My friend. The guy here is using a library called Turtle Graphics. That's why you read import turtle at the beginning of the video. The turtle library allows you to draw in python. You have to read the documentation tho

I don't know python turtle specifically but in computer graphics in general the pixel with (0; 0) coordinates is at the top left corner. x is horizontal position, y is vertical.
