    kinda funny you followed up the bit about coil machines with "avoid wrong information". It is absolutely crucial that newer artists familiarize themselves with coil machines. If you go straight to a rotary pen you will most surely be chewing people up. They are far less forgiving in terms of damaging the skin. With time, sure, there are advantages that a rotary pen may have but with that said though, learning what a person's skin including all the various parts of the body will tolerate is very important. Using a rotary pen, you do not get as many queues in terms of whats going on. A coil machine gives better auditory, visual, and tactile queues to indicate how hard the needle is hitting the skin and at what depth.

      I have to respectfully disagree. Coil machines chew the skin up way more than rotarys especially in the hands of a beginner who doesn't know how to use it properly. I'm saying it's the other way around. Ask any artist who made the switch from coils to cartridge systems; they will tell you that coils hit harder and chew up the skin more. To think beginners should start with coils is an old-school way of thinking. My content is mainly tailored to self taught artists and most people don't care to put together coil machines or have multiple machines for one tattoo. Not in 2024. This is my view, but I appreciate coils might work better for you! It's a good discussion.

      Damn I’ve only been tattooing 20 yrs and I guess I dnt know shit. Your right coils do tear you up if you dnt know how to properly set one up. Go ahead and fix your fancy pen when it goes out 😂😂😂 there are tons of artist moving back to coils.m this was the argument years ago when pneuma’s came out, coils are out dated 😆 when was the last time you even saw a pneuma some folks never even heard of those 😂😂 can you imagine a fully adjustable machine being worse than one who can only be adjusted by voltage?

      Do you know when electromagnetic coils were invented? 1824. That's just a fun fact for you 😄
      I totally get that coils have some advantages (as well as disadvantages) it's just that I can't recommend them to people starting out. There's a lot of rotaries out there that mimic the tuning ability of coil machines. I might make a video on this in future and start a wild debate about it. Hope you'll be there for it. My dad used a sewing needle and ash back in the 40s, copying the old sailors. They did that back then. Really messy and unhygienic I would imagine, so much stuff now needs to be modern, safe, and disposable. Health and safety, you can't fuck about using old school stuff as a beginner. Some don't want to. Some also collect antique machines and use them too, but they're not intricate and precise enough for shading effects, you need loads of machines etc and that's when you could cross contaminate. Its 2024. Clinically clean please. 👍🏻

      @@juanchavez7274 knowledge isn't wisdom. you'd think with your amount of years in the game, you'd know not everyone's experience is the same.

    Could you elaborate a bit more on the coil machines and that stuff? Nice information right there

      Some people would argue that a coil machine gives more of an authentic look to certain tattoo styles but as a beginner it's not something you should be worried about. Coil machines have many disadvantages and few advantages. For one you need a seperate machine for each needle grouping, machines require regular maintenance, not portable etc.
      Tattoo machines are evolving fast a lot of people are using wireless machines now, I wouldn't recommend coils to new artists.

    What tattoo machine would you recommend for a good all around gun?

    • @AxelDaleTattoo
      @AxelDaleTattoo  7 месяцев назад

      A good all rounder would be hard to pick. If you're just starting out and it's your first machine I would recommend a rotary pen machine with a reliable motor. Something like a Cheyenne Hawk, Spektra Xion. You can do every tattoo with those but If you want to specialise in traditional tattoos you might want to get a more powerful machine that can run thicker liners.

      @@AxelDaleTattoo similiar question : for a beginner, when starting to tattoo skin in mostly blackwork/contour/ignorant (pretty much outlines, feeling the most safe here) would you rather recommend using a RS or RL needle? I started off with 05RL but with every tattoo I feel the lines are way too thin and I have to make them bolder with additional strokes which isn't the best idea. Thinking about ordering 11RL/RS, but dunno which would be better for a one stroke bold outline. Thanks in advance

    • @AxelDaleTattoo
      @AxelDaleTattoo  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Erverse Use a 05 Round Shader and see how you get on with that. Probably one of the best lining configs out there. To run bigger liners properly you need a strong motor but a RS will give you the same effect with a less powerful machine. I do most of my traditional tattoos with a 5RS. 11RL isn't going to work with most machines. You need direct drive or a traditional tattoo needle machine to get solid lines with that.

      @@Erverse Also consider the taper of the needle as that will affect the lineweight.

      @@AxelDaleTattoo well then, 05RS is next. Thanks
