Time to sound off on the LeBron 17. There's so much to talk about! The max cushion set up! The knitposite! The super extra crown ankle collar! Let us know your thoughts on them. And as always, thanks for watching!!!
try literally any basketball shoe? even lebron 16s.... btw everyone will know what youre doing if you specifically get shoes for that reason. The 17s don't give much height
The 16s were my 1st pair of lebrons, i had been wearing air maxs only for years, and i love them. Im digging the 17 future flights, but i cant decide between those and the new Jordans.
These are fresh looking. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned. Haven’t had a chance to play in them because of corona😭, looking forward to hooping in them one day. I’ve heard they are great performance. In my opinion, the best looking lebrons are: 9s 15s 10s 17s
@@cantspelltriumphwithouttru4277 He was asking about the look of the back of the shoe, I responded why it was made that way. I couldnt care less if he is or not (Bulls fan) but it still making money on it.
I was thinking of Knitposite in the wrong way at first too. Gotta break em down separate Foamposite is a sturdy form fitting upper comPOSITon made of a foam material Knitposite is a sturdy form fitting upper comPOSITion made of knitted materials Makes a little more sense that way. Nike just has us trained so when we here posite we automatically thing of foam
I believe they named it Knitposite because it’s a composite (combo of various elements) of Flyknit and Heat-molded yarn. Not necessarily as a nod to the foamposite.
I’m 6”2 280lbs. I buy Lebron shoes out of necessity. I usually wait till they’re at outlet due to the high cost. A well broken in shoe with this much air robs the wearer of propulsion I find (small price to pay for happy joints after a good run).
Can't wait for the performance review. I got my eye on the Lakers color way. PS. I thought the '-POSITE' thingy means being heat compressed/molded and in this case it's Knit, that's all.
Wouldn’t you also consider the Jordan 34 a max cushion setup? The Lebron is suppose to be the max cushion and max support option. After playing in the 34’s, having the support on the WhyNots and overall the Kobe FF, these look 🤷🏽♂️
34s offer court feels, maximum cushion and stability. But all of the AJ34 performance information can be found in the Air Jordan 34 Performance Review. This breakdown is about the LBJ17.
Levi got 🤚, 🤣. Sorry just had to chime in. But you both are correct. I think both are max cushion in their own ways. Personally i think I'd enjoy the 34 more just because zoom is better for my knees. The LBJ 17 seems kinda "uummm do i really wanna try that?" I feel like Nike Air is not great for impact protection, my knees wil agree and having just 2 separate zoom pods up front doesn't exact scream court feel. That said, i think the 17 is a step down or back from the 15s and 16s.
It’s interesting because according to Fastpass’ deconstructed measurements, the 16s’ forefoot stack height is .5 mm higher than the 17s and the 16s’ heel stack height is almost 2.5 mm higher but these look like you’d be higher off the ground.
But Chris.... you do know what the suffix “posite” means, right? I’m just saying that using it doesn’t mean that it was anything to do with FOAMposite. I honestly didn’t even think of the foamposites. Changing the FOAM prefix probably already means that it can be much different.
@steal threaded He knows what foamposites are. And u and literally everybody u kno were wrong. Sooooo... u might be full of it. When i heard "KNIT"posite I assumed it had nothing to do with foam and was something nike was introducing on the new Lebron.
I got the Witness 4 before I got the 17’s. I rolled my ankle twice in one game in the Witness 4’s. Later on, found the 17 for a low price. Relegated the Witness 4 as a casual shoe. The 17’s for playing.
interesting that when the air max 270s came out, it was marketed as a "casual only" air bag, yet a few years later the lebron 17 is essentially using that same bag in the heel, or a damn similar version of it.
There is less of a taper/slope to this air bag so it’s a bit more stable. Less of a drop from heel to toe. They also inflated the bag quite a bit which helps.
4:00 I don't think Knitposite is supposed to be the combining of Foamposite and BattleKnit/Flyknit , but more so the process it goes it goes through to become 1 piece of composite material(so the heating and cooling process).
The term Posite is a direct reference to Nike’s Foamposite technology. It’s a familiar term amongst sneaker consumers which is why they chose to use the term. Heated yarn is not new technology. It’s been used by brands, including Nike, for many years. If this knit’s new feature is heated yarn then it should’ve been marketed as Battleknit 3.0 vs Knitposite as Posite is synonymous with Foamposite. We don’t make excuses for large corporations. We just discuss their products.
@@WearTesters Agree but the term "Foamposite" is a direct reference to the term "Composite" which mean made up of different materials and elements. And you can also say it means that when you combine these materials it comes up with something with different characteristics. Won't deny that it's marketing and Nike as of late isn't always forthcoming. But in this case nothing they've released (Ad or press release) said it was Foamposite + Knit. I don't see it as making excuses for them, I see it as discussing what they released.
Where the 'posite' section of the name is derived from is irrelevant when it comes to marketing. Google the word posite and let us know what shows up. Spoiler alert -- it'll be any and everything Nike Foamposite. Even the kids Little Pro Posite shoe.
Great video as always! I actually dig this silhouette a lot, maybe because of how much I liked the designs of the LBJ VIIs and VIIIs. Wasn't digging this colorway much until this video, but now it might be on my radar. $200 isn't happening though; I see these getting discounted pretty quickly. Interesting that the 'Knitposite' business didn't end up being much. I figured it wouldn't have foam in it, but at least thought they were going to replicate the properties of it somehow.
Lmfao that ass rub got me sold on those jeans 😂 love the vid NW as always yet these lebrons are iffy for me cause I dont really like air max like that I'd prefer zoom
I experienced the tippy-ness of the Lebron 15 - having tiny outriggers would have been much appreciated. Still have the 15s, but picked up the KD12 for last year. Undecided as which will make rotation this season.
I have the ashes lebron 15 and this shoe looks like the direct follow up. I didn’t really like the 16, it felt like the 15.5 instead of an actual follow up. This looks like a total beast performance wise. It is interesting though- because as we continue to age the super max cushion shoes are slowly becoming extinct. I remember we were all blown away by the lebron 11 materials and cushion, but something lighter that keeps the support high quality is where it’s at today. Thanks for the video!
I love the way these look especially the white and orange that had a special drop but I will be getting a 16 on discount and picking up the 34. I just can't see how that C unit will work for competitive basketball. Thanks for all you guys do.
I got the command force colorway and the laces don’t go under the tongue like most other color ways and the graphics on the tongue are cleaner, as well as the translucent out soles. Good traction, good suppo
Actually rolled my ankle a few times while playing in the 15's. Before that I had the 9's. Granted I have weak joints but, my latest injury which happened not a week ago, could've been prevented had the 15 had those outriggers. Makes me wanna get the 16, definitely waiting on the reviews before I decide if I wanna go with the 16 or 17.
They look like the 15 (a little 16 and 9) mixed with the 8. I was sceptical about the back but it's ok. For me being a big guy they will be in my rotation when they go on sale after the 40th colorway 🙃
Wonder what it feels like and how stable it is when your running at full speed, heel striking + changing lateral direction. That air bag will probably create unstable surface for your heel. Dunno i may be wrong. Excited to see your perf review
@@WearTesters i know that but you do mention about feel on the court and traction and stuff which is alot more performance based compared to running for the bus every now and again😂
