    Now I am really impressed, and I am inspired to go back and practice my Karate AGAIN, both Shotokan and Kyukoshin. This sensei or sempai Levefre is amazing and INSPIRING. And he is an intelligent human being even. Tri or multi lingual? He speaks French, English and now.. Spanish? not to mention Belgian. Now I know when someone said that Karate was not really for the peasants but for the noble educated class. This guy is a model for the adage Karate is for the perfection of character

      Dear Norman, Karate aims to develop both your mind and your body, but above all your good character. No surprise that great sports Karate Champions such as Junior Lefevre are not only excellent practitioners and teachers, but also so open minded and well educated people!

    Is that the Karate Nerd at 6:13???

  • @themaverickblackbelt8054
    @themaverickblackbelt8054 3 года назад

    I don't understand. He spends 10 minutes explaining how to turn your hips, bend your front knee, and cut your lead hip to allow a twisting motion and keep from over-extending your head and upper torso beyond your hips/center of gravity. Then at 10:24 he does exactly this "mistake" by leaning his upper body beyond his center of gravity, doesn't bend his leg more than it was during his bounce. So he keeps his center of gravity behind his front foot and leans over to punch. Is he showing what NOT to do @10:23 through 10:24 ?

    What he is doing at about 19.10-13 is actually the proper way to perform oi tsuki, a much misunderstood movement. In oi tsuki we have always been told that the fist has to make contact when the passing foot hits the floor, but this wrong. The fist hits before the step is completed. Otherwise it is too slow and easily countered.

    utiliza mal el gyaku zuki tiene el gran error de no estirar la pierna atrasada a la hora del contacto! lo que esta enseñando es box? sus ejecuciones son defectuosas, increible!

    • @rodctenis
      @rodctenis 9 лет назад

      +MrVikot Parece que viste exactamente el video al revés o no entendiste nada

    • @victorlopez9595
      @victorlopez9595 9 лет назад +1

      +rodctenis entendí tan perfectamente que este es un instructor mediocre que cree ser tan bueno que puede enseñar lo que el pretende que es el karate. para empezar un principio fundamental en el gyaku zuki es que la pierna atrazada debe estar perfectamente rectar y en contacto con el suelo al contacto del puño con el tori, y por otro lado los golpes no se lanzan como en el box, en karate un golpe o zuki siempre debe llevar la mano contraria en retroceso subito y a maxima velocidad por principo de accion y reaccion, si tu no captas esto, entonces tu eres el que no entiendes nada, saludos!

    • @rodctenis
      @rodctenis 9 лет назад

      No sé cual es tu problema personal con Lefevre, pero en el video claramente se muestra que el golpe tipo box, no es lo correcto. Segundo, no es un video de la técnica del gyaku tsuki, se trata de su uso táctico en karate de puntuación.

    • @victorlopez9595
      @victorlopez9595 9 лет назад

      +rodctenis no tengo problemas en absoluto con lefevre sólo índico que le pondría cero puntos o ipon en todas sus ejecuciones, porque estan al ejecutadas! saludos!

    ... oh no offense to the peasants or to demean them in anyway. They are a vital part to the agricultural revolution that gave way to industrial revolution which led to present day modern progress. What I just meant to say was that Karate was originally designed to be practiced by those who can afford to practice them by finances and time availability, and have a high inclination and education for finer and technical form of combat.

      carlos garcia we should move on from this dualism "traditional vs sports karate IMHO. They are two different things, each one with pros and cons, but it doesn't mean that a karateka can't practice both.
