"With all the money I did not have, with all the debt I had over the years, with all of that I had 2007, 2008, millions and millions of dollars and we are going to get to that point in life, I WAS ALWAYS A RICH MAN." I love that quote, truly inspirational, thanks for sharing.
I’m a new listener to the podcast. I want to thank you Eli for giving me an opportunity to get introduced to the Jewish community and way of life. Being from NY I have always seen and been around Jewish people but never engaged in conversation with them due to my fear of unintentionally offending someone. My school principal and former manager were Jewish. Those guys were awesome and BOTH gave me encouragement and opportunity. I hope to have many more interactions with the Jewish community and hopefully make friends!
Gret podcast! My husband is an ADHD specialist for College students and young professionals, and he always says if people with ADHD could understand their power, they would be successful.
One of the important thing that has made this man successful is strong family ties so he felt protected and secured even in hard times. His upbringing, his parents who bestowed on him love and confidence as a boy.
Abe has the qualities I see over and over again in successful entrepreneurs: - always upbeat attitude; - never give up; - bounces back from failure, doesn’t dwell on it but learns from it; - no fear of debt; He also is obviously a very bright guy.
it doesn't sound like he ever made 45 million in the early 2000's, sound like he just got into 45 million in debt. Very different things ! Glad to hear he is doing better now!
Lessons I learned from this podcast: 1) do not get married early and have kids. 2) do not buy luxuries items early in carrier. Instead Invest in dividend stocks and other passive cash flow and have savings. 3) be ready for economic crushes. Thank you for this podcast
I am friends and work with many Jews, and I am big fan of Jewish culture and heritage, so I would like to ask you for a favor if you can explain certain words and phrases so we can better follow along and learn more about your culture. Great work otherwise. Greetings from Serbian-American.
Same, I’m African American and find so much value in this culture. The unity that Jews propose is what I feel we lack as traditional Americans. I feel like learning words and phrases brings me even closer
His wife doesn't go on the helicopter with him because of it goes down they would both die. She's smart for sake of kids not the money. At least they would have one parent remaining. Absolutely spot on in conclusion, recognize WHO YOU ARE, WHATS RIGHT FOR YOU, WHAT YOU ARE HERE FOR. And you will feel it at everything you try. Don't ignore that feeling. It's there for a reason.
Abe Breuer is an inspiration, as a fellow ADHD suffer from schools that didn't recognise Dyslexia and ADHD, because we were classed as "Problem Children". So to hear how well he did, even having ADHD. I don't have the confidence as Abe to start any business but thank you for sharing.
I particularly loved the portion where he explained that real estate should be thought of not so much as a business as much as an investment, great message that underlines the need for supplementary income from another source to fuel real estate acquisitions
Relating from a personal place this was painful to watch and moved me to tears. It’s fortunate that Abe’s story has a happy outcome. But how many don’t? We need to educate our youth to not use the world as their casino.
I am so glad I found this channel. This is the best interview I have heard this year. You’re a great interviewer as well. You let your guest speak and you ask the right questions.
Fantastic interview! I’d love to see another interview with Abe where he goes deep on how he began his business with John to go and the struggles he went through! Was great to listen to!
I’m hoping you have him back soon given our current economic climate I feel that Abe would have great advice and would help many dodge future economic struggles.
Incredibly well done, both host and guest were a perfect match with their personalities and energy. My very first time on the channel and will subscribe and put the vibes out to have Abe back on soon as a guest. I'd love to hear more gritty details about SBA loan process and pitfalls. Thank you both for your time making that interview happen.
This man is truly an inspiration. And thank you to both of you and the production team for a truly motivating and informative set of insights - while entertaining us all along the way
I have watched some of your videos, and this guy is FAR and above the best interview. There isn't some grand statement its just real, and that is really the best thing you can put out.
What's happening with Abe is that he thinks a lot faster than most ppl, he can see multiple solutions at once. And life is all about solutions and ideas, ones who can think up the best solutions most quickly will prosper the most. His mind is probably a whirlwind of ideas and solutions all the time. The reason why he didn't get depressed as much during his indebtedness is because he was actually doing something to solve the problem. Ppl active in solving problems are less prone to be brought down and under. Inactivity in resolving a problem is what creates fear paralysis.
50:30 Mr. Breuer's view of the act of attending college placing your entrepreneurial spirit at risk is refreshing. I consider myself a fan of colleges, my work puts me in contact with grad and doctoral students. At that level these folks most often are helpless in many aspects of day to day life. It would be interesting to thumb through the statistics of business school graduates and see whether they too are effected.
I disagree when people say college does nothing. We can learn from all walks of life. In many cases students lack the guidance to get the most out of their education, once they leave school.
just.... wow... this is just incredible, the energy, the intelect, the life, the trust, the positivity out of this man can just be brought by a trust in god ... its amazing to see, thank you so much for this, i hope you can make kosher money keep coming! i am learning so much!
I like the way this dude thinks. I’m very similar in a lot of ways in my craziness and delusionality. This is the type of information I need, I’m drawing out a lot of value out of this interview. Thanks.
His story is very similar to mine. When the crash happened I lost it all. The only difference between his story and mine, is that my wife left me when it happened, his stayed. This made an already unbearable situation even worse. He's got a good wife, and I really like this man attitude. My family looks down on the trades, I never understood that.
A friend sent me the link to this show. Interesting. He experienced a lot of miracles - we all do - daily - as a frum businessman, we all realize that it's all a gift from The Creator - I have a chavrusa who is also a businessman - we begin each night with the same question - what nissim - miracles did you experience TODAY - and we each have a small story to share - and then we begin our learning. We all have to constantly be cognizant that the money is a gift and we have to use it correctly. Bracha V'Hatzlacha!
As I watch the canadian market grow to the biggest bubble and as a mortgage agent I relate with this I'm not Jewish so a few words I had to look up but what a fantastic show you two put out ,thank you
Thank you so much for your presentations and your guests. I gives me a deeper understanding of Jewish Culture, business practices and ethics. When I lived in NYC, they appeared kind of mysterious to me, but it was due to my ignorance. Thank you for opening my eyes. Too bad I was not courageous enough back then to engage them and enjoy their presence. I could've learned a bunch and I certainly needed it. But it is never too late.
I think there’s a certain value you extract from facing those situations where everything is falling apart around you are having to go all out against the pressure and face impossible odds and lose. Then shake that off and continue on like essentially nothing ever happened but having racked up the experience under your belt. That’s the only way you can know just what you’re made of and what you got in you. You learn things about yourself. And it’s amazing just how long you can keep it going sometimes even if in the end you can’t make it work out. Life is all about just hanging on by a thread to try again later once you regroup. As long as you can stay alive there’s always a chance. And there’s always another opportunity, even tho in the moment you want to just focus on the one at hand.
This show is awesome and very informative im not jewish but I appreciate this content and this guest was great and I learned a lot thank you for sharing stay blessed
I realized that the secret to making a million is making better investment. I always tell myself you don't need that new car or that vacation just yet and that mindset helps me make more money investing.
I see this guy is highly distractible, but I can't help but admire how in his head, he's keeping it all together. This guy might be labeled ADHD, but I think he's just brilliant. Not perfect, but brilliant doesn't mean perfect....just my tow cents...
I noticed he didn't mentioned something which is valuable to in the Jewish world, which is charitable giving. Maybe that's why he was having so much destruction results in his businesses.
"Real estate is not a business, it's an investment." He's saying you can't expect to make money from real estate on a timetable. When the investment ripens, it ripens. There is no real steady timely income from real estate. There's no frequent cash flow. That's what he's saying. This is the same guy that didn't bother renting properties because he could buy at 100k and sell at 160k. Great podcast.
Wow is right....Love Abe and his honesty and dismissiveness i would think thats rare for Orthodox. Thanks Eli. This is a great example of your penetration through RUclips.Purely based on your contents quality
The $40+M from the bank was non recourse. Meaning, if you default on the loan, the bank takes the property and you walk away. No personal guarantee. He was only liable to pay back the money owed to his investors. Regardless, this man has nerves of steel. Great story!
People leave college and don’t wanna take any risk bc they are in debt and they do scare u into thinking u should just clock in and clock out till ur debt is paid off! Typically people don’t want to risk their finances if they were taught to be an in debt worker
"With all the money I did not have, with all the debt I had over the years, with all of that I had 2007, 2008, millions and millions of dollars and we are going to get to that point in life, I WAS ALWAYS A RICH MAN." I love that quote, truly inspirational, thanks for sharing.

