So fun! We went there when our girls were small and we stayed the night on the homestead in the bunk house. It was so much fun. Loved seeing this area again.

How fun to visit! I only knew about the area you can visit here in Missouri. I love experiencing these little pieces of history.

We went to the one in Missouri a few years ago and I loved it! Love that museum, it's amazing with all the artifacts from the Ingalls family.

We had The World of Laura Ingalls Wilder and we used it in homeschool and even made some of the recipes 😭 this was such a great trip down memory lane, it all came back to me :) great video

Oh wow, how fun! It definitely looked like a great companion book for a homeschool situation.

My family went there in the early 2000s! We also saw where their sod house was on the banks of plum creek, their first house in the woods, and something else I think lol we went to all the sites of all the books but I think the homestead in SD was my fav!

Wow, you did all the Laura things! That's awesome. #goals So far I've been to the Wilder homestead and the museum in Missouri, and of course, everything in De Smet. Those are the big ones, but I'd love to see all the other sites as well.

I'm looking forward to it. Lots of people really loved it, I just don't read suspense much.

Anne this was quite lovely. Even after spending do much time in SD, we have yet to make it to DeSmet. SD is one of my absolute favorite places on earth and thr sky gors on for days. Thank yoh for sharing and for the lovely scenery that filled my soul with joy.

@@insearchofwonder if we hadn't moved to Texas, it would have been SD. I would have been thrilled despite the harsh winters. 😅

@@protagonistspub Yeah... the winters.... I don't know if I could do that. I can tell you the mosquitos in the summer would be a deterrent for me. 😆😆

@insearchofwonder you mean Minnesota state bird? 😂🤣 They are an annoyance but for me, endless sky and ability to see for MILES go a long, long way to counter-balancing winter and mosquitos.

True, they don't. You should read the books as well! Very good children's classics but I enjoy them as an adult also.
