“ Oh “ I loved Bobbie damn she was straight on wow. But I do have to admit Bobbie seem to always blame everything on Laura. No not all of it was. Luke had a lot to do with things too. Yes I know that Bobbie loves her brother Luke hell we all do. If anything it was both to a certain extent. They had help FS was a BIG hand in all of this. He started it from the get. He did not care about anyone but the gold, money and the organization. Not even his own family
Bobbi was a necessary character. Her conversations with Luke gave us, the audience, insight into what Luke was feeling and thinking. Without her we would just be guess. =^..^=
What Luke said to Bobbie was harsh, but necessary. If Bobbie would take a stroll down memory lane for a second, then she would remember that it was her obsession with Scotty and hatred for Laura that brought Luke into their lives. Luke would have never fallen for Laura if Bobbie hadn't been so desperate to get Laura out of Scotty's life. Just saying...
Bobbie lured Laura to a bar and the man testifying about her being in the bar didn't know Laura thought he had letters she wrote to Hamilton. Bobbie was trying to get her sent away. Luke helped her by messing with Scott's car to make Laura miss her curfew.
How dare Luke do his sister who just loves him that way? If I had a time capsule id go back to 1979 and give him a piece of my mind! God I love these episodes of General Hospital I was 13 back then and sprinted home from school to make it in time for GH Those were the days!
Amy stands at the door opening as if Laura can't come in without Amy's permission. Laura sets Amy straight. Amy may be worried about Leslie at this moment but she sure doesn't care about Leslie or anyone else when she is blabbing hurtful gossip about everyone.
I know that was hilariously obnoxious. Amy was so annoying yet I loved her. She stayed true to form. I liked when tv characters were defined. Amy the annoying gossip, Laura the spoiled, self centered princess, Bobbie the jealous girl from the wrong side of the tracks who made good. Now writers on most shows want to show every character as being undefinable. That's fine but beloved characters become at some point unrecognizable. Sure in reality we all have more than one personality trait but they go so far now as to have a character one day being a sweet college student to being a backstabber, to a murderer, to a thief, to straight, gay, transgender, depressed, a life coach, an Olympic athlete, a chef, a doctor....it just won't stop. if you fall in love with a character one day, by episode 3 they're already a completely different person. On GH, they neutralized Bobbie & Laura. I barely recognized them at some point. Luke grew but Luke was always Luke & I loved it : )
That is what makes us keep coming back for more. We get to "know" the characters over time which makes viewers feel invested in their "lives". It wouldn't be as interesting if Amy were not so annoying but boy is she asking for it sometimes.
@@rasta487 No they totally changed Luke. I couldn't stand him by the time he left in 2015. He hated being a father, all he did was drink all the time. I didn't even recognize him anymore. Laura is awesome on today's GH. She is powerful and still as beautiful as ever.
@lisacarman167 I love how 7 years later this reply comes 😊 I stopped watching GH years ago. I only came back when Luke & Laura returned to Port Charles with Lucky. I stopped watching again when they made Laura a matronly housewife living in a cottage. I was like how is Luke going to stay connected to a woman who, although needed to grow up, was so far removed from the Laura he was enchanted & obsessed with. I came back again when the original Lucky was with Elizabeth but when they switched him with the boring one I left. I loved the o.g. Nicholas & Emily, Jason & Sam, Sonny & Brenda. I would come & go during those years. I finally left for good when they suggested that Luke killed Jason's son in a car accident. By then, I was just done with how they were killing off characters. It's like they'd get this great story line going & then lazily kill them. I think that maybe almost 20 years ago. I might peek back in 😊
But those old disco's became some of the great dance clubs of the 80's and 90's. While living in Boston, we used to go out clubbing every weekend. I'm too old to go dancing now, but there must be someplace the young adults go now. The clubs just changed their names and changed the music they played.
Yeah, I'm the first. I would like to say thank you for all your time, you have spent to uploading these whole clips. I never saw the scene with Lesley before-that was great, thanks again!
If you fast forward to the 2001 storyline and search for "Luke and Laura Beginning Again", you will hear Luke in either the 2nd or 3rd part talking about messing with the car. They gloss over it from Laura's end, but it does get discussed for about 2 seconds.
I loved the reminder from Amy that Laura was self centered. I think that character trait made up so much of her personality & was a reason that you loved or loved to hate her. I didn't like when after Luke & Laura's long awaited return to Port Charles with Lucky that once they settled in & she birthed LuLu, she became a boring housewife who dressed like a grandmother. I felt the writers killed Laura & the passion between Luke & Laura by doing this. Luke for the most part always stayed true to form which is what most of us loved. I think Laura could've been that wife/mother but to her core remained the spoiled brat that always kept Luke excited.
