Lol sims 2 & 3 were the best of the franchise we ever got i wish they would go back to their roots but right now with the way EA is making us pay for every little quality of life im really pushing towards life by you that has literally everyrhing off the bat!
Same sims 3 was really cool and felt Alive! I was always excited and could feel free and inspired because of that the game had an open world 🕊 Skill challenges, harder life time wishes etc etc. I literally still play it and enjoy it lol AND SIMS 2 TOO! ☺
I think that's a big ask. Sims 3 was an incredible game with tons of different features incorporated. In my eyes, it was only possible as it was an evolution of Sims 2, and I think it's a little unrealistic to expect a new game to be like that out from the start.
Something like occults is exactly what should be DLC so that if you're interested you can get it but if you want to leave that stuff out of your game you can skip it.
sims 4 is basically an empty game without the dlc's its BLANK like there's no snow no rain unless i pay and lets not talk about how parenthood \ grow together should been in one pack i paid for every single game pack and any other dlc's do uk why ? because they make huge changes in my game unlike life by you the it looks like the game it self is fun i dare u to play the sims 4 without any dlc's for straight two hours U JUST CANT if i had to play the sims 4 without any dlc's i would simply go play the sims 2 or 3 because they r more fun and interesting so let's just make it short and cute THE SIMS 4 PROBLEM IS THEY R GREEDY ASF THEY LOST THE PASSION AND ALL OF THEIR FOCUS IS JUST ON MONEY AND HOW TO GET MORE MONEY they give broken packs that doesn't work at all AND THEY GIVE SIMILIAR PACKS LIKE Cats and dogs + my first pet pack + horses + farm pack ----- all of those packs should've been in ONE PACK but nope they did not want to ---- werewolves and vampires and witches should've been also in one pack but THEY DID NOT WANT TO highschool and university should've also been in ONE PACK but they did not want to just think about if all of those packs weren't separated how it would make a huge changes for the gameplay and for the players too everyone would be happy its a win win for everyone EA would get their money and u wont see sims players complaining cause they are enjoying their game but nope i have to buy vampire pack and enjoy the pack and the few changes in my game for two hours then get bored and then buy werewolves and then get bored and then buy witches and the same sh*t on repeat but if i got it all in one package ? it would make huge and big changes in my game cause it'll take time for me to explore everything i'm not saying we should get stuff for free no but the least they could've done is putting more effort for the price we are paying instead of giving us broken dlc's till the part we have to use mods to fix it i won't compare or say life by you is better maybe they are worse than The Sims but as far as it looks they are putting effort and making sure to keep the player interested whether with dlc's or without dlc's they r making sure their game is fun and enjoyable not dead empty they know what the players want and they are taking NOTES they are LISTENING " EA on the other wise seems like their not listening at all they just give what they want and fix what they want cause seems like the wedding pack is still broken and unplayable" and its been more than one year and instead of fixing their packs their just releasing new other broken packs ???? MY ISSUE is not with paying nor wanting stuff for free I JUST WANT SOMETHING WORTH THE MONEY AND KEEPS ME INTERESTED I DO NOT WANT A BROKEN UNPLAYABLE DLC THAT COSTED MORE THAN 100$ it makes me feel like i've been scammed and lied to which is not cool at all @@Sim-dil-e-icious
@SimlikeitHot no actually!! Tons of people don't give a shit about occults and it would be really annoying and immersion breaking in game. Far better to have a fully fleshed out pack for occaults. If they added them to the base game they wouldn't be as good either. People don't care about lots of packs, we love them as gives much more choice. We have an issue with subpar broken packs that are never fixed, barely any content in them and split into numerous packs when it should be ONE and much better.
I think because LBY is meant to be a lot more realistic than The Sims having occults would make playing them even better. Like having to actually try to hide the fact you're a Vampire and not be seen drinking from someone or they'd be consciences.
Yesss! This is the first time I’ve ever disagreed w Satch haha, if it happens surely we can all crowd fund his purchase of it and see how it rates 😂 could be fuuun
100% agree ! So much potential in a game that is suppose to have regular "reactions" and not goofy ones like "so.. ur a mermaid...? " "yeah :D" "k cool" 🤣🤣
With the observables being a vampire would actually be a challenge in life by you. Like you said, you would actually have to try and hide drinking blood instead of doing it out in the open. I would actually want to play with them if that were the case.
