Just got the ebac 12L with smart. Great bit of kit, no more wet windows. Amazing to think that in the damp old UK the houses are built with no air management systems in place, when you consider the price of property is 5 to 10 times the average salary.
@@alcurtis93They sold truly poorly. No reflection on the kit in question, but a lot of buyers are only interested in cost and nothing else, so that impacted sales. UK manufacturing costs more in terms of raw materials and labour so the purchase price is higher than a item made in the far east, but costs less in the long run in terms of paying into the British economy, supporting UK jobs, less cost of shipping kit half way around the world and better for the environment for the same reason. But most people can't see past the end of their wallet, even when times are good. I brought 3 of their dehumidifiers for our last house (Victorian and very damp!) and they are great. Now we live in a new build, we kept one to keep moisture in check and gave the others to my in-laws who have problems with condensation....that was 7 years ago and they all still work perfectly. Same can't be said for the cheaper Meaco we brought before that, lasted 3 years before literally going bang and tripping all the electrics in the house! Meaco then got us to ship it back to their head office, parcelforce then lost it, Meaco refused to help us, despite promising that they would replace the machine if parcelforce lost the parcel. In the end, I was out £350 from that little event.
We are new to dehumidifiers and just got the Ebac 2250e our very first anyhow so impressed we bought a second one for upstairs..question do we need to take apart from time to time to clean coils?like to prevent mould building up on them,like i say we have never had one before so would be grateful for any tips and advice for caring for them.thanks in advance.
I have a ebac However the water is no longer going in to the chamber I called ebac up and was told that there is nothing thay can do for me iv had it for 10 years now do you know were I can have it fix . Please I would be grateful
Are the the blue refrigerating coils behind the filter usually bent or damaged? I have purchased two of these same units recently (one being replaced now) and both have had damaged coils, almost as if they've been dropped or smashed with a hammer before installing. Just wondering if this is normal for an Ebac dehumidifier or whether their is a quality control issue?
Hi Martin, bent fins are not a quality issue and will not hamper the performance of the dehumidifier. During the manufacturing process the fins can become 'crimped' as part of the electrically safety testing procedure. Thanks, Kelly
3:18 Regarding the Smart Control, is there a way to reset or wipe the memory? If it learns the average humidity levels in one environment, over a 24hr period, and then gets moved to a new environment, I suspect it may under/over perform in that new environment.

Trouble is, EVERYTHING is made of flimsy plastic these days! Problem is, plastic can break, and can become brittle with age. White plastic often becomes ugly and yellowed! ... My 32 year old Novum Dehumidifier has a steel chassis, enclosed in a wooden cabinet! Sadly, you DON'T get that quality of construction these days!

John, all I would say is please add castors by default on the larger models - even put the price up, but its common sense they are needed by default.

Yes, just unplug for at least 60 minutes, this wipes the memory and leaves it ready to relearn once turned on again.
Mine never switches off, surely my flat can't be that damp !
Can buy these if you live in North Ireland. They don't deliver . This I extremely rare, anyone know why this is the case???
