If your gonna put steel plates all over your car it adds a lot of weight your wheels break off when you don't strengthen the suspension some of those cars need truck suspension
These are literally bricks with 350s and 4 wheels and just a body they found and cut it to make it fit on the frame the frames on some are not even close to the correct frame for the body lol. Outlaw derby cars if it is a real outlaw class they strip down to bare frame abd build up they bolt their springs in make cradles for the engine slip shafts for drive shaft and use the heaviest rear-end they can find. They cut rats and weld the frames to make the car take less impact when hit up front cages around trans cooler abd huge triple by pass radiators in steal cages. They modify stock bumpers or build their own heavy bumpers weld body to frame and weld every gap between panels using 10 gauge sheet metal and also you can narrow the trunk so it's more of a point abd not a wide flat rear abd put creases in body panels to stiffon the body I beams accross dash and doors. They hand make tires by layering and gluing and bolting layers of tires on top of each other to make a solid rubber no air needed tire. And they do alot more just to much to list for outlaw class basically turn trunk into a ramp to flip cars