It is controversial (the occult thing) but at the same time Life By You seems much more focused on mundane and real life, not on weird eeriness of the sims, something I think will be the difference between the two games. This game doesn't suit weird phenomenon like cowplants, supernaturals, or quirky npcs, but at the same time this could be a weakness of the game and a dealbreaker for a lot of people, personally I love making fantasy characters on the sims and doing the weird stuff, but at the same time Im very excited about life by you mainly out of curiosity because it just seems like such a different experience
The Sims still exist and not just Sims 4. I honestly don't think EVERY Sims player will abandon the Sims and that's ok. Life By You will have an audience for sure and EA will no longer have a guaranteed money pool b
Or we can all just play both. It’s like any other game with competitive similarities. I like racing games, but I’m not just going to buy one brand and not experience the others. It’s okay if both games are different, you play one depending on your mood or storytelling.
Maybe they can make an expansion pack with those for people who want that but I don't want supernaturals in my game. I disliked ghosts and I really didn't touch the weird side of the sims.
I believe that what interests me the most about Life by You, among other things, is the level of maturity and complexity. There are many simmers, myself included, who have been playing since The Sims 1 and we are getting older. My gamer friends from other games are between 20-35 years old. My simmer friends are women aged 40-60 who only play The Sims. In that regard, The Sims 4 feels more childish and much simpler than all the previous ones.
@@Sim-dil-e-icious i'm telling your government to lock you in a concrete room once you reach age 40 with only sim 4 screencaps to stare at for entertainment while your grandkids will be in virtual reality forgetting about your existence entirely
The issue is not that if you go too realistic you go uncanny valley - it's that they need to work on skin textures in particular. Uncanny valley is a valley - it ends on the other side when you get realistic enough. I also strongly disagree on occults - they are a staple. However, they need a more serious treatment than The Sims has treated them. Imagine vampires done like True Blood or Vampire: the Masquerade. Imagine magic users with more subtle effects who must go through long rituals. They can work with LBY.
It is a valley! But it is a lot easier to create a dynamic, cartoonish, full of life style than to reach the other side without having to renounce to the 'alive' feel. Realistic textures are not gonna fix the problem. In fact, I get the feeling it has more to do with the lack of expression, of poses and of movement than with the lack of textures. I'd even say it is because the style is quite vague (not too realistic, not too cartoonish, instead rather impersonal) that it doesn't seem to have that much personality itself. It doesn't convey that much. They'd need to take more extreme decisions to fix that kind of visual problem, I think.
THIS, I really hope when they come to supernatural DLC eventually, they'll work with white wolf, which now under paradox as well, because Mage the Ascension has one of the best magic system, imo.
@@ysabelherreragonzalez7937 I agree they need to work on texture, but not in a sense of make it realistic, just add more shadows and contouring to make it more defined. Its like the difference between maxis and alpha CC skin. The texture alone can make a huge diffence in how we perceive their faces. Right now its like a basic color gradient. Also the model by itself have weird proportions, short arms arm and narrow dropped shoulders. I think they have a different team working on the aesthethic of the game and only in the end they will replace these defaults characters.
I think a dlc would be the perfect place to include occults for LBY - those of us who strongly prefer occult life sim play could purchase it and those who do not want occults in their town can save their money. Sounds like a win/win to me! Personally, while I am very happy with a more realistic look to the world and characters, and definitely want realistic gameplay to an extent, I have to admit that I am coming to the game from wrestling with reality for a bit of a break: too much realism will dampen my enthusiasm! Which is one reason why I will be very happy if occult dlc is ever offered!
Honestly, given the fact they repeatedly stated they would work on the graphics and characters, I’m more than excited to see where it goes once they improve those.
Yeah, I really hope they fix that up. I feel like everything looks very foggy and blurry and dark and the colors are not very nice either. And like Satch says everything kind of looks like it’s got Vaseline all over it.
@@Couldntcomeupwahandle okay but tbf one of their most recent videos where they do a town tour has improved graphics? Like if you compare it to the trailer and how plastic everything felt there and that video, the greenery especially looks so so nice in the latter one
On your occult question, I personally might not get either Paralives or Life by You if they don't eventually have occults. I love occult/supernatural stuff & it might be a deal breaker for me. I won't get either until they've been out for a handful of months anyway, just to see how good gameplay is
I believe Occult is really depend on people taste and it's optional. Imagine you believe that Vampire is so cool and want it to be exist so you want it to exist in your game and I think it still make sense in LBY style somehow 😂.
Sims 2 is the best game due to the WEIRD stuff you can do ahaha, like agnus just came out of my wishing well because I wished for love to many times and she’s BEATING me with her purse and ruining my life 😂 I sucked all the aspirations out of my neighbors and I am obsessed with grilled cheese and he HATES me 😂 like sims 4 could never, we need weird unrealistic game play, that’s what makes it so fun and shocking! Don’t forget the penguin running in your house if you leave a fish on the floor! Or the secret hangouts if you max a hobby.
