Hi Morten. I didn't realise you were in Norway...I had a flying visit there a few years ago - well a sailing visit. We caught a boat from the east coast of England and sailed to Norway, staying for one night only, in the depths of winter so we literally didn't see any daylight at all. My favourite classical composer is Edvard Grieg. Woody Allen - one of my favourite films ever is 'Sleeper', but I also love 'Manhatten Murder Mystery'. My Dad also liked The Beatles (he introduced me to 'Revolver' when I was six) but couldn't stand the Stones - he referred to their songs as 'music for morons'. He really couldn't see anything in them at all and it was years before I listened to them. Brian at Embryonic Robot and myself share a love for World Machine and now here you are also - we should do a collab video on it next year!

@@jamesgriffithsmusic Was it the Newcastle to Kristiansand ferry? Can't believe it is no longer possible to tale a ferry to the UK across the north sea. Think even Denmark is unreachable from the UK (used to be both Hirtshals and Hjørring to Harwich and Newcastle.
My favorite Woody Allen movies are Manhattan, Stardust Memories and Broadway Danny Rose. Of course, love Sleeper, Annie Hall, Hanna and Her Sisters and so on too. Play it Again Sam has the funniest scene involving a vinyl record on the planet 😂
When my dad head the hoo hoo part of Sympati For The Devil he would almost lose ot. But then again, he would laugh until he teared up for Woody Allen and Jack Lemmon so it was fine 😄
I think it was David Atkinson I talked to about Jan Garbarek who he knew well. And got him to check out his daughter Anja Garbarek? If you are curios about Norwegian music beyond Grieg, A-Ha and Röyksopp 😄

@@MortenAastad Yes, I like Röyksopp. Don't know much A-Ha, but I did once see a couple of the guys from the band drinking in a cafe in Paris! Yes, it was the Newcastle ferry we caught. My partner had a friend (he's probably still there) living in Norway at the time so we stayed the night and caught the ferry back in the morning. My main memory of the trip back is ordering glasses of tonic water in the bar and sneakily pouring in our own gin from a bottle hidden inside my coat. We didn't smoke any grass though, well not much anyway.🤣

    Hey Morten
I haven't heard Travis for years..I bought their first 2 records on CD and they definitely have their highlights...my favourite song was
' Coming Around' which I think was a songle but not released on any album??..( correct me if I'm wrong).
Sheet Music is in my top 10 all time records..that record is finally being lauded as a classic..brilliantly conceived original pop record, and is their best album.
I really need to do a video about that album sometime. 🤔
A-Ha weren't exactly my cup of tea, but Take On Me was a terrific pop song of it's day and the animated video that accompanied it was highly original.
    " Bratmobile"..lol!!😅
I still love ' Black Hole Sun'..I think Soundgarden had some interesting songs.
That story of your broken relationship sounded desperately cruel and unfair, with you having to fly to Australia only to be dumped...sounds to me that was her agenda all along.. sometimes i'm very glad that i'm no longer in a relationship.
Oh yes, Crowded House, but sorry, Beatles for me!.
Macca has done some great records but, for me The Beatles eclipse his solo stuff every time.
The Stones have recorded some great material, particularly Aftermath, Sticky Fingers and Goat's Head Soup.
Regarding controversial artists..I believe you have to try and ' separate the man from the artistry.'.if you veto all artists that have been "politically incorrect" you just end up shooting yourself in the foot and potentially miss out on some great art.
    Some really interesting answers..
    Great tag response 👍.

@@robison5396 Thank you Rob. Agree with most of that.
Can't believe its 45 years since I as a kid got my first 10cc record. Loved them ever since.
Correct, Coming Around is a gorgeous non single song. It did appear on an expanded tour edition of the Man Who and helps lift their 2004 Singles comp and DVD to even higher levels.
Soundgarden were exceptionel, just... I can't praise them enough.
Yes, been living with that experience and the shame and not being able to find someone for me ever since.
      Australia was nice though
Yes, do a Sheet Music video 😊
      Thanks again Rob
