La place de la Nation, ancienne « place du Trône » puis « place du Trône-Renversé », est une place de Paris située à la limite du 11ᵉ et du 12ᵉ arrondissement de la ville.
C'est l'ancienne Place du Trône, elle devait son nom au trône érigé le 26 août 1660 pour accueillir Louis XIV et sa jeune épouse Marie-Thérèse d'Autriche lors de leur entrée dans Paris. Appelée Place du Trône-Renversé sous la Révolution lorsqu'on y érigea la guillotine. La place a été réaménagée entre 2018 et 2019 afin d'augmenter la taille de la partie centrale et de la végétaliser.
Place de la Nation, formerly “Place du Trône” then “Place du Trône-Renversé”, is a square in Paris located on the border of the 11th and 12th arrondissements of the city.
This is the old Place du Trône, it owed its name to the throne erected on August 26, 1660 to welcome Louis XIV, and his young wife Marie-Thérèse of Austria during their entry into Paris. Called Place du Trône-Renversé during the Revolution when the guillotine was erected there. The square was redeveloped between 2018 and 2019 in order to increase the size of the central part and to revegetate it.
