I respectfully disagree. I am a 5'11 point guard who is 35. I play in a leauge where we don't always play on the nicest courts and I have no issues with traction, or lockdown...I have always had issues with rolling my ankles on other peoples feet ,and I do not have an issue with that in these at all...I think this is gonna be a shoe that some people hate or love...If you are a finess player that doesnt get too physical and want tonplay the 3 point line this might not be for you... one bad thing I will say about them is I wish they were a little more breathable .
Breathability and weight ... I'd think that'd bother you, especially being a PG ... Have you used any of the more recent shoes (KD 12, Jordan 34, etc) and how would you compare em?
@@topspot4834 yea the weight Doesnt bother me cause I am use to subbing that for support. macosly 1 Maybe you should.... Every player’s experience is different. I don’t understand the “not feeling secure” point or the traction. I’m only 5’9 and 140 pounds and I literally play like I always do. I’m super quick and flashy and had no issues doing spin moves, crossovers, and just some quick and hard dribble combos. He and a lot of reviewers don’t mention that the colorway matters on these. I got the infrareds and they have been absolutely amazing. So honestly if you wanted a pair I would go with the infrareds or any pair that has a semi-translucent outsole. Oh and I play at the YMCA. So I’m playing on dusty courts and honestly don’t even wipe that often. As I said the Infrared colorway is nice asf
Now is the time to buy. They're starting to pop up on discount racks. I wasn't going to pay $300+tax if I didn't need them and just liked how they look. Especially since the Lebron XVI is so much better performance wise.
Sir based on my experience traction bites well when it's being used over time. I can a sure u sir that when u use the shoes a couple time it will give you much better traction.
Same. Just got the james gang. The lace under the james gang logo makes the shoe feel a bit tight. Well compared to my other pair, I also have the ones that are black with the shiny purply colour sole and the swoosh changes colour (cant remember the name of that style lol) but those ones are honestly the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. So much so I wear em for work now
I waited for this one. I got the Monstars colorway and they alright. The only problem was the lacing since it was under the shroud. So I just adjusted it by relacing the shoe and putting the on top of the shroud just like lebron does.
Ty J I just got em I have an indoor practice tomorrow morning so imma break them in but so far the traction of and the feel of the bottom of the shoe is good so probably yeah but I’ll keep u updated
the lakers color way doesnt have the overlay on the tongue but due to that you can see the creases on the tongue but personally dont care to much about the creases so i copped a pair of the lakers colorway and its straight 🔥
JAHRONMON I think the air unit just makes the shoe too high of the ground (the video just started so I have no idea what do you think about this problem)

I had the Monstar colorway and had to send them back. That lacing system cut into the tendons on one foot and put a big blister on my foot. I felt funny walking around in them anyway.
personally, these shoes didn't seem to work well when you scale them down. I'm 6'4 and wear a size 13 and they're amazing. But, my friend had gotten a pair and he's a 9.5 and only 5'6, they didn't work for him at all, the cushion was very stiff, and they we're just overall unstable. TL;DR if you're under a size 11 or 10, I highly suggest you get something else.
Weartesters said the same thing, These just have poor or okay traction and the support feels like you could slip or roll. I feel like this shoe is meant for a heavier player or a big, Which is kind of a bummer cause I think the lebron 16 was a great all around and could be worn by anyone.
for me so far the 17's are pretty decent. I've been playing with the same colorway as you are and i to be honest i do love it wearing and playing on the court.
For all my Lebron 17s I put my laces over the tongue & man its a game changer 🔥 Im a 5’9 point guard and these work for me. Especially the monstars/future air colorway
the future air pair traction is better idk why but the material is different on the bottom of the shoe...the future air is an amazing shoe on the court

I scored a pair of the oreo for 73.00 I dont play basketball but I do like the comfort of them and they look really good...I'm a sucker for the air max system plus the good ankle support in these really help me alot.
Actually without that piece on the tongue holding the laces in, the tongue itself would slide over onto the lateral side of the foot after a while of playing in them. I know i have the Red Carpets and the HFR model, without it its unplayable.