I think Life By You has potential but it needs to be really super interesting off the bat if it wants to compete with Sims 4. People have sunk a lot of hours (and money) into that game and may not be as willing to jump ship if there is no incentives
@@findingbrookiso many people say they are done while buying every new pack. The two newest packs are so popular and made EA so much money they won't stop milking sims any soon
I'm not done with sims 4, will likely buy sims 5 (if it's not some weird payment structure like a subscription or something), and have already paid a lot into Paralives via patreon because I want there to be *more* life simulation games, not a replacement for the one game franchise I've been playing with since I was a kid. I'm excited to see how LBY turns out as well. I think it's a little weird to cheer on the death of a game that we all supposedly love, however I do think the variety will help spur on a Renaissance of life simulation games and light a much needed fire under ea to allow for more creative freedom and more content included in the dlc they do put out.
I think there are a lot of people who jumped ship after Sims 2 and Sims 3 because they didn't feel Sims 4 was a worthy sequel. I jumped ship after Growing Together and absolutely refuse to buy any other Sims 4 packs at this point, and probably not Sims 5 since it's more than likely going to be even worse.
Im actually digging the way life by you looks it reminds me of playing IMVU & second life back in the day and i like its not super cartoony it feels more mature and as a married mom who loves gaming i dig it i wonder how the voices are gonna be 😂
It's a paradox game and they had made a magic DLC in their historical game, and it became one of the best DLC they ever made, and honestly, their best DLC, even in a historical game, tend to be the one with a "fantasy" touch in it. I, as an occult player, want occult DLC, but not game pack like the sims, but fully create your own supernatural dlc.
@@fueyo2229Monk and mystics, and Holy Fury from CK2, and, although it's not necessarily great, Sunset Invasion is also a fantasy seeing it's about the Inca invading Europe.
Yes… yes it will be. Also the more video updates we get every Friday, the smoother the animation and graphics look (for all you people that complain about aesthetics)
I disagree with the occult pack DLC. Personally, I really enjoy playing occults in games. I do hope they add it, but I want the DLC's to be isolated in a way that doesn't affect the non occult game play. Like if there was a mermaid occult DLC, all the features & game play should be isolated to the whole mermaid theme only (e.g. superpowers, underwater interactions, etc). People who don't want to play with mermaids won't need to buy that specific DLC and it won't affect gameplay what so ever because they won't be missing out on anything to do with non-mermaid gameplay.
I like that. I've never purchased any Sims packs like paranormal, werewolves etc because I'm just not into that gameplay, and I'm all for it being available for people who love it, but please let that not interfere with my little world
I LOVE fantasy DLC. If LBY didn't have any, I REALLY would not be happy about that. I also enjoy a good amount of goofiness and think that could be incorporated without loss of immersion. I don't just want to simulate real life, I have a real life and I can just live it. lol Love your content, as always.
Personally I would really miss the option of having occultis, especially because it could be just that, an option. But ever since TS1 Makin' Magic I found the quirkiness of it so much fun and such a great escape from mundane, everyday life. I hope that's not just the precedent set by the capitalistic machine that is The Sims, maybe they have gotten to me even deeper than I realized. 😮
I think that occult dlc would be ok, but the regular game and other packs should stay grounded in reality, so that players who want a more fantasy experience can have that but you don't need to
Regarding the “lack of personality” comment. I think the problem is that we’re comparing Life By You to the Sims empire of 1-4. But really this is their first go, so outside of graphics, this is their Sims 1. Give them time. Lord knows this community gave Maxis/EA endless chances. 😂
@@Sim-dil-e-icious never said it was. I said it was their sims 1. As in this is the first iteration of their game so to cut them some slack. Not sure what you’re defending.
Gives me the vibes I got when I first got into the sims games, back in the Bustin' Out era. Fingers crossed. And yeah, its funny you say that the sims has always been a cash grab. I was watching an old review for the console version of Sims Bustin Out from Judgement Day. Back 20 years ago they were complaining that the sims had way too many EPs coming out.
I only bought TS4 occult packs for the CAS and B&B, since I'm not a huge fan of the occults themselves. I know I wouldn't buy occult DLC for LbY since so far it seems they're fleshing out the game enough to be enjoyable even if you don't own every pack. I'd be happy for the people who love to play with occults, it just wouldn't be for me
Hyper-realistic will come with higher PC requirements. I mean, some of us want the game to be playable. I think if they build and improve on what they already have, they will be headed in the right direction.
I think an occult dlc would be the best option, like it's a lot but still a dlc, not something you have to buy for you to enjoy the game, unlike the Sims 4 where the dlc are like, necessary or the base game is just flat. Also would mean that they are serious that their base game is a solid game first, and extras are just add-ons. (Occults, a new world, etc)
I'm not a huge occult player, but I feel like ghosts and the grim reaper really are a necessary component for a life sim. Maybe I'm biased in The Sims' way of doing things and I need to just see how I feel when it actually comes out (and whether Paralives can just be a substitute when I really need a supernatural/goofy approach), but my initial thoughts consist of wariness about having no supernatural elements at all.
