      I hear ya! I normally put the bar down. This lift, however, has a spring loaded bar, which flips up when you don't push on it. It also doesn't have a foot rest that would be available to hold it down with the weight of your feet. So with this camera selfie stick that quickly became annoying, and I just left it up.

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  9 дней назад +2

      I'm 5'9.5", 135 lbs, boot size 10 to 10.5. Board: Stranda Cheater 170W, 275mm waist. Board is on the stiff side for me, but with proper timing and stacking I'm bending it pretty easily. It's not a workout, but it's clearly not a walk in the park either!! 30 lbs more would be nice, but then I'd be fat! Hahaha....
      Remember, the board is a tool. The rider provides the skill to use it. No arrogance here!! I just want people to understand that carving well is difficult and when things don't work it's hardly ever the board's fault. ;-) Hope that makes sense!

    Hey Lars, I've been having some trouble with my toe strap sliding down over my toe and so I'm going to try the Burton over-the-toe toe straps. But the screw that held the ratchet to my Now toe strap does not fit the Burton strap. This may be a problem that you have already previously solved, where does one find the correct screw for the Burton toe strap?

    What's the best board for gripping hard snow?

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  9 дней назад +1

      Great question! And I apologize already for the answer....
      Grip is to a large degree generated by the rider. If the rider can't get into a well stacked position and applies the appropriate pressure for the conditions and board he/she is on, there won't be much grip.
      Now, let's assume the rider is awesome :-)
      You need good edges - no matter which board. Edges are like your vehicle's tires....
      Now the board.... It needs to match your weight in regard to longitudinal flex!! Weight (pressure), however, can be generated with good technique!! All my boards are too stiff for me on paper!! But with good timing and dropping my centre of mass and leg extension through the turns I'm generating lots of G force to bend the board.... So weight range is a little relative, which makes things more complicated.... The board should be rather stiffer torsionally and provide good bending abilities longitudinally. That way it keeps its turn shape throughout the turn and can deal with uneven surfaces better. You want the longest effective edge you're comfortable with in your terrain at your ability. More edge, more grip! You need a width wide enough to keep your feet out of the snow for the most part. I believe that 0.5" overhang on each side are totally fine. But for purely carving you could go as wide as zero overhang, which will make the board useless anywhere but on well maintained corduroy.
      And then you need good vibration dampening! I ride Stranda snowboards, and they check all the boxes FOR ME and the terrain I ride.
      So you see.... it's complicated! Hahaha...

    Hi Lars! Great video! And I jave two questions, I would to buy a snowboard just for carving, I am 1.72m and 70kg, do you think is still ok the cheater or too big for me? Second, do I see T-plates risers in this video or others? I also onterested in those ;)

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  9 дней назад +1

      No risers under my feet!
      Cheater works for 70 Kg, for sure. Height is not an issue on a carving board... Longer board, longer edge, better grip.... It just can't be too stiff and you have to be past the sliding stage.,

    • @QuarktaschemitSenf
      @QuarktaschemitSenf 9 дней назад +2

      sharpen those edges and maybe get an 88° angle instead of the usual 90.
