Consultants will be used the same way that data is used.
If there is data that supports what the devs want to do, they'll cite it in their patch notes.
If there isn't data that supports what the devs want to do, they'll do it anyway.
If consultants agree with a proposed change, they may say so. "Our expert consultants approved this change!"
If the consultants don't agree with it, they won't be mentioned and the change will go through anyway.

Will either be one of 2 things
    1. The consultants are cherry picked morons that make stupid decisions like the devs do.
    2. The consultants are actually competent but BHVR will ignore all their advice.

While I wouldn't put it past BHVR, it seems like if all they wanted was a scapegoat, they'd have told us about the consultants sooner - they've been around since before Legion was added, after all. I think it's more likely BHVR just doing their usual thing - setting up the infrastructure for taking player feedback and then never using it.

No where to hide is especially good on unknown because it's auras around you, not the gen so you can teleport instantly after kicking the gen and see people that might be around after you teleport 😁😁

Whether BHVR is using consultants as escape goats intentionally, I don't know...
But I'm a believer that at least some people are gonna pull that excuse out everytime there's a bad/unpopular change happening. "Oh, maybe it was a consultant!", which is to be expected if people are lead to be believe they have great influence in the game's design.
So, in practice, I think the end result is gonna be the same, even if it's not intentional. I do hope BHVR has the best intentions in mind though and that they're clear about upcoming changes they make and the consultant's role in those.

@@adishyfishy damn it, I had written it right initially, as scapegoat.
      Eh, that happens.
It's my second language after all.

There is active work being put in onto improving the testing infrastructure, but for legal reasons we can't have access to everything from the inside, it's a security risk.
There are clear examples where the current system failed and its being improved which takes a bit of time. The influence from the consultants is steadily improving, but its also not my full time job to do that I have other things to do make my living (create content)
I also don't think Vecna on release was as strong as you make it out be personally, so I'll have to disagree on that.

BHVR baited with Vecna by making mage hand insane but nerfed him after the chapter sales slowed to appease survivors. Whoever these so-called people are, they suck at making the game better in the game or out of it. I guarantee I will not buy any more chapters now that I know the product you purchase is not the one you get.
