Returning to one of my favorite games Dead Cells now with more DLC
In this adventure we get an unusual weapon in the form of the giant pair of scissors from the barber. I definitely gives of Clock Tower vibes, but who am I to argue with another weapon that I will probably use wrong.
Dead Cells is a roguelite, metroidvania inspired, action-platformer. You'll explore a sprawling, ever-changing castle... assuming you’re able to fight your way past its keepers in 2D souls-lite combat. No checkpoints.

I know it’s a favorite for new players, it was mine as well when I got my first win, but you gotta retire that frost blast. It quickly becomes one of the worst weapons in the game as you climb boss cells. Shields become almost required as they make some of the hardest hitting enemies (and bosses) completely useless. The giant enemies with the swords, for example, are some of the most predictable and easy enemies to completely negate with a single parry. Think about shields like this, if you can dodge roll an attack, you could have just parried instead.
My advice is to run survival and take the mutation that heals when you parry melee attacks and just take it slow and learn every enemy’s parry window. Coming around to shields was the single biggest game changer that got me out of 2 BC. Keep at it, enjoying watching your journey!
