@@Buzzj4k hahaha this is hilarious...and soooo cute British....I am Greek and used to live within the multicultural safety of M25 ... I of course liked my ocasional visits to the British countryside but I instantly turned into something semi-exotic and rare , whereas in London I was simply....just another Londoner working in the NHS...
@UCyvtBHHN6deefzpDGw5tfpg Mmm Blackpool...I am not sure if had visited Blackpool, if yes it would have been for a psychology conference. I also lived in Birmingham for two years and I was commuting to Wolverhampton while there. By the way in my distorted little foreigner's viewpoint....almost anything outside of London is "countryside" not in the sense of lovely spaces and greenery but again in that sense of being exotic. It was amazing how safe and welcomed one felt while living in London which was hard to replicate anywhere else. Having said that my Wolverhapmpton job was super too and very inclusive so part of it all was in my mind too and how I had interpreted some of the countryside experiences (like being asked too many questions as in why do you work here instead of Greece , why do you have an unusual accent etc etc). I left UK back in 2009 and have not been able to visit since...which is soooo strange. If I go there now it will instantly feel like home...and it would be amazing to meet my friends after all those years. You know what ? I'm a 41 year old mother of 2 and I love watching your videos Ruby! I'm in my final year of a degree, and I often take inspiration from you, thank you 😊
Hi ruby, one of my resolutions is going to bed before 1am and wake up before 10 am. I struggled with depression a lot in the past years, and my sleep schedule was really bad and that didn't help at all. Now I'm trying to do better❤️(ps:sorry for my english, it's not my first language)
One of the best New Year’s resolutions for me is to live one day at a time-not fretting over yesterday or borrowing from tomorrow. Your comments were very practical and logical, as they always are. I just began Wuthering Heights and very glad I’ve finally got around to reading it, but how it yanks my emotions-I declare. I’ve been deep in Dickens for the past couple of months, finishing Oliver Twist, halfway through David Copperfield, and almost done with Nicholas Nickleby-each one a superb reading experience. Happy New Year, Ruby, and if you feel inclined tell us more about your part-time job and the Masters Degree program you want to pursue.
I do like what you said about resolutions being made at any time of the year. I treat my resolutions like a running to-do list for the year so that I feel like I can add new ones as they appear or remove ones that I placed on there but I no longer feel aligned with. Really important to remember that you don't have to achieve every goal you put out there, especially if it no longer is suitable for the direction you're heading🙏🏻
Hi Ruby! One of my resolutions is to follow a 30-day yoga program and I have been doing great so far. I also decided to try and read all of the books I own that are on my TBR before buying any new books... That's ambitious ahah. I wish you a happy new year and a productive week!
She is doing her master's💞👏🏼👏🏼 just a reminder that each of you should picture your future life and how to get there. A lot of people study all their life when many successful people are gaining experience outside of school👀 pick wisely, friends!
Watching you talk about setting a better night routine at 2:30am in the morning whilst drinking coffee lmao- I'm working on that as well, and I've definitely been using that reassurance of 'one bad day doesn't mean you have to give up'; my sleep used to be all over the place, esp in my last year of college and first year of uni where I was just completely burnt out and not addressing my mental health issues. You've been a big reassurance, role model and help for me for years since you were making videos in college and I was in year 11. Beautifully convenient to be able to get advice from someone's videos who was always one academic year ahead of me 😂ty for everything you do :)
Excellent point about 100% consistency being unrealistic! Presumably that means you have days that aren't structured? What do you do on unstructured days - long lie-ins? Spawl on the sofa in front of the TV? Lie in the bath for hours? Daydream? 😇
I love the way you are approaching resolutions, with the example you gave of "I'm the kind of person who drinks enough water", and that 100% consistency isn't realistic. Literally already saying you're the kind of person who does a particular thing, to really embrace that idea so it becomes more natural, part of who you are. Maybe it's also worth internalising the idea that "I'm the kind of person who doesn't need 100% consistency to keep on doing my best to live out my goals". To literally praise yourself every time you've continued doing your best after you've 'failed'. This way you'll actually never fail, cause you've only learned. We only fail when we give up trying. 💫
Hi Ruby, I just wanted to thank you for this cozy video, today i'm just being very anxious and overwhelmed by tommorrow final oral exam, i keep thinking negative thoughts about myself, but your video helped me with my anxiety and i feel slightly better, so just thank you for you content :) Sending best regards for the New Year as well, I hope your master studies application ends up well :)
Hi Ruby! My resolution is to don't base my self-worth on work. I am struggling with looking for a job after finished university. It is a hard time because at school/ uni I just knew what to do to accomplish something. Now lots of depends not only on me. It would be lovely if you did some live time to study or write with me again! It was very motivating and just a nice time with you, tea, and books. 😍
Babel changed my life. I had never felt so seen. I devoured that book. Especially as a female of colour working in a very white-male occupation that is meant to "serve queen and country", and who went to a gothic, secluded university on a peninsula, I felt like R.F. Kuang looked into my soul and wrote my experiences on a page. There were some parts/conversations in the book that were so accurate and that mirrored my real life experiences so well that I felt like she had spied on my life and the wrote a book about it. At least the beginning part. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the book Ruby. I have never been so excited for someone to read a book. Can't wait to hear your opinion on it in a future video!
This is such a lovely video to start my day with. I love the calmness and reality of it. For me it's been a little hectic the first days of the year so having a slow morning is so important to me.
Hi Ruby, how are you? I truly love all of your videos, you bring so much peace and happiness to our lives. Sending you lots of love from Uruguay! Saludos!
My new years resolution is to build some skills, consistently keep up with learning, create income stream for myself and also continue writing my book.
hi Ruby! Watching your videos makes me really motivated, I always have a productive day afterwards. I just wanted to say how much I am grateful to you! :')
Ruby. thank you so much for posting. I was having such a horrible day today, and lost hope in everything. But, thanks to you for posting, I've regained that hope. I love your content and videos !! Keep posting :)
My resolutions for this year are cooking more diversely and listening to more music! I really like your mindset- we can totally set goals for ourselves at any time