Great that it will be ultra customizable but for me I hope it will be unpredictable. That's what I miss because I don't want to incite everything myself. I hope the LBYans do things on their own.
I personally don't like the realistic graphics - if anything is disproportionate, items, environment, scenery, etc., or less realistic, then the immersion will be instantly broken. I think the benefit of more simplistic graphics is that it's easier for everything to be consistent, and immersion is less easily broken if it isn't. Realistic graphics also make the game age much quicker, imo. Also, is it just me, or are the character proportions a bit off? Like their arms are too short, or legs too long - gives me Lego vibes, especially with how they currently have 'claw' hands when they're idle.
Yea totally agree. I'm not that into it. Looks like it would be a huge load on a computer too. So im sitting here thinking and they want you to mod it?! I will probably have to upgrade my comp just to play it with mods.
It’s sort of hilarious to me how non-occult player think that since they don’t play with occults, how nobody should be allowed to have occults. It ain’t the proper take, Sis.
No one thinks you shouldn't have occults but it is a life Sim not a magical fantasy game. It's okay for the games to have different things in them or they'd just be doing the Sims all over again. Occult games are great, but every new life sim doesn't have to be one with occults especially considering it is the most unlike-real-life part of Simming. People claim they want real then get upset when they don't have vampires and werewolves. What the heck?
@@TheDawnofVanlifeit's cause these people want sims but better and cheaper, they will compare these games to sims in every aspect, and since sims got occults it's just logical every life simulator will have occults right?? Ugh, I'm so done, there will be so many people disappointed these games ARENT sims 🙄
@@benn87 The last 30 seconds of this video is a RUclipsr proclaiming how he doesn’t like occult gameplay and does not want occult gameplay in these upcoming games. Obviously, someone cares enough to make a RUclips video about it. 🤷🏻♂️
As far as dlc goes, the main ones i want are some type of City Living or night life, and Celebrities. I would love to have a pack where your human or sim can be an artist in any genre and be able to perform on stage, collab with artist and be stalked by the paparazzi. Like i actually need this in the gameplay for celebs so we can actually see the come up and creative process with artist and record labels. Same with models etc. i actually would like occult dlc. only as dlc though. In the sims3 there where so many different things you could with dlc, take mermaids and creatures for example, you could take adventures and find hidden gems in caves etc. But i do think it needs be conscious. What i mean is that say you were a mermaid, what would happen if a human saw you get wet and turn into one.
I think Paralives and Life by you will be 2 fundamentally different games and offer their own spin on the life simulation genre. So I think you will like both games in their own way. Anyway, I am looking forward to both games.
I'm also wondering if they will do dlc that's like a "modders resources" type pack. Given the tools they are putting out for the game, a pack like that might be way better received. Then you can create a lot of new content for yourself or others.
I think a Vampire DLC could work if it was darker and more like old Dracula Vampire lore, instead of just being goofy and more annoying than dangerous, if they show up.
I hope there will be no occult stuff or it comes as an optional DLC. Because its more realistic than the Sims, you can to so much other stuff (Yachts, Car and motorbike tuning and/or racing, A realistic misician carier and so on).
Im soooo excited for this! I love realistic graphics it makes me more interested in game too for some reason. 🥰 I hate all the ohhh let's be kid friendly etc. If you want to be kid friendly just make a censor turn on and off in options menu or smth idk, Im happy that The Sims will suffer a little now, EA needs a hard pinch to wake up haha 😅
Occults? I would like to see maybe a DLC at the very least for this. If you don't want occults, don't get the DLC. The problem I have with the Sims 4 occults is that they are very limited. Doing odd things in these games are what I like. One of the things I do with realm of magic is "make a living" stealing stuff. I know you can do this without magic, but this just seems more fun. However, you seem to be able to magically steal stuff right in front of the owner with no repercussions. I wish there was a way totune the reactions of non occult NPCs. Maybe it may be that it might be possible to add your own mode to do this, which would be nice.
i personally would be interested in super natural dlc bcuz 1 it would be so good since theyre making it and 2 its totally optional as dlc should be and 3 i super enjoy playing as fantasy creatures 4 honestly ppl can probably just make a mod for it lmao which would be nice since it would prolly be free since its a mod :3
I feel like Supernatural elements and occults would be perfect for a DLC because it becomes optional. If Life By You were to release DLCs, it would make sense for them to be along the lines of "Hey, we know not everyone wants this so we didn't include it in the base game but we'll add it on the side." With that being said, I also expect their DLCs to be more like those of the Sims 3 where they felt more worth the money than with the Sims 4. Something like The Sims 3 Supernatural EP but even better. Fingers crossed.
