I live in northern Louisiana in the countryside, cost of living is cheaper and I love it! Property is also cheap, you can build storm shelters and such to accommodate for nuisances...if you like city living then any rural country place isn't for you and that's fine, also not as diverse as other bigger cities, being it's mostly black and white, but I love everyone, I'm mixed myself, although it may bother some people or be a shock to them, decent traffic compared to Houston i could say from experience ...great video!
Thanks for the insight,I personally like rural living as well!
@@Livinginneworleansla no prob 👍
Always wondered what northern Louisiana was like 😅
She's a hater of the state.
I grew up in Mandeville :p and I love watching these videos so much. The hurricanes and floods are rampant but I have good memories hiding from them as a kid with my friends!!
That’s amazing, glad you find value in these videos! Everyone here always says how awesome it was to grow up during hurricane/ flood time simply because it would be so fun playing outdoors!
@@Livinginneworleansla what would you say about the education situation in Mandeville? I went to MHS and loved it, seemed to be the only high school nearby
Suburbs of New Orleans here. Dover Bay (a subsidiary of State Farm) wanted to raise my homeowners insurance to $12,000 last year! My house had pretty minimal damage in Katrina and not enough damage to make a claim in Ida or Zeta…Zeta was nearly a direct hit with the center of the eye passing within 500 feet. Never even had water in the street.
I just moved from a city called Central just outside of Baton Rouge. These are all the positives of LA.
My family just moved to Louisiana, I love it!... If you're going to tell people not to live there , all you're doing is condemning the state. It doesn't matter where you live, nowhere is perfect. You shouldn't tell people not to move there. Louisiana is a southern beautiful state. It's not perfect but it can be a wonderful place to live.
She’s not telling people to not live there , the video clearly says “if you can’t handle these “FACTUAL” truths about Louisiana then it might not be for you … I’m born raised Slidell went to school in Lafayette, these things are true and people should be aware of them
@@lunaskye3520 Hi Luna! I absolutely love Louisiana as well - I also recently moved a year ago. Like you said, no where is perfect
In the video title I stated “avoid moving to Louisiana UNLESS you can handle these 8 negatives” Of course Louisiana has tons of pros for sure! I feel it’s important for someone who knows nothing about Louisiana to know a couple of things to expect/ know BEFORE moving here and thinking “woah I made a huge mistake”
Thanks for the comment!

I love it here, my family is here, but I am overjoyed to now have the means to move out of the state. What she doesn't mention is the separation of class, racism, lack of professionalism is business and politics, corruption, CRIME, worst public everything...
Hoodie is the official winter coat
Dont forget Louisiana has the #1 highest Car Insurance too. Also the crime rates are rising because jobs here dont pay s+!t.
Left for the last time in 2002, never going back.
You forgot to mention the high sales tax, crime, poverty, political corruption, piss poor public schools, lack of decent jobs, frequent boil water advisories, the occasional oil well blowout and chemical spills, which might have something to do with the high cancer rate. The World According To Briggs channel goes into loving detail about all the negatives. Fun fact: the most numerous (and I mean really really numerous) termites are an invasive species from Formosa. Fire ants are as common as Formosan termites, and are also an invasive species from Argentina.
I was thinking the same thing, you must be from here...
Them things hurts I've done been two er twice from um since moved here from Michigan last year and I learned never go barefooted on grass that ways they no bites your feet it took me two times to learns that lessons cause I stubborn person
Hurricanes, bugs, humidity, and snakes are the reason i dont live there anymore.
I totally get it, those are some valid reasons to relocate!
insurance in Louisiana has been bad for decades before the pandemic due to corruption of the insurance commissioner's office
I was born and raised in Louisiana. I'm not saying that she's wrong on some places and things. But if you move to any state, don't bash it. Are there any positive things you like? And New Orleans has festivals all year long
I love the food! Aside from the bad it’s just like everywhere else! There’s a lot of good in Louisiana too!
@@HollyWood-do6fn 100% agree! Just like any city it has its pros and cons, I love the food as well!
I live what’s considered outside of Shreveport. Lived there for 25 years. Still standing!
Wow, 25 years is no joke! Keep standing strong out there!
Lmao 😂
I’m in Lacombe
Love bugs!
You either love them or hate them! 😅
what about the flying roaches?
That’s a good one 😂
Great question, Louisiana definitely has flying roaches.. in fact, I had my experience with one a couple weeks ago!!! I would recommend not keeping windows open and honestly just sealing any cracks in the home. Since Louisiana is a humid state, roaches thrive in this environment.
ew I Hate those
@@foshriri It can get hectic😳
So does TX
We live in Lacombe, between Slidell and Mande
love it

I’ve visited once NEVER again.
I thought I would never visit again the first time I visited, I realized sometimes you have to venture out to other cities to get a feel for the entire state. If you ever decide to visit, I would highly recommend visiting Northshore Louisiana! Cities such as Mandeville, Covington, Slidell, and Madisonville are unique cities with tons of outdoor activities
You gotta go to the Northshore, the southshore (New Orleans) is the southshore
@ elviscobb5922
Where do you live?
@@googlea2692 A small city approximately 20 minutes from both Lake Erie to the South and Lake Ontario to the North.
Don't do it...plain and simple.
Hey you need to stop putting down Louisiana
@@RooseveltMaten There are amazing things in Louisiana, don’t get me wrong I absolutely love living in Louisiana.. moved here a year ago ! Just like any other city and state, Louisiana has its cons as well and it’s important for people to know both sides, what they decide to do with this information is completely up to them! Louisiana still gets people moving to the state all the time.
Thanks for the comment!
No, you speak the truth, don't stop.

She actually mentioned everything in a very nice and informative way. She could have absolutely bashed LA and would still be correct.
