Video as usual Gray... Love my old carpentry & Joinery books to. Would love a set of those you have, who is the author?? One of my favourites is "Modern Practical Joinery" by George Ellis first published in 1902 and reprinted and expanded in 1908. Despite its age still an excellent reference book.. Keep up the great work Gary.
THOSE OLD BOOKS HAVE THINGS IN THEM NOBODY NOW DAYS HAS A CLUE ON HOW TO DO! WHAT DO YOU USE TO JIONT YOUR LUMBER? I SEE NO JOINER IN YOUR SHOP! GOOD VIDEO!!!!
Geometry isnt taught in schools anymore, nowadays they call it shape and space! Although nowhere near to the degree in your book. If you dont still get that in joinery apprenticeships, you still do in fabrication/sheet metal work. (Until the CNC/robots take over anyway!)
As always fantastic video and information love your videos thanks 🍺🍺👍👍👍👍👍👍

Could you get 8x4 sheets in 1924?
Kris Ruchomski possibly but not in mass production and maybe not 8x4, that’s the modern ceiling height which back then were built higher.
That is a pure and undefiled bookcase Gary. 260 mm deep?
Zackary McDowell yes it’s about that, the shelf itself will be around 265mm so that the carcase can be around 280mm plus front columns 👍
