There are new midas models out there like midas 3.1, but yeah depth anything v2 is remarkably better! One reason to use an older model is performance for lower end machines. I've seen it can take 3x as long so if you wanted to create depth maps for a 10 minute video that would take 3 times as long.

Look promising, I alway use depthscaner plugin in AE, I will try this anything to see how.

Not sure, I've only ever used it on Windows and Linux machines.
