Another wonderfully crafted video. Nice to see Jenny getting more air time. Both of you are very charismatic, but in a different way, complementing each other.
So cool seeing you guys in Smithers as I lived there in 2022. I'm originally from Calgary so I've driven from there down the ice-field to Calgary in a day multiple time to see my family before. Glad you guys made it to my neck of the woods, it's fun looking for things I've seen in the video, haha!
I rode some in the early 90s, just local. Got caught on a ranch we weren’t supposed to be on (didn’t know). The rancher only asked if we had seen his calf that had come up missing. Excellent conversation then on our way. Fast forward to 2024. Been riding again for 10 years. I’m 65. Nothing but friendly farmers out here in our part of Texas. However, at an abandoned cotton gin, I would stop on the outside of the perimeter fence to photograph my bike and the gin. A relatively young owner came by once and told me to leave. I tried to strike up a conversation and was cursed at and threatened! Even after I moved off the property! In my attempt to converse I mentioned I am a retired Policeman, trying to set his mind at ease. It set him off and he went nuts! Obviously something going on there. So even in friendly rural Texas you run into hostility now and then. Enjoyed this video. Take care!
You two are awesome! I retire on the 29th November. On the 30th I'll roll off my driveway in Vegas and pedal to San Diego's eastern deserts for my first "live off a bike for weeks" trip. I've already done a week trip, but that's all paid time off would then allow. Then come spring of next year, free, I'll head out from home in Vegas to Maine. You two have been absolutely inspirational. Many, many thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us. Like Iohan (pronounced Yo-han) of "See the World", your videos have been life changing, a realization in video format that pedaling the world can be done.
A few years ago, I mountain biked the Great Divide route from Banff to the Mexican border and hoped to include the Icefields Pkwy, but when I saw all the vehicle traffic when I arrived in Banff, I chickened out. As it turns out, it isn't that bad and it would make a nice addition to a Great Divide ride. I've also ridden across Canada from Vancouver to Nova Scotia, and Canadians are some of the most courteous drivers I've ever encountered on a bicycle and I've been all over.
Fantastic! I was hoping you were going to make it down the Icefields Parkway. And it looks like you missed the wildfire that destroyed about one-third of Jasper.
Forget a frame pump. Buy a small FLOOR pump with a hose. It's very tiring to have to pump 80+ strokes with the pump flailing around mid air. I carry mine in my left plastic bike bin on top of my clothes.
They have videos about their bikes and load. I think it's the usual low 37/ 16T. Mine is 46/ 16T and my bike was near 120 lbs both tours. LOL I crossed BC in 2018 during my loop from Edmonton to NW Oregon and back thru Idaho and Cranbrook, etc.

I love how there's this unspoken universal constant amoung bicycle tourists that we all wear the same thing every day while riding. 😂
Haha, I bring TWO shirts on rides. So its either green shirt day or blue shirt day.
Thanks beautiful place, God Bless
Glad you got there before the fires! Great episode.

Ah yes! You still remember KFC Malaysia! You're most welcomed to come back here. Cycle Borneo next time eh!
I really liked your cycling trip. Can you tell me which camera you are using during this trip?
How stable did the Ogre feel at 48 MPH?
I have a question on frame pumps… what’s a decent solid quality frame pump you’d recommend for a long tour?
We used a 10 year old lezyne pocket drive pump for our entire around the world tour and it never let us down.