I also have started to develop a morning and night routine, and trying to get to sleep earlier. Now it’s Saturday morning, and I’ve gotten up before my dad😁
A love as true as Ruby Good luck with your masters statement. I've been questioning multi-tasking lately. I think when you multitask there's a slippery slope where you start choosing worse tasks to compliment your main task. Like say Ruby reads while brushing her teeth, and eventually she's just grabbing any book to compliment this task to where she's not carefully selecting the book. It's something I'm considering. Just thought I'd say that. One thing I want to work on this year is getting to sleep, and not really working in the night hours. Like if I wake up in the middle of the night with some idea, maybe not acting on it, but resting, and seeing what idea's come in the day time. I think day time idea's tend to be more healthy and even done out of love more, where at night I may be more competing, or trying to get even with someone, or something along those lines.
You really are very inspiring Ruby. I love watching you so much 💖. I just love how dedicated and hardworking you are and it's not easy considering all the distractions that we have around us. I wish to be hardworking like you 🌼💖
I have never owned an electric blanket, but I understand that this thing would be very useful to me. I work from home and the only thing that saves me is a lot of warm tea during the day.

It was one of those super inaccurate, wild and over the top ones by a local "guru" who had his portrait on every single page. We had so much fun following it, especially the "fashion advice" that your stars apparently commanded you that day 😂

I use the success, motivation, etc. I also use the ideal progress over perfection. Using these I’ve been able to loose 20kg in 4 months in preparation for my upcoming surgery, I’m getting double below the knee amputations and I’m planning during my recovery I want to work on beginning to write an autobiography, and in the future write a fiction novel, hence the earlier questions.
I would like to publish my poems which are highly influenced by Emily Dickinson's poetry. I think that I will also write a poem every single day to keep me happy. Happy New Year Ruby! ❤📖