It's not controversial, its just your opinion for not wanting any sort of occult/supernatural. I personally would want them as a DLC option that way for folks who aren't interested in that they can just skip getting it.
Paralives isn't wanting to add occult gameplay and neither is Life by You. At least not initially. Looks like people will have to either stick to Sims or go without it until someone makes an occult mod for either game. Personally I dont want them wasting their early resources on adding occults into the base game. Make a good base and if the feedback is great, focus on making a well made occult DLC for players who want that kind of gameplay. I love medieval gameplay myself, but I also don't want them wasting their finite early resources on adding jousting, sword fights, and burning at the stake animations to the game. I can wait.
If the conversations actually matter. Like if they don't repeat that much and I'd want to actually talk to other characters for once. I'll be so happy. And gameplay. It looks like it has gameplaaayyy. Finally.
Idk I would love to have occults but they actually be realistic (I know they’re not actually real but you get what I mean). Like having to hide the fact that you’re this fantasy creature and ruining relationships, etc. because of it. I just love the idea of occults and it would be such a cool thing to have
Yes, in the original The Sims you had to hide that you were a magic user and pretend it was just entertainment. It would be fun to have a game where being an occult has serious consequences. You shouldn't be able to bite people in public or set them on fire and then go to work the next day like nothing happened.
I am really interested in this game, but rn the character design is, as you said, “uncanny valley.” I’d go a step further, and say they all look like warmed over zombies. Their bodies look broken and their eyes are glazed and empty. I want to love this game, so I very much hope that they take some strides towards fixing this before launch.
The way the lighting is and the lack of…. something I can’t put my finger on…. kinda turns me off from LBY but I really really want to love it. The way they walk is very odd to me…. The lighting seems very… glowy and too soft almost. The lack of facial expressions is throwing me off too I think. But I’m sure they’ll improve on it all before the game is released.
Occults is definitely what I want as DLC, not in the base game. Same for disasters, if they ever consider that. Actually, I'd want animals to also be DLC, as they will probably take up a lot of resources and have a major impact on many aspects of gameplay. Even weather / seasons, but that may be just me.
I personally would love an occult pack for Life By You! Maybe they can have an option to turn that off for those who don't want it, but a more realistic werewolf would be sick!
I think where their characters struggle most is the lack of emotion to the characters. They look pretty dead faced and that is off putting to a lot of people. I don't want them to go over extreme or cartoony with their character's behavior but they need to bring some warmth and emotion to them. But it's early still, hopefully that will come as development continues.
It actually make sense if dont they add occults. But if they are aiming for adult public a crime DLC could create interesting gameplay. Something like basemental drugs. Add violence, crime, robbery, drug dealer. The violence doesnt need to be explicit or have guns, just something that resemble a real fight. A DLC with diseases or natural disaster like tornado, earthquake could add challenge while making the game realistic and set them apart from sims.
To be honest, I find Life by You as a blank game. Like there's no mystery, no lores, nothing unique. It's really more like a simulation, rather than a game. I personally play only Sims 2 and 3 cause I think 4 is, you know. Guess I'll probably won't buy or play other life-simulation games in the future.
Which imo if Life by You final product is like that it's alright. I, and many simmers, like to play with a vision/story in mind and don't touch the premades or delete them if they don't fit. It's nice we can have two games that cater to different play styles!
Idk if I have ever played as a lore character (Bella Goth example), and im happy this game is this 'blank', like a full on simulation game not a dlc simulator
Of course, there is no lore or mystery, the game hasn't even finished yet. you didn't hear any lore about bella goth being a child either when ts3 was still in development, right? you know the lore after it was RELEASED.
I didn't want any of the occult packs for TS4. I got Werewolves when it came out because of the build aesthetic. I got into the gameplay and was pleasantly surprised. Because of the lore, I decided to get Vampires and Realm of Magic, but have never truly played either. In TS2, a new occult came with each EP so I didn't go out of my way to get them. I rarely played them, either. I have a base game only save that I have been playing to "get ready" for LBY since I'm so used to all the DLC. It can be enjoyable, but that relies on imagination, and I'm excited for that with LBY.
I hope they end up fixing the graphics a bit. It’s the only thing that really bothers me. I feel like everything looks very foggy and blurry and dark and the colors are not very nice either. And like Satch says everything kind of looks like it’s got Vaseline all over it. The game also just looks outdated and old. We’ve got good technology now for good graphics.
LOL, I was saying I hope the first expansion is occults. We seriously play occults and really want them in LBY. But I do support it being an expansion so that those who don't want occults and just not get that expansion.
