    I'm glad our US vets are featured by an American network. Their valor will live forever, at least among the diminishing number who actually know about WW II in our broken education system. That rant is for another video.

    I grew up in Portsmouth , England and was raised with history of D-Day. There is museum there and recently a restored original landing craft has been installed close to beach where so many troops , ships and boats left for the shores of Normandy.. My Father was a Captain in the British Army and my Grandfather both fought in WW2.. We remain eternally indebted to this incredibly brave and admirable generation .Lest we forget 🌺

      Gotta respect those guys. Combat engineers had one of (if not THE) most dangerous jobs on D-Day. They landed first, and literally had to run up the beach and clear mines, wire, and obstacles to make a "safe" route for the troops to follow. Needless to say, engineers took staggering losses - but got the job done.

      @@stephencooper3583 Weren't Seabees of the Naval Combat Demolition Units (NCDUs) that did those clearing mine and obstacle jobs on D-day? I know Army engineers do that as well, but I just never heard about Army engineers doing that on D-day.

    • @stephencooper3583
      @stephencooper3583 3 месяца назад +1

      @@dallasyap3064 ... you're not wrong... both jobs involve clearing obstacles. Seabees operated closer to the water, clearing the way for more boats to land. Combat engineers operated further up on land to clear the way for the troops to move up the beach. Both were essential for the attack to succeed.
      Anyway, yeah, there were lots of combat engineers on D-Day. Engineer units took some of the heaviest losses of any type of unit.

    June 6th was Rommel's wife's birthday and the German general went to visit her. Had Rommel and the Panzer tank battalions been on the beaches at Normandy the largest amphibious land invasion in military history may not have succeeded.

      I can't believe anyone is so uninformed they still believe the Russia collusion lie. Read the books by Lee Smith and Greg Jarrett. The only ones colluding with Russia are Hillary in 2016 laundering her collusion through Christopher Steele and the dossier, Perkins Coie law firm , Danshenko, Million , Musfid . The FBI knew the dossier was a work of fiction but lied . Hillary and her phony foundation made millions from Kremlin connected oligarchs
      . The mayor of Moscow, the richest woman in Russia, gave the Bidens millions. The sources for the dossier were paid to lie and admitted it. Adam Schiff would often go to the SKIF and say there was no connection between Trump and Russia and then lie and tell the press he has compelling evidence that Trump colluded with Russia .

    MAY GOD BLESS AMERICA ! I was born April 6, 1945. I thank these men for giving me a chance at life. They gave the ultimate sacrifice. I will always be grateful. May God protect us from ALL EVIL that tries to destroy this great country and Democracy. From Putin to Trump, may they be silenced where they stand and NEVER bring us to this horrible end again. May God keep them in chains for the rest of their miserable lives. God bless America ! 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲

    So many of these brave young men gave their lives for total strangers… So that they could be Free. ❤️‍🩹🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦. 🤷🏾 Yet today, we have our very own governments, stripping our freedoms from us, as we saw in the circus trial of Donald Trump.
    This is a great video to watch with your children or grandchildren, it is only 13 minutes long and so it is short enough for the kids to keep their attention. 😑 I seriously doubt they’re teaching this in our so called schools.