OMGIam pretty sure that GF/ Laura did not want to be some what the writers did to her character. Aah hey it’s a JOB thank you! No Laura was a spoiled brat in the beginning but she did grow up and how! It was all on them well think of what Laura wanted Luke/ TG. Got to be what he want to be he can and thank you if you can’t only chanced because that is how he wanted it to be ..... So no let us all stop playing the BLAME GAME. She’ll we please thank you if we....... I guess it’s all the same for the winners! JMVHO. Rosie never silent!sorry Stop playing the BLAME GAME....... Shell we sorry that is what I meant! ....ok let me put it this way ....all of the characters changed either for the best, the worsted or they just stayed the same.....Or some never came back at all!... Sorry but I still don’t understand why some people put it into Laura’s lap?....HAND’S? Thanks anyway. Rosie!
@@kathylanda681 I think people forget that Genie Francis/Laura did not write her own scripts. She portrayed what she was written for her. Maybe that is one reason in 2002 she wouldn't sign a contract without time off to do other projects. She starred in several movies after 2003 and did lots of other projects. I loved her time on Y&R as Genevieve opposite Tristan Rogers and Peter Bergman. Unfortunately, when JFP got fired from GH she went to Y&R and got rid of a lot of the stars there. Including both Genie and Tristan. JFP almost ruined Y&R the same way she ruined GH. Thankfully she was fired from Y&R before she could do major damage to the show.
@lisacarman167 it's fun to see fans so passionate. Hopefully in a fun way. I actually stated I didn't like what the writers did to Laura's character. I don't actually think about the person playing it ( although wish them them the best in their real life). It used to be my escapism and I wanted to see Luke & Laura keep that flame 🔥 😄
Me too. I so wish they still had a relationship now.. I mean that is stupid .... tptb don't think woman over 40 have love lives... but do they think they abandon their siblings too???
I'm sorry, but Amy was a witch, and very jealous of Laura. At least Bobbie was honest about her feelings. in my opinion Amy Needed to look in the mirror, before calling ANYONE else self centered.
It was obviously rape, but I can understand why and how they whitewashed it. If it were a normal situation (if rape can be normal) Laura would be afraid of Luke. She may not report him because of her fear, but she would avoid him like the plague. But because she kept coming around him, and obviously still carried feelings for him, it takes a bit of the severity out of the rape. It would be so difficult to have lust after a man while you're married, but then to have him rape you, I can see why that would be confusing for Laura. How do you process that? Raped by a man who you desired. Maybe she even dreamed about a sexual encounter with him. (Yes, I know this isn't real. I'm just trying to analyze the "rape" confusion.)
@rhda8386 YEs I think she is supposed to be younger.. one of those the vinings adopted and then had their own soon after. That's what I have always thought anyway!
I guess I'm in the minority here, but after LnL came back in 93, I didn't see the self centered Laura. Sure, when she was younger, even in 84 when they were in Texas. But not after the 93 return.
Laura was very harsh to Amy here. The last real vestiges of spoiled self-centered Laura. After she goes off with Luke, she really starts to grow up. Thank goodness. Selfish Laura made me want to smack some sense into her, lol.
I would like to know what caused Luke to stop trying to cause trouble for Laura with her parole officer.(or whatever he was called) Maybe some day someone will have the missing videos and post them here on YT.
GH. Luke fell in love with Laura upon meeting her at school and told BJ off about her dirty tricks. You've got to watch the videos about LnL before the rape.
@@sharonjonsy9412 Luke tampered with Laura's car, one day Laura was driving & got into a horrible accident. Rick had to save her life on the operating table.

Not all of Amy's scenes are here. Laura is immature but people forget about here being pulled out of the Vining home and then Lesley's and then Back to the Vinings then Barbara's death.. then Amy's dad. David Hamilton... a lot for a 17 yr old girl.
Rick: You think Alan has the right to know? HELL YES, Rick! Alan is Monica's husband you fool. SHE went back to him after you rejected her, so she had to live with that choice. I couldn't stand Rick from day one and how he treated Lesley regarding cheating with Monica and the "his baby" (really Alan's) and dissed Alan made me hate him completely.
Luke always took Laura's side. But just this once he shouldnt have. Bobbie is blood and she was right about Laura. He was just too head over heels to believe any different.
Aah ok let us put it this way Bobbie push Luke right into Laura’s arms no she did not mind her own. She wanted Scotty all to herself she lied, push and made up some hair brain story’s about Laura all of the time. She almost put Laura away into reform school so she can get or try to get back Scotty fro herself again. She did not want Laura to be happy in own life but to be as miserable as she was. As for Luke ....well maybe find him the girl Bobbie wanted for him to be with? I don’t know? JMVHO. Thanks. Rosie.
Random question: is Amy supposed to be older or younger than Laura? I know Shell Kepler's older than GF, but not sure about the characters ... Amy always acted younger! lol
It amazes me how Bobbie and Luke can be affectionate one minute and at each other’s throats the next.
They're disordered. Abusive upbringing.
A lot of people didn't like Bobbi, but I thank her, because she was the first to realize that Laura loved Luke.

Rewatching after all this time, Ken is a great actor.
For all those who say Rick and Leslie treated Amy differently than Laura, Laura said it plainly. She is Lesley's daughter not Amy.