Best feature or game system they need to apply should be "Experience" in conjunction with traits. For example, for the trouble maker person in their childhood, interactions and experience and struggles like school bullies or a mentor with good trait, or having debts while struggling to find a job for not meeting requirements, will affect how they turn out as adults and give them new traits negative or bad just depending on the experience they got in their lifetime. That would really add a lot of realism and personality to the characters. It's ambitious but it is possible. It's just a matter of conditional branches. Thousands of conditional branches 😂😂😂
I'm very excited for Life By You and Paralives! The Sims used to be my favorite game series, but The Sims 4 has really ruined the franchise for me, and all these 5 rumors have made me nervous that it's not going to get any better. The Sims has major competition and I'm here for it 👏
I'm starting to see the appeal of a more serious "sims" game in LBY. Sim City (yes I'm old) originally had such a serious overtone and I loved that game. It gradually got more goofy and cartoonish over time along with the sims, and I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with that but I am curious to see what life would've been like if that development didn't happen.
I'm personally not a big fan of occult play but I know a lot of simmers are. Simulation games are meant to be a sandbox game and I think something a bit goofy like supernaturals in its own DLC is okay. So the people who like to play with that can get that DLC and those who don't can just skip that. Personally I really enjoy university gameplay and I agree something like that would rather be in a DLC because it's not for everyone. Other dlc's I can imagine that could come are a get famous kind of pack, a pack that adds vacations or a farming pack that will add barn animals, chickens, horses, that kind of stuff. Because all of those things can expand your game in a way, but you don't have the fear of missing out if you don't have them or don't like that kind of gameplay. Has there been any news on if there are going to have different sizes of dlc's? Like are they only going to have "expension" sized dlc's or also smaller ones? I'm not that familiar with Paradox and their DLC system.
The look of the characters in LBY is growing on me. There is a lot of opportunity to create very different looking characters. I like supernatural elements SOMETIMES, but usually I just want more realistic gameplay. For example, in Sims 3. I love the build items and especially the gem cutter from the Supernatural pack, but when I'm focusing on a more realistic gameplay, I don't want a werewolf or fairy spawning. Traits and how they affect a character's actions and decisions are key to good gameplay. Maybe it's me, but it seems like a lot of conversations I see in LBY, the response to an "innocent" comment - "Let's go get a coffee" or "WTF are you wearing" has a response that could easily lead to romantic interactions. This is okay, I guess as a lot of players like this kind of gameplay where romance is at the center of everything, and a person can steer things back to friendship or an antagonistic vein. Personally, I like a little romance opportunity, but I like to focus on other things, and am fine if my character never finds a mate but has other adventures.
I wouldn't mind seeing a medium being in the game, but wouldn't want ghosts to be playable characters. That's as far as I'd want to take it for occults.
Personally I think occult stuff would fit well in the game, it opens the door for different religious beliefs, people who want to be vampires/ wolves, I think it would be funny to run into a werewolf club where they're all just humans howling sometimes and they camp together??? Idk lol
I really don't understand the double standards in this community. How is it ok for Life by you to come out incomplete and leave it to the moders but if The sims 4 is like that where some features require mods ppl think it's unacceptable. That crowd screaming "this should've come at the beginning" and "How did this take so many years to be added" are so quick to justify Life by you being half arsed
I have to say I agree on the reviewer who said the game’s graphics aren’t the best. Not saying their bad more just, forgettable? There’s nothing that makes you feel visually interested. It’s like a very nice mobile game, yeah they’re okay but will I remember and think “they I really liked looking at that”, “hey this game has charm” or “Hey this game is 10 years old but still looks good!” No it doesn’t have that, maybe because I’m a maxis match person but style makes things more memorable. Everyone wants realism and style, what makes a game stand out is charm. To be fair, games with realistic styles *can* work and stand out but those games still stylize to make themselves stand out. Think lighting, mood or characters.
I agree with almost all the points brought up except for what was said about the characters and not wanting them to look too realistic. I disagree, I think the more realistic the better the most downloadable mods for the sims are ones to make the Sims characters look as realistic as possible. To me the Life by You characters aren't realistic enough yet, or maybe it's that they're lacking some polish that I hope will get worked on before release.
