I always enjoy your videos, thank you very much, but I think you should tell the first guy to move his couch!!! LOL
Haha, well, both systems belong to the same guy. The first system in his living room is "merely" his secondary system. The second system is in his dedicated listening area.
Could you all review the Best Kept Secret on the Planet.. Grandinote MACH 18 Floorstanding speakers matched with the Western Electric 91E 300B Integrated amp please ? Contact Fred Crane at Prana Distribution for Grandinote MACH speakers. Thanks !
I cant find you on audea. can you post audio versions of your videos there? Would love to listen to them! thanks again for the great content.
Glad to hear you like the content! Alas, I can't find the time for any extra activities.
Great system but isn't the bass boosted and soundstage limited due the extremly close distance to the side walls? I know from my experience that keeping a room around the speakers makes a huge diffrence. You experienced this also as i know how you were positioning your own speakers in your room 🙂
That's the interesting thing about this room and system. Clearly, this room is a little too narrow, but there is absolutely no bass boost nor any other thickening or coloration effects in the bass, outside of the mentioned leanness in the upper bass and lower midrange. This is due to nulling as a result of room modes but I definitely prefer that over the peaks that I had to deal with in my own room. I suspect that it is a huge benefit that the Rockports have the bass drivers on the insides, but also, the owner has had great help in meticulously setting up the system in the room. That said, while the soundstage was projected freely from the speakers, I'm quite confident that it could probably have been wider if the speakers had more room to breathe on the sides. But given the constraints of this room, choices had to be made. Ultimately, most rooms have one or more remaining issues, ironically even those where cost is of little objective. What this owner has achieved in the relatively narrow room is nonetheless impressive.
