having solid edge I tried to do what you do but as soon as I click remesh OK ..it takes forever for solid edge to complete that task, what am I doing wron , I have a fast enough pc ( amd 5700X , GTX 1070 TI and fast 3600Mhz DDR4 mem) can you help?

Try to use bigger number when remeshing.