Oh this honestly all Sounds really fun. I do agree with you that the characters need some Work and feel a little Generic but honestly i don't really Care anymore. This Game seems really fun in the gameplay aspect! I'm a big Fan of having more City stuff so i'm still very much looking Forward to paralives, but all my Problems with Life by you seem to be going away and so i will 100% getting this Game it's gonna be so fun!
other people have said this but i disagree with the occult thing too! the game can go for a more realistic vibe, and then occult stuff being dlc makes sense. since dlc is meant to be extra content ofc, something that doesnt fit the games main goal being a seperate pack makes sense to me, and if you wanna keep your game to just realism you can just not play with the pack. plus, as many other people have said, they could do it very differently to the sims, with stuff like more consequences for drinking blood as a vampire and stuff. I May be a little biased bc i love vampires so much lol and not just in the sims in any game
It's interesting that to become the best life sim game it has to surpass sims 3 and not 4 lol
And Sims 2! Best one in my opinion
Definitely, I'm a sims 3 girl, I would love it if they pretty much applied sims 4 graphics to the sims 3 😅
@@KarleeHankinand the sims 4 cas😫😫 it would be perfect
😂 I agree. Like surpassing Sims 4 is childplay. Try being a better game than Sims 2 and 3 and then we'll call it great.😂
Lol sims 2 & 3 were the best of the franchise we ever got i wish they would go back to their roots but right now with the way EA is making us pay for every little quality of life im really pushing towards life by you that has literally everyrhing off the bat!
Girlies... At this point, I'm not hoping for the best game ever.
Just being marginally better than Sims 3 is golden in my books 🥴
Same sims 3 was really cool and felt Alive! I was always excited and could feel free and inspired because of that the game had an open world 🕊 Skill challenges, harder life time wishes etc etc. I literally still play it and enjoy it lol AND SIMS 2 TOO! ☺
I think that's a big ask. Sims 3 was an incredible game with tons of different features incorporated. In my eyes, it was only possible as it was an evolution of Sims 2, and I think it's a little unrealistic to expect a new game to be like that out from the start.
Idc every company needs time to improve sooo chill out hah 😅@@noork5782
i would be happy with it being a tiny bit worse then sims 3 but with good perfromance xD
It won’t be as charming or immersive as TS2 or TS3. It will definitely be a step up from TS4 in terms of gameplay though.
I would love if they took a more serious route with occult packs tbh especially if it had more horror elements or more real life witch/monster lore
Something like occults is exactly what should be DLC so that if you're interested you can get it but if you want to leave that stuff out of your game you can skip it.
sims 4 is basically an empty game without the dlc's its BLANK like there's no snow no rain unless i pay and lets not talk about how parenthood \ grow together should been in one pack i paid for every single game pack and any other dlc's do uk why ? because they make huge changes in my game unlike life by you the it looks like the game it self is fun i dare u to play the sims 4 without any dlc's for straight two hours U JUST CANT if i had to play the sims 4 without any dlc's i would simply go play the sims 2 or 3 because they r more fun and interesting
so let's just make it short and cute THE SIMS 4 PROBLEM IS THEY R GREEDY ASF THEY LOST THE PASSION AND ALL OF THEIR FOCUS IS JUST ON MONEY AND HOW TO GET MORE MONEY they give broken packs that doesn't work at all AND THEY GIVE SIMILIAR PACKS LIKE Cats and dogs + my first pet pack + horses + farm pack ----- all of those packs should've been in ONE PACK but nope they did not want to ---- werewolves and vampires and witches should've been also in one pack but THEY DID NOT WANT TO highschool and university should've also been in ONE PACK but they did not want to just think about if all of those packs weren't separated how it would make a huge changes for the gameplay and for the players too everyone would be happy its a win win for everyone EA would get their money and u wont see sims players complaining cause they are enjoying their game
but nope i have to buy vampire pack and enjoy the pack and the few changes in my game for two hours then get bored and then buy werewolves and then get bored and then buy witches and the same sh*t on repeat but if i got it all in one package ? it would make huge and big changes in my game cause it'll take time for me to explore everything i'm not saying we should get stuff for free no but the least they could've done is putting more effort for the price we are paying instead of giving us broken dlc's till the part we have to use mods to fix it
i won't compare or say life by you is better maybe they are worse than The Sims but as far as it looks they are putting effort and making sure to keep the player interested whether with dlc's or without dlc's they r making sure their game is fun and enjoyable not dead empty they know what the players want and they are taking NOTES they are LISTENING " EA on the other wise seems like their not listening at all they just give what they want and fix what they want cause seems like the wedding pack is still broken and unplayable" and its been more than one year and instead of fixing their packs their just releasing new other broken packs ????
MY ISSUE is not with paying nor wanting stuff for free I JUST WANT SOMETHING WORTH THE MONEY AND KEEPS ME INTERESTED I DO NOT WANT A BROKEN UNPLAYABLE DLC THAT COSTED MORE THAN 100$
it makes me feel like i've been scammed and lied to which is not cool at all
@@Sim-dil-e-icious
@@remy1016 Hell yeah! Let's get the word out xD
I would actually want to play with them if that were the case.
yes ocults could be more secretive and mysterious, making spotting and identifying one really hard.
I do want occults! But I think it’s reasonable to make it DLC b/c I can understand how not everyone would and should be optional.