well said and I agree !!.
A good family or friends that are like family is so important. If you have that even the worst failure is not so bad.
Wise words
Beautiful
Good point..
This episode is worth to be studied..
Abe has the qualities I see over and over again in successful entrepreneurs:
- always upbeat attitude;
- never give up;
- bounces back from failure, doesn’t dwell on it but learns from it;
- no fear of debt;
He also is obviously a very bright guy.
Mr Abe Breuer , I love this guy - now I want to start my own business . 🥇🏆
He was asked When you were in $45M in debt, were you depressed” answer: “ppsssfff, No” ❤ love that
I love this dude, he makes total sense and has a clean no-BS style of conversation. Cheers.
😎😎
"Negotiate the terms, not the price" - great advice (and reference to the book). Along with inspiring story.
Thank you
Any chance you can share the name of the book. Trying to find it but haven't yet. Thank you.
That's huge, at what time in the video did he say that?
What’s name of the book?
I don't think he says a name. But he said the name of the man that wrote the book. It's Reicman, I think there is 2 books from him not sure which one.
Searched around for about 20 minutes, but possibly "The Reichmanns: Family, Faith, Fortune, and the Empire of Olympia & York" ? not sure though
it doesn't sound like he ever made 45 million in the early 2000's, sound like he just got into 45 million in debt. Very different things ! Glad to hear he is doing better now!
It doesn't sound like you listened to the podcast before commenting.😏
Very young he knew who he was,what he was,his strengths,his weaknesses and he wasn't afraid or had fear of jumping.
Lessons I learned from this podcast: 1) do not get married early and have kids. 2) do not buy luxuries items early in carrier. Instead Invest in dividend stocks and other passive cash flow and have savings. 3) be ready for economic crushes.

Money more important than family?
Not cool
@MJ Newsflash: unless you're really wealthy, you can never afford a family. So do you suggest only the rich have families?
@MJ it’s such a common sense but many ignorant kids ignore it and make other kids.
I am friends and work with many Jews, and I am big fan of Jewish culture and heritage, so I would like to ask you for a favor if you can explain certain words and phrases so we can better follow along and learn more about your culture. Great work otherwise. Greetings from Serbian-American.

I love this guy’s energy, I’m a optimistic entrepreneur and guys like this give me hope.
This was amazing. My #1 takeaway is that “there’s a lot of money out there. Don’t think small”
His wife doesn't go on the helicopter with him because of it goes down they would both die. She's smart for sake of kids not the money. At least they would have one parent remaining. My cousin who is married don't fly together for this very reason

If it is int the plane its going to be something else. Sounds pretty selfish to me.
wow 9:00 his mum's answer about the garden is truly genius.
This is about to be one my favorite channels … I’ve watched 3 episodes in the past day..I love it..
What a fascinating guest. Thanks to both of you for taking the time to perform this interview.
