Completing a Brutal mission with Dehaka only. Turns out that really Dehaka is more or less a glorified miner. In this week's Mutation Mission in StarCraft 2 I decide to focus on Dehaka and his cooldowns, and make not units whatsoever. The mission called "White Out".
Few things are as harsh as a Kaldir blizzard. Resources are hard to come by, and the winds freeze everything they touch. Destroy Amon's shuttles, and try to keep warm.
Blizzard: Storm clouds move across the map, damaging and freezing player units in their reach.
Slim Pickings: Player worker units gather resources at a reduced rate, but resource pickups spawn throughout the map.

Dehaka is the hungriest unit ever. In one game eats like 10 hybrids, 1 leviathan (like twice his size) and a bunch of other smaller units.
Ghorn Is bae in fact a leviathan is bigger than the P mothership and he ate it in one sitting LOL
yeah the leviathan consume was such a revelation moment to see lol
Leviathan is like a small moon with proper scale
Yeah I routinely eat battlecruisers and hybrids with him, it’s so comical
I literally laughed out loud when he said Dehaka is the most powerful Pokemon in the game.

Hero only? Where have I seen this before? ;D I have a video that shows the true power of Dehaka hero only. Tips:
- Never use Dehaka to slap rocks. In the early game, run him to an enemy camp right away to kill enemies and gather essence. This is important for leveling right away.
- When you're surrounded by Zerglings and scorching breath is not available, you can spam out devour since the cooldown after killing small units is very short.
- Focus on devouring Vipers and Infestors first. They will not only take out annoying spells, but they will also provide you an AOE blast after devouring them.
In some maps killing a portion of the rocks is worth it (e.g., train), but maybe it is because I go swarmhosts.
I carried my weight? A tenth of the damage done to shuttles...sure lowko :P

also alot of his unit kills were from pushing bases and bonus that sushi didnt bother with in the spare time :D

How have I been watching Lowko for all these years and never have noticed those cheek bones, supermodels must be jealous.
nova and dehaka could probably pull this one off without troops, but they'd need static defenses. Lowko is kicking ass
Consuming Leviathans... Dehaka Op :O
Correction...Dehaka *can be* OP ... the ability to consume a leviathan is insignificant next to the power of the mind blast.
LOL really though, Lowko is not the guy to look to for a true measure of Dehaka's might. He's more of a multiplayer guy; his co-op control is much more limited, and I could point out dozens of places his hero control was way off. Knocking out one leviathan or hybrid in a split second, and then having consume out of commission for 120+ seconds, is not that tactically sound of a plan. It typically results in a dead Dehaka, and Lowko was lucky his ally was watching out for his cowardly hero. Of course, in many cases you're better off just letting Dehaka die, and sacrificing a few drones to get him back into the fray at full health...
I know, I know, but I just can't banish the Image of a several skyscraper high Godzilla-wannabe consuming something several miles/kilometers long that's floating somewhere in orbit. ;)
Poor Alarak. He had to stop 3/4 shuttle groups by himself in the last wave.

You can get creeperling AA upgrade so Murvar's creeper lings can attack air.
You should mass Dehaka's buildings as an army and try beating something that way.
@LowkoTV I like how you call Dehaka the best Pokemon in the game.
been wanting to do this for quite a little while... so... woke up this morning had breakfast and turned on the computer and decided you wanted to use only Dehaka.
Dehaka's devour ability cool down is based upon the remaining health of the unit devoured. Not the total health. For example, devouring an ultralisk with 10 hp will produce the same cool down as a zergling with 10 hp. It is very helpful to weaken a unit significantly before devouring.
This mission just proves to me that Blizzard needs to buff Hybrid/Ling/Bane.
Ryan Frantz blizzard just debuffed them for essentially the same reason (too powerful) weeks ago and I don’t think they will buff them again.

Then no. They do not need buff. Buff them will make every other commander rough to play while not affecting dehaka at all.
Please no. Ling/Baneling/Scourge/Viper is one of the hardest enemies for certain commanders. Especially on mutators like this where they straight up double the number of enemy spawns.
Dehaka says Watchful because in the mission where you protect Kerrigan's cocoon, he is watching from a ledge and you can't kill him lol

Dahaka sure has changes since his days chasing the prince around Persia...
Crazy suggestion, how about Kerrigan: Kerrigan and Lurkers only and Vorazun: Corsairs and top bar only?
Here's a possible challenge for the next mutation that a ladder player might like: Kerrigan, mass queen, with omega worms for mobility and no creep spread aside from the worms. Use the hero or not, your choice, but the only units you're allowed to build are queens and drones.
Dehaka's little icon kinda looks like Diablo to me...
It might be the little glowy spot on his head resembling the soulstone...

Rachenviel last time I check, only Raynor and Horner had the best terran air unit
If you consume low health units, you get very low cooldown on your consume. This can help you sustain in a long fight if you keep eating zerglings or marines.

I tend to only use dehaka when playing his commander, same with Kerrigan and alarak, or any hero character for that matter beside stockmen and the one robot dude. I find I find more fun with it and do less micro which is nice

Here is a tip from a noob player: If u kill neutral animals that are just chillin on the map u will also get Essence for leveling Dahaka... That also works for Abathur^^
With that mutation to all the scare.
i think another good strategy would be vorazun only Dark archons only for using mind control and fighting only with the enemy units

@LowkowTV You can kill those non-combat critters to get essence. Handy to help you level faster on maps that have a bunch of them. It's not much, but it may help.
I wish i had bought some commanders when they had that big sale. I just cant imagine paying $5 for them though. So I will wait for the next sale.
I have been having fun with commanders so far in the last 2 days that I started using them in co-op.
Please try and go mass primal wardens and primal hatcheries with karax as coop partner. Then chrono wave for the primal wardens to go super saiyan XD

Jeeze Lowko why didn't you just devour an air unit to get an air attack? You know you don't have to wait till level 10 right? :P
Did Karax/Dehaka for this brutation. It went pretty straightforward, I built turret farms and gathered minerals and Dehaka did Dehaka things. The only reason it was a challenge is that the AI was ling/baneling and the blizzards wiped out all of the shields on my turrets. Haven't tried any other commanders yet but anything air based like mass phoenix or mass corsair would work well here. The enemies aren't individually any tougher with this mutator.
Only Zealots and Phoenixes.

Try to play with Terran next time. Tell him to mass medivacs. Medivacs can heal ally units.

Why they didn't gave to Godzilla the splash damage to ground units?
Well he has 2 very powerful aoe abilites so autoattack splash damage would've been a little too much.