Its not Sims, theres no lore nor anything sims related
The Sims still exist and not just Sims 4. I honestly don't think EVERY Sims player will abandon the Sims and that's ok. Life By You will have an audience for sure and EA will no longer have a guaranteed money pool b
Or we can all just play both. It’s like any other game with competitive similarities. I like racing games, but I’m not just going to buy one brand and not experience the others. It’s okay if both games are different, you play one depending on your mood or storytelling.
I've never planted a cowplant? Not into supernaturals. Life By You is perfect for me. I'm so excited.

@@Sim-dil-e-iciousbro not you having over 300 comments on satchs channel and all of them are just pure hate, get a life
The issue is not that if you go too realistic you go uncanny valley - it's that they need to work on skin textures in particular.
Yeah graphics and creator creation are the two things I’m still unsure about. However, I’m eager for a new life sim to compete with the sims.

People have sunk a lot of hours (and money) into that game and may not be as willing to jump ship if there is no incentives
from what ive been seeing ppl are already done w/ the sims 4 & a lot of ppl arent even excited for the sims 5.

Which DLC and game? I play a lot of Paradox historical games but I don't recall any Magic DLC.

Yeah I’d be happy over an occult dlc too :3
I like that.
I think humans in Life by You just yet lack some facial animations. When they will ad those, it will look much much better👌
I was thinking the same thing. They look like they are always wearing a mask now, that has to change before release.
I don't mind dlc either if it's done right and not micro transactions
I think an occult dlc would be the best option, like it's a lot but still a dlc, not something you have to buy for you to enjoy the game, unlike the Sims 4 where the dlc are like, necessary or the base game is just flat.
Also would mean that they are serious that their base game is a solid game first, and extras are just add-ons. (Occults, a new world, etc)
Im very excited by Life by you, I can’t wait! Shanice Shanice will look fabulous 😂

It ain’t the proper take, Sis.
yeah i love occults, like i'll have a normal sim marry a werewolf or something, but i guess thats why we have the Sims for that.

Damn, I would love to go to a video game convention with you!! Sounds like a blast! 😂❤
Like your content especially your honest pack reviews greetings from switzerland 🇨🇭
I wish there’s a simulation game that’s a combination of sims, second life and GTA.
I hope there will be no occult stuff or it comes as an optional DLC. Because its more realistic than the Sims, you can to so much other stuff (Yachts, Car and motorbike tuning and/or racing, A realistic misician carier and so on).
Are they doing to make them look a little less ugly tho LOL ill def play it but they look scary rn

Im soooo excited for this!
I can't wait to play this game...the conversation seems so fun
Paradox is known for their occult gameplay so expect to see that at some point lol.
I can wait.
it’s giving second life from the office when dwight was depressed

I think this has huge potential, reminds me a wee bit of half life (a generation ago) but ckearly so much more than that, but along those lines?
@@arantxaortiz2757 I'm glad we have different perspectives!
@@saaramatafaka that's also true!!
It can be enjoyable, but that relies on imagination, and I'm excited for that with LBY.
theyre not gonna change the graphics this late into production btw
@3:35 Yes! Because modders are also gamers and know what we all want. 😂
The Sims has major competition and I'm here for it 👏
Any time he talks about simulation gamesI just think of him talking about the sims
Not satch being ghosted 😂
I'm not that familiar with Paradox and their DLC system.
hey love you vids satch
The design kinda reminds Me of the sims 3 for some reason
Hmm. Like gameplay wise looks interesting for sure, but I just find the art style so unappealing..
I honestly keep forgetting this game is even being made 🤷♀️
I really enjoys the vampire pack tho.
Personally, I like a little romance opportunity, but I like to focus on other things, and am fine if my character never finds a mate but has other adventures.
ehhh.. I can't get passed how the people look. The graphics are just not my style personally.
Idk lol
It seems to me to be like if sims 3 had the technology to be what it could have been
I'm still not sold on Life by You... it seems like it will need a lot of modding to make it interesting and it's not really my style...
I played sims since a kid and never really liked playing with occults I like realistic gameplay😂❤
The only thing that I don't like much abt the game is this more alpha like style, I'm more of a pretty characters art girly
The world looks fine tho
I really don't understand the double standards in this community. How is it ok for Life by you to come out incomplete and leave it to the moders but if The sims 4 is like that where some features require mods ppl think it's unacceptable.
That crowd screaming "this should've come at the beginning" and "How did this take so many years to be added" are so quick to justify Life by you being half arsed
Satch on sims is the best!
To me the Life by You characters aren't realistic enough yet, or maybe it's that they're lacking some polish that I hope will get worked on before release.
the humans still look extremely trash i dont think these had been worked on o - o; my god
